From NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger
POLK CITY, Fla. – With just 72 hours to go, the McCain campaign is hoping Florida is “Palin Country.” Or at least that’s what the signs said that were passed out at Palin’s rally at the Fantasy of Flight Hangar Saturday, with no mention of the senator at the top of the ticket.

Palin is holding three rallies in a final swing around the Sunshine State’s Gulf Coast and I-4 corridor, hoping to draw out additional support in the state’s more conservative areas. She is focusing on issues that are particular concern in the state, like healthcare for senior citizens and the use of solar energy.

Her voice at times strained from her two months on the trail, Palin told a crowd in New Port Richey that Obama wants the government to take over healthcare, adding that such a move would not lower costs.

“Barack Obama goes around promising a new kind of politics, but then he comes here to Florida and he tries to exploit the fears and the worries about Social Security and Medicare to our retirees and that is the oldest and cheapest kind of politics there is,” she said in Sims Park. “And enough is enough of that.”

And here in Polk City – which she repeatedly referred to as Lakeland, a town 23 miles away – she emphasized her interest in solar power as part of the campaign’s “all of the above approach” to finding domestic energy alternatives.

“God has so richly blessed you, Florida,” she said.

Palin will fly to North Carolina and Virginia for two additional rallies Saturday, her most to date. Her stump speech has been shortened to accommodate the additional travel, with less emphasis on Obama specifically. Instead, she is concentrating more on a broader approach, focusing on the concerns of Democratic control of Congress and the White House.

But some important attack lines remain, including the claims that Obama will raise taxes on the middle class and small businesses.

"And according to an independent analysis, our opponent's new policies will destroy nearly six million new jobs over the next decade,” Palin said. “What is he thinking?”

“You know what he is thinking?” Palin continued, ignoring one audience member, who yelled “He’s not thinking.” “Senator Obama has an ideological commitment to higher taxes.”

Palin has elicited the help of the state’s popular governor, Charlie Crist, and Rep. Adam Putnam was at the Polk City stop as well.

I truly doubt Palin had even read any of Obama's policies. Either that, or she has no problem lying about them.
"Puppet Palin" is still out there "spewing" untruths again for political greed. "Dizzy Diva" needs to read, and comprehend all information presented to her. "Puppet Palin" is still making totally false claims against Obama. Unbelievable! Get out, and vote early America! "Puppet Palin" needs to be on a plane back to Alaska on November 5, to face justice.
What can you say to her repeated lies????
Nothing more revolting than to consider anywhere except Hades as "Failin" Palin country.  She's just a dark cloud in the Sunshine State.  "Drag Queen" Palin is dragging "Tailhook" Johnny's into the sewer of defeat.

Fitting that she'll be headed back to chilly Alaska to watch her campaign get shot down in flames.  Not too many people there to see her cry her little winking eyes out.  I will be so glad when the media ignores the Wicked Witch of Alaska and she no longer preempts regular programming with her hateful clueless screeches.

Go Obama/Biden 08/12!
I live in Florida, and it is not Palin country, maybe a small strip of the state where all the right wing nut jobs live.  Remember, most of the state is made up of people from all over the country.  The county I live in is primarily Republican, but Obama signs outnumber McCain.  My republican friends are also voting for Obama as the are mortified by the Palin pick - I'm glad to hear she will be in Alaska on November 4th and hope she stays there.
" with no mention of the senator at the top of the ticket."

Good Lord, Man! Is there anything left of you? Your campaign needs her to carry voters on her own, as if she's the candidate?  Especially when you consider what a disgrace Palin is. You need a know-nothing ex-beauty queen with proved ethics violations to carry you. Pathetic.
Thank god for the "Mute Button" when it comes to Sarah the Convicted, and John the Liar.  Everytime they come on the TV, I hit the mute button, because I cannot stand to listen to the lies and hate anymore.
OBAMA WANTS THE GOV. TO TAKE OVER HEALTHCARE? You can keep your own plan IDIOT! And, even if that were true, I'd rather have the government plan than the $5000 McLiar is going to me and than tax me on as if it's income -- when a decent healthcare plan costs AT LEAST 13k.
She is a joke. How could any American with common sense take her serioulsy... The bigger concern is her husband. It scares me to death that this member of the alaskan independence party could someday be married to the VP or President of the US.
Please I can't listen to her any more.  Vote Obama and at least we have a chance.

I'm troubled by the lack of diversity in the Palin rallies and the old code words of the South.  We need to go forward not backward.

Palin is a sad, empty headed buffoon.  After Barack demolishes McCain this Tuesday in the election.., the Repugnant-ones will have a meeting to decide the future of the GOP - good luck with that pile of manure.  One wing of the GOP think Palin will lead the way back - HA..!!  I sincerely hope the GOP try to ride her wagon because they will lose ALL credibility and every election for decades.

Practice saying "President Obama" - just a few days to go.  All free thinking Americans are welcome to join in the success ahead.
I cannot wait for this uninformed, dishonest, screechy-voiced person to be gone!  McCain's health plan is absolutely horrible and without a doubt will leave even MORE people uninsured. I seriously doubt Palin's committment to alternative energy.  All she has cared about in the past is oil revenues for Alaska and she is just giving lip service to any change.  Go away Palin our country can do so much better!  VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN '08 (OR SOONER IF YOU CAN)!
I'm from Florida, and I'm insulted.
Hey FR what about Cheney endorsing MCBUSH?  That's really something to blog about!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all your great work MSNBC!!
It always surprises me what independent analysis she constantly refers to.  It must have been that one that said she was clear of all ethics violations.  Oh, that's right, that one doesn't exist either.

OBAMA SAID --- You Are "SELFISH" If You Do Not Want To Give "TAX REBATES" To Those WHO DO NOT PAY ANY INCOME TAXES!

(... IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO EXPAND "WELFARE" ... YOU ARE SELFISH ... DUH?)

OBAMA HAS A PERVERTED SENSE OF FAIRNESS & JUSTICE ...

And IT IS BASED ON REV. WRIGHT'S SERMONS ON "BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY."

REV. WRIGHT'S BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY is a “WELFARE THEOLOGY”.

REV. WRIGHT'S SERMONS DRIVE OBAMA'S "NEW POLITICS" ...
========================================================================
I'm confused, Who exactly is running for what on this ticket? Is it McCain/Palin, or Palin/McCain? The Party seems to be a bit confused also.
when PPPpawins FFFfwy. thththats all folks!
"Your a disgrace...It is so obvious what is going on here. The Obama love fest.  He bought this election and anybody who is following this election can see it. You guys know it as well. What ever happened to fair and balanced?
Mia , New Paltz, NY (Sent Saturday, November 01, 2008 10:10 AM)"

How exactly would he buy the election -- considering the average donation is $86? We've given about $150 starting around July. What's that about $5 bucks a week?  You think he's going to come find me and offer me a cabinet post, a new car, fix the broken tile in my floor, a new dresser for my daughter? You're in idiot!  McCain is the one who'll be indebited to the fat cats and lobbyist. His policies are written for them. Not for 95% of our country. Get your facts straight.
Palin lives in her own teeny tiny world, I have watched her in absolute fascination on how she can turn and twist words and the thoughts of others to fit her positively Palin view of the world.  This from a person whom has abused her powers as a governor and yet managed to twist those facts as if to make tham disappear.

This country has had enough lies!!!!!  We don't need her to lie and be deceitful in the VP and white house.  We have had enough.  Eight years of waste, and gee lets look at her record too.

Additionally, after calling Obama a Socialist for wanting to spread the wealth.  Exactly what were those checks from the oil industries that were sent out to Alaskan taxpayers.  Redistributing the Wealth too.

Palin you will reap what you have sown.

I am so sick and tired of REPUBLICAN MEN getting on TV and stating that the media is picking on Sarah Palin because she is a woman.  They are picking on her because of her incompetence.

I am a white, 52 year old woman.  I am a professional.  I have to take the heat just like the men do in my profession.

The Republicans put up a attractive lightweight because they thought women would go for her.  Women go for candidates who are insightful, intelligent and well prepared.  I am interested in hearing a woman intelligently express her opinions on what she believe and not hand out some high level talking points like we're a bunch a morons.  Further, her zest in throwing around inflamatory remarks doesn't bode well for her being in a precarious position as the possible President of the United States.

WHY should she be given a pass on foreign policy or anything else for that matter.

You MEN are unbelievable. Let her defend herself if she is so intelligent.  Everytime she says anything unscripted it turns into a disaster.
