That’s some streak

Posted: Monday, November 03, 2008 10:14 AM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro
Obama has now led in 111 straight national polls with methodologies we trust (looking back through the Pollster.com national trend), including the trackers back to Sept. 22-24 when a Gallup Tracking poll showed the race tied at 46%-46%. Since a Big Ten poll that showed McCain up 46%-45%, Obama has led in 117 of 119 polls.

Kerry lead in alot of polls also...did he win...no
Almost at the finish line people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This all has been exciting and trying at times.  I will be so glad when there will be no more commercials bashing anyone on TV!  ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama/Biden 08/12
Don't give up, true believers.  This isn't over!  Keep hammering home the message!  Senator Obama will be the next President!

Don't do it for him!  Do it for yourself!
Democrats always have an edge in polling. Most polls are conducted by organizations such as network news, and newspapers which are at least 90% liberal to begin with. From that, there is a certain built in bias that shows up in these polls, somewhere between 5-10%. The election tomorrow will be a lot closer tomorrow then anyone thinks.
Obama supporters.
Do not take anything for granted. Do not believe
what the media and polls tell you.
Vote and be prepared to stand in line for however
long. Middle class American must take back our
country.
Let's show the world we have their and our best
interests at heart.
FR, I am curious about those states who went heavily for Romney in the West.  Are they on board with McCain?

In Montana for example, Ron Paul is on the ballot, but how does this effect the other states who are not to fond of McCain?

There has been little talk about those states which Romney won in, especially if the complete base is not rallied.

Will this mean the "L" word for Obama?

Worried, but confident we can squeek it out!
That's the thing about libeals, always worried about the polls. Face a few facts, Obama has never accomplished anything in his political life. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. No poll can ever cover that up. America is on the eve of electing a man as inexperienced as they come.
Remember, if Barack wins ... you lose.

Socialism is not the way to go.
Sorry for posting from a previous post. Couldn't help myself:

What do you mean "IF McCain had played the Wright card"? He is playing it...through his surrogates and his attack puppy, Caribou Barbie.  I'm so sick of this POW scoundrel taking the FAKE high road and hiding his hand as if he has nothing to do with what these NAZIS are promoting.

BHO could have played the Hagee, Anti-gay preacher, Anti-Jewish preacher, Anti-Catholic preacher, G. Gordon Liddy, Witch Doctor, White suprememicist secessionist, Keating 5, 500K to Kalidi CARDS.  But for some reason, he chose not to. Hope all that class doesn't bite BHO in the A$$!
As he should!
Where are Palin's medical records?
Penn GOP just cost Susan Collins my vote and I call on all people of Maine to do the same and send GOP of message- Nasty Campaigning=Shameful and Desperate Campaigning
That's great. Now get off this board and make it count!  GO VOTE NOW!

OBAMA ALL THE WAY!!!
Let's all vote and flush the racist/fascist party from our long national nightmare.
Wow! And I thought just the latest polls were a good sign!

It has been a pleasure to blog with you all but my work is done.  It's time to get back to the real world.

A few things before I go
* No matter who is elected President tomorrow, our taxes will go up.  It is not a matter of want but need.  We have a choice: do we want a bankrupt country or do we want to succeed?  If we want the latter, our success depends on our opening our checkbooks or doing some serious volunteering to save our country.
* If we elect Senator Obama to be the President we will finally have the opportunity to undo the horrible place we have put ourselves in internationally.  An ecstatic goodbye to the war hawks.
* Apparently there are a few other people who call themselves "Democrat" out there.  You should be able to tell from my writing style who I am.
* I have supported Barack Obama here for some time but only recently have I identified with the Democrats.  I voted for Reagan, Bush I, Bush II in 2000 and Dole.  For a long time I was staunchly Republican.  I have, however, taken the time to view the party platforms of both parties and no longer like what I see in the Republicans:
   * I strongly believe in separation of church and state because this country was founded based on an escape from religious persecution but the Republicans embrace a combination of fundamentalism, evangelism and government.
   * I do prefer that the government stays out of my life as much as possible but the Republican Party is now the party of pick-and-choose: they want to and have taken away some of our rights while trying to tell us that they haven't.  Their platform suggests that they would like to take away more.
   * I do like lower taxes, but not at the expense of the country I love.  I am willing to pay more to help it succeed.
   * I want our great country to move forward.  The Republicans seem to be afraid of that.  I do not like the idea of supporting a party based on fear and loathing.

I crossed the aisle and embraced the progressive side.  If you feel that the Republican party no longer represents you like I do, do the right thing and vote Democratic this election.

Yes you can.

Let's hope there's no "mechanical problems" come tomorrow. I'm looking forward to casting my vote for Obama and Mitch McConnell (yes, a Democrat and a Republican, it's legal to do that, I promise!)
A nice stat, but it won't mean jack if Obama doesn't bring this sucker home tomorrow.  Eyes on the prize, people!  We're almost there!
You guys keep talking about the "real John McCain."  Apparently, the real John McCain wants to win so badly that he will sacrifice values to do it.  The airwaves are now flooded w/Rev Wright ads, Joe the Plumber makes false accusations about Obama during McCain/Palin rallies, and McCain does nothing about it!  It doesn't matter that the Wright ads aren't directly from his campaign; he should stop them, and, if he says he can't, how will run our country if he can't run his party?
That's all the evidence I need to see. McCain is toast tomorrow. And I'll savor every second of his defeat.
I think it is sad the The RNC has been reduced to their normal Low-Ball attacks. The comercial has aired in my home almost every 30 minutes I am in the spill off off Philly airwaves. The funny thing is a group supporting Obama has an add that is semi negative does my favorite thing shows McCain and Bush in a warm embrace. The RNC appeals to fear the other one makes you kinda of smile. They just dont get it people are tired of Smear and Fear tactics. Only the Rabid dog likes to be fed poop like that. People are not rabid dogs. The other thing that I crack up about is how stupid the Palin / McCain dou sound saying That Joe The Plumber says Obama's tax plan sounds like Socialism. I can bet you cash money that Joe The Plummer cant spell Socialism.
Polls, we don't need no stinkin polls!

The time for change is upon us.

Obama/Biden
In one day, YOU can put an end to the politics that would divide a nation just to win an election; that tries to pit region against region, city against town,
Republican against Democrat, that asks us to fear at a time we need hope.
VOTE!
Obama/Biden '08
I beleive John Mccain would be even or ahead if the news media was not so bias against McCain
The media is all over the news of Obamas aunt and how the info was leaked to the media.
Yet, the State of Ohio did illegal personnel checks on Joe The Plumber.
I guess will will be living in a state that free speech will be illegal or supressed unless you agree with Obamanmics
you might want to check out zogby-that poll has McCain ahead in the last two days, after trailing badly for a week.  It seems that the undecideds, (one out of seven voters) are breaking for McCain.

Say what you will, I learned my lesson about Zogby's polling data in 2000-Rasmussin, Mason-Dixon, WSJ/NBC, GAllop-every other poll had Bush ahead in Florida from 5 to 15 points.  Zogby had it TIED.

It's the weighting-do it wrong, and your polls are wrong.

We'll see how this turns out.

P.S. I wouldn't put too much weight on the number of democrats turning out for early voting, since I, myself, am a registered democrat, and, in fact, have held elective office as a democrat.

I'm voting McCain.
$250,000, $200,000, $150,000, $120,000.

These are the income numbers Obama or his little minions are putting out there for who will get their tax raised in 2009. Notice which direction the numbers are going. Pretty soon, it will be "If you have a job, then your rich - everyone will get their taxes raised".
I'll interpret this for you;
MSNBC doesn't "trust" and won't report on any poll that doesn't show Obama ahead.
MSNBC....(M)ANIPULATE, (S)LANDER, (N)AME-CALL, (B)ACK-STAB, & (C)ONVOLUTE.
Get the picture?
I guess it will be pretty obvious that election fraud has occurred if the Republicans win. Will anyone be prosecuted this time?  I believe there should be mandatory minimum prison sentences for election fraud since the crime strikes at the heart of our democratic system.  It is equivalent to treason.
GREAT!

But that doesn't mean we should all take a nap!

We must work HARD---- especially today and tomorrow.

Make arrangements, phone calls, emails, voicemails, text messages ---  GET YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES TO THE POLLS!!!   This will not work unless you get to the polls and cast your vote.   THIS IS YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE ----- and don't let anyone intimidate you.     Call for help if this happens.

We need an all out effort today ---and a bigger effort tomorrow.   Don't let your country down ---it is that IMPORTANT.

OBAMA/BIDEN '08 ...........The only choice for America.
"Obama will in all likely hood win. But he will go into office with a country more divided than Lincoln and at the lowest approveal rating of any president. Bush is currently at 30-32 % Obama will go into office with about a 48-50 % approval rating which will continue to fall. He is the poorest choice as a Black President that we could have ever had. His past, his closest friends, his policy, his view of America will ruin ANY hope of future black Presidents.

Black Voter backing Mccain (Sent Monday, November 03, 2008 10:18 AM)"

YOU NEED THERAPY AND PRAYER. NOW!
Ever see an NBA game? I know, I know, sports are icky to a lot of liberals. Many NBA games go the entire game with the weaker team winning the game only to have the better team win at the buzzer. I'll leave it to the amazing liberals minds that post here to apply the analogy to the presidental race.
Bye Bye John.....
AS A FORMER TEACHER I WANT TO WARN THE WHITES THAT WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE AT THE OBAMA PARTY TOMORROW NIGHT, WHEN THEY ANNOUNCE MC CAIN HAS WON GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE.  BETTER YET IF YOU SUPPORTED A FRIEND OF A TERROSIST STAY THERE=YOU ARE NOT WORTH SAVING.
All those polls must be run by terrorists.  Or communists.  Or socialists.  Or elite biased east-coast media types.   Or,...
Praying the election isn't stolen again.
Here’s the deal folks, if obama is elected he will let down his false image and go back to being who he really is. Back to Rev wrights church, back to being best friends with Ayers, back to supporting anti American groups, back to supporting terrorist groups.
Question is do you as Americans want these people running our country ????

Currently we are fighting Muslims in 2 different countries, why elect one to high highest position in the world, here in the US. During world war II didn’t elect a Japanese or German to the presidency so why now ??? Times maybe hard now, but if obama is elected they WILL get 10 times worse. Do you want history to show a Muslim named Hussein to be listed with our great leaders? Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, Hussein?

I don’t care what he keeps promising; HE WILL raise your taxes! He can’t afford to pay for his welfare programs without raising taxes. He’ll raise your taxes by repelling the bush tax cuts. That alone will raise you taxes, mine will double. America think long and hard do you really want someone with NO experience, with terrorist connections, and who supported over 20 years of anti American sentiment as our President ?  He has consistently changed his mind when things didn’t suit him and realized they wouldn’t work. He is like putting someone who has never flown a plane in the pilot’s seat with all of us as his passengers. People I understand we want change (as do I) but he is not it. He is too radical in his beliefs and too mysterious with his past.  As of yet he still has not produced a legal birth cert to prove his a natural born citizen. WHY? He keeps telling everyone he is Christian, but until he moved back to the US he was a practicing Muslim.
As, Brian Brokaw said on the nightly news there is still so much we don’t know about him. Too much to turn our country over to him to do as he pleases.

Tomorrow, we elect a new President, let’s elect one that we can trust and doesn’t hide his past. Elect someone who has America’s interest at heart, not someone who wants to liked and admired in foreign countries. We need leadership here! The economic crisis will end, and the country will be strong again only if McCain wins. Think about your children and grandchildren, do you want then to have an America to grow up in????

Pray that God does still Bless America !
This looks like the FITH PLANE MCCAIN HAS CRASHED.

BONZI!!!!
There IS a reason for the streak. America is TIRED of Republican hating and Republican (Read Ronald Reagan) economic theories, though he didn't "invent" them, he just popularized them.

America is tired of Wall Street, special interests, corporations owned by the rich assuming that America is their cash bucket.

----------------
Senator McCain, Governor Palin and assorted surrogates are delusional and breathtakingly corrupt. They disgrace themselves and their country as they lie, smear, slur and write it off as political manner. Yet the creeping truth must frighten them late at night:

There is no currency left to buy the big lies.

There is no more money left to loan or borrow the big lies or to sell them. No more money left to pay off the debt, the wreckage in the wake. The orgy of excess has drained every bottle, smashed the furniture and left the cupboards bare. All that's left is derivative debts - bets between liars and lies. Trillions of dollars. It turned capitalism into a Ponzi scheme for trading worthless paper. No real value anywhere. No matter how much money Ben Bernanke prints.

We are asked to stand over the abyss and experience our own destruction as another political game show - just another surreal horse race.

We watch millionaires and paid Republican hacks appear on television yelling "Socialist!" at Obama as if the Bolsheviks are coming to rape our daughters. These are the same people who oversaw the greatest UPWARD REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH in the history of this country. The same people who, through general lawlessness and a privatization frenzy, succeeded in shredding the Constitution, turning war, illegal domestic spying, security, border patrol, interrogation, and even torture into profitable industries gorging on the state.

So define the big lie: free marketers want free markets. Not so, the facts say. They are the biggest welfare freaks on the planet.

These men and keepers of the faith would lecture us with a straight face on the evil socialists/ communists/terrorists /vampires/space aliens who would dare "redistribute wealth" by amending the tax code. Two wars and the only shared sacrifice they want is more tax cuts for the rich and for the U.S. citizenry to continue shopping.

(quoting John Cusack, and if you have not see War, Inc. yet, it's an eyeopener and entertaining at the same time.)
--------------------------

They want to socialize risk, while privatizing the wealth. That is the "free market" that John Mccain works for. That is why he points the finger of socialism at Obama while assuming the American public is either too stupid or too busy working to pay their bills to actually look the definition of socialism... to learn that if anything, it HAS been his party who has practiced it faithfully... BY REDISTRIBUTING YOUR WEALTH UPWARD AND OUT OF THIS COUNTRY, INTO OFFSHORE ACCOUNTS AND GLOBAL BUSINESS MERGERS.

But one thing John McCain failed to understand about America... we don't get mad. We get even. We are a pendulum... and the swing is against you, John.

GET OUT AND VOTE TOMORROW! If you already voted, help someone else vote. Let's take back this country and keep the wealth with those who work for it -- those of us making LESS THAN $250k!!!

YES, WE CAN.
This thing isn't over until Karl Rove is out of work for the next two decades.

FOCUS! VOTE! FOLLOW THROUGH!
The University of Wisconsin "big Ten" poll should be ignored. Whether "my [cheese head] friends" were drinking too much beer (distinct possibility), or too distraught over the loss of Favre, the collapse of the Badger football team, or lack of pollling experience outside Badger land, to conduct a decent poll. What ever the reason the Big Ten poll has always been odd. It's September poll was the only poll to show McCain ahead of Obama in Iowa. I had never heard of the "Big Ten" poll before September, or any University of Wisconsin poll for races outside the states border. I can't speak to its numbers outside of Iowa, but its first poll of Iowa was a joke. McCain has never had a lead in Iowa, and the lead for Obama was double digits when U of W's poll had McCain ahead. It's probably what has foolishly kept Iowa as a lean instead of a likely state, although CNN finally put IOwa as likely. Yesterday the Des Moines Register's "Iowa poll" showed Obama with an insurmountable lead. 17% among likely voters, and 23% lead among independents. While I have less respect for the Registers caucus polling, the papers final poll before the election has never called a state wide race wrong, and this year isn't going to be the exception!
I will have give it to the Republicans......they wont' go down without a fight and this time... neither will the Democrats.
I listen to Barack Obama and feel inspired.  I've donated to his campaign, rallied for him in my community, etc.. but you know... after living through the debacle of 2000 and 2004 where the polls LOVED Gore and Kerry, I am just not going to exhale until the numbers start coming in November 4.
Polls mean nothing it this point, votes are all that matters.Don't take anything for granted.Drive your kids to the polls, pick up grandma& granddad, auntie, fill the car with those that need a ride.Today is prep day  ,Tuesday will be game on.Vote for change, vote for new direction, vote for the one's  that have shown They are ready,Obama/Biden 08'
So how many times and how many ways do you have to get the same answer before you believe it?  Sure 117 our of 119 is enough! Even though the error (of measurement) is three or four points, the consistency of all the polls should give confidence regarding the outcome.

By the Way: Thank you Chuck Todd, Mark, and Domenico for your long hours and good work with First read. You did a great job.  I look forward to the departure of Pat Buchanan and David Gregory...After all the Road to the White House ends tomorrow.
As someone who cares about polls I can't wait for the post election evaluation if the polls were right or wrong.
Well the polls don't reflect Hillary saying that She supports McCain, yeah the Robo calls. Her voice, she's not denying the statements, nor do the poles reflect Obama saying he's going to put the Coal Industry out of business... Go figure more Obama lies coming to the surface.
Everybody Vote, Vote, Vote, Vote, Vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The media is reporting as if Obama has won already.

If we don't vote he won't win.
We need every vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Ohio, in the town where my sister lives, the McCain/Palin signs out number the Obama/Biden signs by about 35 to 1. Even in yards with for sale signs and forclosure you will see a McCain sign right beside it. I don't understand. Maybe its because they are smart enouph to know that Obama will not be able to fix anything either because he is all talk. Maybe because the town is 99.5% white, they will vote for Obama but don't want to advertize it.
Audio tape of Obama on the Drudge report, that he
will put the coal industry out of business. McCain/Palin just won Pennsylvania & Ohio. Thank your
Mr. Socialist!!!!
Stick a fork in the fat lady, this one is over!
Well, then, clearly McCain will win all of the tossup states and lean Obama states in an "upset". And that is because he is the best closer in the history of politics.  This is, truly, great news for John McCain!
Thank you Dear Lord for these poll numbers.  Thank you for Senator Obama.
Too bad the right-wings want to 'cling to their guns and religion' instead of embracing 'christianity' and temperance.
They will not celebrate with us now, but at the end of the first Obama administration- they will see what we Obama supporters already know for certain.
