Wasilla looks to Palin's future

From NBC's Peter Alexander
WASILLA, Alaska -- At the Wasilla Sports Complex in Sarah Palin's hometown, it was the first -- and only -- loud applause of the night when Sen. John McCain mentioned Palin's name. Otherwise, the room was silent and stunned. A line-up of rock bands took turns on stage, but few people here are in a festive mood.

"You know when the next campaign starts?" A clearly disappointed Phyllis Robertson said. "Tomorrow."

Here, the pride for Wasilla's former mayor is tremendous. Many supporters came tonight wearing the same updo the governor has made famous. Vendors are selling T-shirts with slogans like "Palin: She Doesn't Run with the Pack, She Shoots Them" and "My Pit Bull Wears Lipstick."

One pin reads: "Palin 2012."

Kelly Caraway of Wasilla brought her daughter to witness history -- though not the outcome she had hoped for.

"From the beginning, I said it would be good for Sarah no matter what happened," she explained. "I'm glad we get to keep her in Alaska for a while, but we know it's not forever."

From the lower 48, you can keep her as long as you want.  Thanks but no thanks
go away you aweful woman.
Sorry Sarah, go home and sleep with Todd and move on. Then, face the legislative body's punishment for your violation of the law. yeah, the Personnel Board found you to be innocent, but that baord is beholden to you.
Please  Wasilla, keep her!  Those of us in the lower 48 are happy to be rid of her.  Her "joe six pack" is insulting.  The notion that she represents women is foolish.  The number of hard working women that can haul their kids around with them on the job is next to nil.  She is not the common woman, she does not represent me.  She can stay in Alaska.
And just one of MANY reasons the McCain/Palin ticket lost is that MOST Americans don't think shooting wolf packs from helicopters is an appropriate way to manage our wildlife. Except for the damage she can do to the environment, I'm perfectly happy to let Alaska have her back!
I wish they would keep her in Alaska!
Good luck Sarah.  If an African American can win there is hope that maybe someday a Governor of Alaska can too.
Palin is an Idiot, the same goes to any and all who cannot see this. McCain is still kicking himself for grabbing a taken running mate.
No, really: you can keep her forever.
PAILN HAS MY VOTE IN 2012.GOD BLESS THIS COUNTRY THATS ALL IM GOING TO SAY!
Palin in 2012? I don't think so. Palin had her fifteen minutes of fame...it's time for her to fade back to Wasilla, where she really belongs.
Please---just keep her up there out of the way of real life.
Well, I think most of the nation is glad that you can keep Sarah Palin too.
America no longer has anything to say to Wasilla
Thank you Lord! You can keep her!
oh please keep her...
Give up on Palin, already.
Yikes! The dumbest candidate for anything in my lifetime and the only person who can make George W. Bush look presidential.

Good luck with that choice, Republicans.
Palin was the absolute best thing that could have happened to the...Democratic ticket! Thank you, John McCain!!! We LOVE you!
Palin 2012?? That's a joke.
I hate to be negative, but thank god Palin's 15 minutes are over.   John McCain might have won with a competent and qualified VP nominee.
She's good for Alaska. (Maybe.) She should stay there where they seem to like her. Even if she studies and works with a speech coach, she is not the kind of person I want as my President.

Best wishes for baby Trig.
Boy, I sure hope you keep her in Alaska forever
I received a letter from the Republican National Committee this morning endorsed by Sarah Palin.  It urged a final push for support.  I'm sure the letter reached millions of readers.  Underneath the header "Sarah Palin" were the words "Wednesday Morning".  Of course it was not spelled "Wednesday".  It was spelled "Wendnesday".  Receiving this letter firmly reinforced why I didn't vote for McCain and this woman, who lacks attention to detail, experience, and the capacity to act as the vice president of this nation.
Keep her -- please keep her !!!!!
PLEASE keep her. We beg you!!!!!
Alaska can have this silly person back.  We need serious leadership for a serious time.  Fierce hunter?  Lipstick?  Spare me.
Alaska:  Please keep her.
Oh... I sure hope PALIN decides to run in 2012. That would be great. PALIN versus a slew of men, including ROMNEY, HUCKLEBERRY and RUDY??? Great. But I do have a little advice for the "pit bull"... READ SOMETHING, VENTURE OUTSIDE ALASKA, DROP THE ROVE PLAYBOOK and ACTUALLY KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THE THINGS YOU PLAN ON TALKING ABOUT!
Yeah you stuck with her now, she your problem not ours (USA)... We got the right ones baby Obama & Biden 2008 & 2012 .. Yes We DID!!!
As my 2 year old daughter says, "bye-byyye."  And I say, "Thanks but no thanks Sarah."
By all means, keep her in Alaska forever! Any town that takes "tremendous" pride in someone who has proven herself beyond a doubt to be a pathalogical LIAR and completely incompetent deserves her. Have fun paying off your deficit.
Until she learns that people can disagree with her ideas and STILL be True Americans, she needs to stay in Alaska.
Please....keep here there forever and a day if you want to.  Just keep her.
Wow! You angry people... You'd think after your candidate was just nominated the next President of our great United States you would be in a better mood. I for one am proud to say I am a woman in my 40's who voted for McCain/Palin. She has nothing to be ashamed of. I hope she has a great career in politics. Good job Sarah! Congratulations Barack.
She can audition to become a Tina Fey impersonator on SNL.
Keep her Alaska. Perhaps she can take the time to be a good mother, especially to that sweet baby that needs her attention, not being carted out during a noisy rally. Her attacks left me cold and definitely lost my vote.

Obama/Biden! It's time to move on and embrace some change.
Does anyone remember Quaile running for president after being such a 'terrific' vp? yeah... thought so. He barely made it through the primaries... clearly being telegenic but stupid doesn't win. Goodbye Palin, enjoy your slide into obscurity!
Keep her! Palin is an embarrassment to herself, and to female politicians everywhere. Palin - what would really set you apart and be mavericky is if educate yourself and your children and please keep religion at home. kthx
Good ridence to Palin, back to the darkness she comes from.   Oh by the way, as some supportors have touted...being head of the National Guard, not makes one experience in foriegn affairs.  I just can't seriously believe that she thinks she was ready to step in ... god forbid....as President if something would have happen to McCain if he was fortunate to win the election.  She should have respectfully declined the offer of running as VP....it was the kiss of death to McCain.
Now its time to get to work and support our new president.  There is lots of work do be done!  I supported Obama throughout this election, I was even cautiously optimistic about his winning.  Well gee stranger things have happen!

And yes...just what was that dress Michelle was wearing?   I agree, she didn't go out and buy 150,000.00 in clothing, but I think someone should have helped her pick out something better for this evenings apperance.    BTW..I seriously don't think she is a size 20...closer to a 14 from what I see.
OK oldies buffs- think in the tune of "See you in September" (Carole King) by the Happenings.....

"'Bye, baby, good bye....."
No one wants to see Palin run for any office again; except maybe in Alaska. I am so thankful that she did not get elected as it is just too scary to think about. And thank God McCain didnt win. I AM PROULD TO BE AN AMERICAN TODAY! Obama will be one of the best presidents we have ever had. He brings new and positive ideas.
Keep Ailin Palin in Alaska.  She is of no use to us in the lower 48.  I wonder how her children will do in catching up with there schooling that they have missed.  Keep her in Alaska forever.  She was an embarrassment to most of us real women.  all my working professional women friends.  Bye Bye Sarah.  and thank goodness you are not going to be on tv much.  Oh except on SNL to be made fun of.
Now are Sarah has to do is return her clothes to Sak's and get on grayhound.  Thanks God and Grayhound  she's out of here
I beg you to keep her there, pay her whatever she wants! Just keep here out of the lower 48! We wont miss something that stupid giving weomen such a bad rep. Good bye!
McCain might have won, if he would have choose another running mate. thank you Sarah
Yep, the message of change out there is obvious for most of you that have commented, and hatred for someone that has gone much further than any of you could even amagine.
We need her to go back to her porch and keep an eye on the Russians for us, and help raise her kids bastard children.
To all of the above folks who dissed S. Palin, at least she tried.  Maybe it's time for folks to keep their mouths shut if they can't be civil to their fellow man.
She came, she saw, she got her butt kicked!!

BUH BYE!...    14:59...     times up
