The McCain campaign has released what appears to be its closing TV ad. It emphasizes his service to his country and his dedication to "a cause greater than my own."

The ad ends, "Don't hope for a stronger America. Vote for me."

Script:
JOHN MCCAIN: I've served my country since I was 17 years old.
And, spent five years longing for her shores.
I came home dedicated to a cause greater than my own.
We can grow our economy.
We will cut government waste.
Don't hope for a stronger America.
Vote for one.
Join me.
ANNCR: McCain.
John McCain: I'm John McCain and I approve this message.

I am voting for a stronger America...and John McCain in the White House is not part of the equation.

"That One"/Biden '08
Sorry, McCain. I'm voting for hope.
That sounds scary...
Don't vote for a stronger America... Vote for me...
McCain should retire... no seriously!
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

"And, spent five years longing for her shores.
I came home dedicated to a cause greater than my own."

read 'i'm a pow, and the cause greater than my own is money.'

in 2000, McCain had my vote.
in 2008, McCain does not.  you lied about a clean and honorable campaign, you lied about your opponent, you lied about your campaign staff, you've lied about your VP, and you've become Gollum on the stump, nervously twisting your ring until all the values you used to claim to stand for were long gone in the rearview.

"yes precious, sold out to ambition to be POTUS."
>>>Don't hope for a stronger America...Join me.
==========
If we do that, there will be no hope at all for America.

Obama/Biden '08!

Obama says 'Change!'. That's exactly what we'll all have in our pockets when he's done with us.
Actually, the ad ends with "Don't hope for a stronger America. Vote for one."

Like McCain's "change is coming" line, I wonder if he gets the irony. :-)

Change IS coming... but he's a few inches taller than John McCain!

LET'S SEND HIM PACKING ON 11-4-08
Gag me. This is the same man that sold out his outfit after he was captured and whined like a baby that he was the Admiral's son so they wouldn't torture him....some hero. The same man who uses the word "hero" for the deadbeat Joe the Plumber. What made HIM a hero? Again, gag me. John should show this ad in Arizona...he's about to lose his own state!
                         Obama/Biden '08/'12!
Very good, plain simple and honest !
After hearing Obama's plans today, and watching as he backtracks on his promises( which I remember )I think I have decided to back Senator McCain
I lie.  I cave to lobbiests.  I am a bitter old man.  I cant even vet my own VP pick.  I will make sure the corporations and the wealthy pay even less and slowly strangle the middle class.  I will fight our enemies instead of talking.  I will ensure we are at war for the next decade.

I am John McCain.  Please vote for me so I can die happy.

Douche.
It continues to be about him. Not what plans he has to make things better.
Do you know what that means?  He never had to worry about finding health insurance.  There was a good chance he never had to worry about getting enough to eat (except during his time as a POW).  Someone can serve all their life, but that doesn't make them a leader.
I choose to hope.  Better luck with getting back to the old McCain next time.
I vote for your retirement Sen. McCain, that's where you obviously belong.  My vote for president has already gone to Barack Obama, not hoping for a stronger America, knowing he WILL MAKE it as strong as it ever has been!

Obama/Biden 08/12
Who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't hope for a stronger America, VOTE ME! I am John Mccain I approve anything.
We respect your military service to this country Senator McCain and applaud your service as well in the U.S. Senate where at one time you did act like a maverick. But you have changed, we need a change, and we just can't take a chance with your current sense of poor judgement exhibited by your pick of Sarah Palin as your VP running mate and by failing to run a campaign that was respectful towards your opponent. With that we wish you well as we do Senator Obama in his new role as President Obama.
What about Ayers? Rezko? What about socialism? What about Joe the Plumber? Don't people know yet that Obama teaches sex-ed to 5 year olds? Aren't these your central campaign themes? I'm totally confused by this ad. What about Khalidi?, etc......

Sorry Senator - your credibility and "honor" is where you'll be on election night;

Blown Out.
Sorry McCain, just can't do it. Yes you served our country years ago. however, your campaign has been disgusting and your pick of Palin showed me your judgment.
OBAMA/BIDEN ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!
WOW! IS HE SERIOUS???????????
Im a pow, so i can run a country...NOT!  McCain, you are a loser, you are a loser, you are a loser! Game over!
He always says he knows how to do everything from win the war to bring prosperity to our country again.  However, he never says HOW HE WOULD DO that!!

Furthermore, being in a POW camp for 5 years is NOT AN ACCOPLISHMENT.  It was a terrible misfortune.

Americans and fellow Arizonans, please vote for the smarter, better candidate; one who will reduce taxes on the middle class and one who is a nation builder.
VOTE OBAMA
I think McCain's on a "hope" and a prayer now. the country didn't vote for Bush 1 in '92 or Dole in '96, both veterans, its not always a winning argument, especially when the country is on to the fact his policies are losers
McCain still hasn't told us much about his policies / plans for the future of the USA.

The guess would be that they are the same as the RNC platform but you can't count on that given his past history with the RNC.
Example: He is NOT against gay marriage. He is NOT as strong on gun rights.

Who is John McCain? What does he stand for? Give me one solid example of his experience of his ability to lead. Palin has more exeuctive experience than does McCain.
hahahaha!!! i like that anncr part "McCain".. did they forget to say "Palin" LOL...

4 more days! OBAMA/BIDEN 08!
John, thanks for FINALLY going with a positive ad.  Unfortunately, too little, too late.  Between the insulting choice of Palin and the vile campaign you have run, you lost my vote and those of many of my friends and family members.  We would have happily supported the McCain of 2000; you are not that man any longer.
Uhh I don't think so..

Thank you for your service to our country McCain, but you are not the man our great country needs right now...
Don't hope for a stronger America (get a weaker one) Vote McCain...
And that just shows the difference between John McForMyself and Senator Barack Obama. Barack Obama wants to help the American people, McNasty just wants to win. Once again, there is no mention of the American people just me, me, me, me, me.
When he came home, he was dedicated to out-perform his father and grandfather.  He says we can grow the economy, but will not tell us how.  He says he will cut govt waste and if he follows the lead on this by Gov Palin, we will not fund necessary science (ie the fruit fly flub in Pittsburgh). He says he knows how to win in Iraq and I'm pretty sure you can't win an occupation.
I DO hope for a stronger America and have already voted for "that one"....
His whole campaing has been silly and now the cherry on that will be a cameo on SNL.  Indeed I would rather my president be focused on the issues instead of a skit three days before election day. He did kill at the Al Smith dinner, perhaps his calling should have been comedy.  He's been slayin' me lately with his joke of Sarah Palin......oh, really?? He's still sayin' he was serious?
I do hope for a stronger America, so I've already voted for Obama/Biden.
Sorry Johnny, but it's a bit late in the race to actually try to sell us on you rather than trying to frighten us of Obama.  And John, being a soldier and a POW is something for which we will always be grateful, but it in no way makes you qualified to be the President of the United States; nor does your shoddy performance leading up to that point, your pathetic ranking in the Academy, your hair-trigger temper, your skirt-chassing, marrying the woman you met at a bar and cheated on your then wife with, campaigning as an agent of change after spending 26 years in Washington, remarrying into a life of (greater) luxury, chosing the least qualified politician in the Union as your running mate, abandoning the values that made you the star of we independents in 2000, embracing the same smear-tactics and dirty tricks the beat you in 2000, repeatedly invoking a phony emblem of middle America (whose name isn't even Joe, btw), rallying hatred and venom at your rallies, and generally becoming more of a cantankerous old brat the further your campaing falls behind in the polls.  John, your time was in 2000, and it was stolen from you, and for that we are sorry.  But we are not so sorry that we will give you this time now, it's just not yours anymore. But don't worry, you'll be fine.  You can go back to your 7+ houses, 10+ cars, and multi-million dollar heiress wife.  The rest of us are going to work to get even a fraction of what you have, and if we need a little help on the way, I really don't think you're in any position to say otherwise.  So, John McCain, thank you and goodbye.
This OLD washed up man needs to move on, he has done his bit now it is time for CHANGE and RESTORATION of the UNITED (did we get that United word!) States of America!!!
Go Obama!!
No one I know for a minute questions John McCain's service to our country.  I have the utmost respect for him and everyone who has served our country, whether it's military or government service or any other kind of service.
But the election is not about what you have done already.  It is about what you will do in the future.  And in that respect, I know more about where Obama plans on taking our country that I do McCain.
We all know and understand that the country cannot continue on the path it's currently on and expect our lives to improve.  Like I've heard several Republicans say back in 2000, you cannot keep doing the same things over and over and expect a different result.  Too bad many of them have conveniently forgotten that message this time around.
So does a vote for McCain mean giving up hope for a stronger America? Just as I suspected!!!
Does Palin/2012 mean she's given up hope for VP in 2008? God I hope so!
I am John McCain and I will lose on Tuesdays and I will whine loudly and blame it on my running mate.....GEEZ what was I thinking, I just didnt realize she was so annoying...
nice ad, but really, which John McCain is asking for my vote? The one who suffered in Vietnam or the one who impulsively picked Sarah Palin, approved dishonorable smears against his opponent, and has no clue about the economy.  Too little, too late. I voted a week ago, because I need solutions, not nostalgia.
I thank Sen. McCain for serving OUR [not "my"] country and I truly respect the man he once was, but when I think of Vietnam, I remember 3 of my closest friends in high school who came home with flags draped over their caskets.  Too many have served the U.S.A. and too many have sacrificed, but none believe they deserve the "entitlement" to be President of our great nation as Sen. McCain does [or he would not constantly keep reminding us of his sacrifice].
We are definitely ready for change and this "white senior citizen grandma" has cast her vote for "The Change We Need".
how can anyone believe he will cut government waste when he refuses the cut the #1 item of waste -- the Iraq war.  I believe that it exceeds all other waste combined.
pow pow pow
don't don't don't
just more negative negative negative
(at least he left out Palin)

John McCain's entire Campaign has run on negativity, anti-American accusations, defamation, distortion and pure invention alongside poor and inept judgment throughout this blistering ordeal.

Just say NO WAY to John McCain 20th century politics.

Obama/Biden exemplifies for a bright and prosperous future: Yes We Can!!!
No one can deny John McCain's service to his country. He has been a war hero and was, at one time, a good Senator.
But that war was 40 years ago, and it proved to be a debacle for the United States. And he stopped being a good Senator when he began his latest campaign for President, a campaign characterized by an over-all sell out to the far right wing of the Republican/Christian Conservative wing of the party.
Perhaps he was a maverick at one time, but he has proven to be just a shill for the rabid element of the right at this point, as evidenced by his choice of Palin for V.P. Clearly, he has sold his political soul.

McCain will look back at this election and chastise himself for compromising his beliefs, which are closer to Obama's than he can now currently admit. He very well might have won had he not morphed into a right wing idealoque in order to pander to the base ( and I use "base" both as an adjective and a noun here) of his party.

John McCain sounds "hopeless". Sad
Soooo, a vote for John McCain is a vote against hope and a stronger america...sounds about right to me.

Obama/Biden 08! It's time to change the world!!
"When we lose on Tuesday, I will publicly apologize for how my campaign has been run.  I have no excuses." - John McCain
Well at least it's not negative . . .

However, anyone who thinks bombing and killing people is a joke ("Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran") doesn't deserve anyone's vote.

"Don't hope for a stronger America. Vote for me."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

<<"The ad ends, 'Don't hope for a stronger America. Vote for me.'">>

So a vote for John McCain means throwing out any hope for a stronger America?

John, how did this one get past the editors???
"Dont vote for hope???" Interesting message. I guess we're not ready for hope....yet.
