*** 43 meets 44: At 2:00 pm ET, the current president and first lady welcome the incoming president and first lady at the White House. Then, minutes later, Bush and Obama will meet together. The fact is, Obama owes much of his success to Bush. Without the president’s low approval ratings and his damage to the Republican Party’s brand, it’s doubtful that the nation would have taken a chance on someone named Barack Obama who was just four years removed from the Illinois state Senate. And it’s equally doubtful that Obama's constant message of change would have resonated with the electorate. Keep in mind that presidents from opposing parties sometimes have better personal relationships than presidents from the same party: See Bush 41-Reagan, Carter-Clinton and Clinton-Bush 43. There's something about dealing with a president from the opposing party that's sometimes liberating for presidents. As far as today's meeting goes, it's the fly-on-the-wall stuff that we all want to know -- for instance, will Bush make a case for keeping Gates at the Pentagon?

VIDEO: NBC's Chuck Todd gives his first read on today's meeting between Bush and Obama.

*** Obama at 365? The AP wrote over the weekend that the single electoral vote tied to Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District will likely go to Obama. Douglas County Election Commissioner Dave Phipps “says Obama currently holds an 8,430-vote lead in Douglas County. Phipps still has about 5,300 provisional ballots to count. Based on historical trends, he expects about half of those to count. Uncounted ballots in Sarpy County leave some uncertainty, but Phipps said he believed only a few hundred remained.” Note: NBC News has not yet called that electoral vote, but is monitoring the situation. And as soon as we're satisfied with the vote count, we'll call it officially. But the bigger challenge for networks is how to present the red-blue map. Do we now have a blue dot where Omaha is? A blue circle?

*** Palin watch: Beginning on Friday, Palin began holding interviews with the media, in which she began to defend herself from some of the damaging leaks about the shopping spree and her knowledge of world affairs, as well as simple geography. Yet it’s possible that geography -- being thousands of miles away in Alaska -- could be her biggest impediment in defending herself against Republicans who want to blame her for the McCain ticket’s shortcomings. It takes hours for her to catch up to a news cycle out East, and sometimes the damage is done before she even wakes up in Alaska. Of course, Palin could eliminate that geographic problem if Stevens ends up winning re-election and she runs for his seat…

*** The first Web president: What FDR was to radio and JFK was to TV, Obama could be to the internet? The Washington Post has a great piece this morning about the Obama Administration’s attempts to harness the internet for their governing purposes. The incoming administration has a real chance of turning the blogosphere into the 5th Estate, which can both be a good thing if the administration needs amplifying of a policy init -- but it could end up being a bad thing if Obama ends up on the wrong end of a policy disagreement with the liberal blogosphere. But whatever the eventual effects on Obama, the bottom line is that Obama’s will be the first Web presidency, and that will create a media paradigm shift that we can't necessarily foresee right now other than to note it's something that's coming.

*** So the McCain folks were right -- turnout was 130 million: Turnout expert Mike McDonald at George Mason University has revised down his turnout estimate to 130.4 million. That would represent a 61.2% turnout rate, which is 1.1 points higher than 2004, but short of the 62.5% of 1968.

*** Blaming Republicans, not Democrats: Not only did Democrats win the White House and pick up additional House and Senate seats, they also accomplished this feat: For a second-straight cycle, not a SINGLE incumbent Democratic senator lost. In fact, the Cook Political Report’s Jennifer Duffy points out that this is the first time since at least 1908 (before the direct election of senators) that a party has gone through two consecutive cycles without losing a seat. What's more, after zero Democratic House members lost re-election in 2006, just four lost last Tuesday. And all four incumbents -- Nancy Boyda, Don Cazayoux, Tim Mahoney, and Nick Lampson -- were incredibly endangered. At a time when just some 10% approve of Congress' job, voters clearly blamed Republicans and the GOP, even though Democrats have controlled Congress for the past two years.

*** Just askin’: Is it surprising to anyone that the first sitting US senator to be elected president since 1960 served only four years in the Senate?

*** Tracking the transition: Below, we are keeping a list of all the different names that have been floated for possible cabinet jobs in an Obama Administration. And we’ll update it daily (even hourly) as soon as we hear new names.

Joe Scarborough made a mistake live on air. So what.

I remember many years ago I went on a job interview. I had been recommended by some educational big wig in the city I grew up in for this position. When I got back from the interview, this big wig was across a crowded room from me and gave me a look suggesting he wanted to know how the interview went. It went well, but because I didn’t want to yell across the room, I decided to just give him a thumbs up.  Instead I accidentally gave him the middle finger. Luckily he laughed it off. (I didn’t). These things happen.

I however do think it is a serious matter when Sarah Palin is being talked about as the savior of the Republican Party. Please keep in mind that according to reports, death threats towards President-elect Obama escalated when she began her rallies. She is not someone who could unite the GOP. She’s a nasty nasty woman. And not very intelligent.

There are many people over the years who have been great at rhetoric. That’s the easy part. People like to be entertained. But they’re not good at governing. These people are only good at trying to find enemies among their fellow Americans.

This is not leadership, as we all unfortunately discovered these last eight years.
*
Everyone needs to remember we have a lot of urgent issues that the next president will have to dive into.

Give him the needed time and space to tackle them.  They will not be fixed in a day or even a year.

It took 8 years to get into most of this crap...

GOD Bless the WORLD!

Beginning on Friday, Palin began holding interviews with the media, in which she began to defend herself from some of the damaging leaks about the shopping spree and her knowledge of world affairs, as well as simple geography.
*******************************************************

She has some serious damage-control to run if she has aspirations of running for president in 2012. Regardless of whether or not these allegations are true, she is facing some heavy attacks from WITHIN HER OWN PARTY.  That's never good for future elections.

http://thepajamapundit.com/
We know that Democrats and the MSM hate women. That was proven time and again with Hillary, and later with Palin. The trashing of Hillary was a little more subtle, a little more covert, because she was for liberal causes. Palin didn't enjoy that advantage, and the media lied about her, started rumors about her, and made it their life goal to destroy her. It is really pathetic how the left wing liberals of this country hate women.
That is so funny that Obama won one of Nebraska's electoral votes and now will go to 365-172 in electoral votes.

Is that "Sinner" Sarah watch a suicide watch?  If she's planning on running in 2012 then she's committing political suicide yet again.  When will that foolish shrew learn that the majority of real Americans hate her guts and will never tolerate her going anywhere near the White House except as a paying tourist?  I am so laughing at how her fellow repugnant ones are trashing her while we Democrats sit back and laugh.

shredders were shredding all through the night.
Files were deleted to be kept out of our sight,
no evidence left of the bushwhacker's blight!

By the way.....Obama has been a U.S. Senator for THREE years (Jan. 2005) NOT four!
...and of those three years, he's spent two of them campaigning for the Presidency.

"Eric: Spelling error. That's should be "Me". Voting yourself a raise puts you in that group."
Paul M., Virginia

Hey Paul Funny that you would project your sins of the past years voting for tax cut welfare for yourself upon me.  That's why you hypocrites lost because you are guilty of the evils you try to paint us Democrats with!

Share the wealth downwards with Robin Hood government!

Yes We Did!
*** Just askin’: Is it surprising to anyone that the first sitting US senator to be elected president since 1960 served only four years in the Senate?

Yeah, but it was probably one of the only ways a sitting Senator could win.  a Combination of very little baggage and a strike while the iron is hot strategy.  Why put off for six years what you can do successfully now?
Today "Brains" Obama meet "Bonehead" Bush!  Bet Obama will have a hard time having an intelligent conversation with the deadbeat in chief.  Michelle will get a more intelligent conversation with Laura.

The only thing the McCainiacs were right about was the lower turnout numner but they still lost by a whopping margin as real America has put the evangelical christian lunatic fringe in it's place.

Could be a bad time for repugnant ones in two years as it will be easy for Obama to look good after the worst president in history.

Yes We Did!
"The fact is, Obama owes much of his success to Bush. Without the president’s low approval ratings and his damage to the Republican Party’s brand, it’s doubtful that the nation would have taken a chance on someone named Barack Obama who was just four years removed from the Illinois state Senate."
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
While I understand why this is the "conventional wisdom", I don't feel that President-Elect Obama's success is strictly based on a backlash against President Bush.

President-Elect Obama won this election with his steady and intelligent leadership over the past 2 years, culminating in the 3 debates against John McCain where he demonstrated a mastery of the issues, empathy for what the American people are suffering through, and a pragmatic versus dogmatic approach to governing.

THAT is why he won the election, because he was the best candidate. He has worked hard to win the American people's trust, so let's not act like its some sort of fluke in hindsight. Nothing could be further from the truth.
A bit off subject...but I've been wanting to share this since Tues...

I was in Milwaukee for GOTV and one of the last of the thousands of doors I have knocked on over these months was answered by an African American woman who is the sole caretaker for her two elderly parents.  I asked if she had voted and she said yes but was wondering about getting her parents to the polls.  As we spoke and tried to come up with a solution (they are both wheelchair bound and her father is on oxygen) I was joined by my 3 canvassing partners.  We suggested that we would help her wheel her parents to the polling place which was about a block & a half away.  She asked for a few minutes to get them dressed so we told her we would be back in a half hour.

When we returned to lend her a hand she was in total disbelief that we actually came back.  In the meantime she had arranged for a medicar to help her with her parents. As I was saying good bye she hugged me and thanked me again with tears in her eyes.  She told me this truly is a new day in America!  You see the 4 of us Obama volunteers were middle aged white women who told her there was no way we were going to let her parents not vote in this truly historic election!  The hug she shared with me will never leave my soul!

I was lucky enough to get a ticket to Grant Park that nite and after leaving Milwaukee late that afternoon with very tired feet was there to see and experience the celebration which left me breathless! To my canvassing buddy Pat the Realtor THANK YOU again for that opportunity!!!

In closing I too want to thank Donna for the shout out {sooo glad to hear about you dad} and to also thank the regulars here: Nashville Fan - Pat Boston - Clara KC - Pete Albany - sotiredofingorance (now under a new name!) - The Demoratic Soldier - jawillie - Eric CA - Mark Thieme - CA Tuscaloosa - Diane from IL (hey neighbor) - Man Sized Safe TX - Ron Indiana - Jaycee CA - and the many many others who helped me maintain my sanity over the past year I THANK YOU!

Yes We Can.... AND YES WE DID!!!
Palin should just keep her mouth SHUT.  Everytime she speaks she weakens the Nation.
*** Just askin’: Is it surprising to anyone that the first sitting US senator to be elected president since 1960 served only four years in the Senate?

Did you ever wonder about Abe Lincoln???? and to answer your question...no I am not surprised...Obama was and is the best candidate for President! Isn't our country great!!!
"At a time when just some 10% approve of Congress' job, voters clearly blamed Republicans and the GOP, even though Democrats have controlled Congress for the past two years."
------------------------------------------------------
So, is the GOP actually going to learn from this?

If they think the answer is to move party philosophy even further to the Right, then obviously not.

While the gasbag pundits go on and on about how "Bipartisan" President-Elect Obama must be, they should also be reminding the remaining GOP congressfolk that their party could suffer additional losses in 2010- if they are perceived as standing in the way of getting things done.
Below, where?

I called Robin Carnahan's office on Friday to find out what was up with the MO count.  They have not certified (and won't until the 18th); but they are still counting provisional and absentee ballots.  Also, once certified, it could still run through a recount.  I'm too impatient for this!

Pat, Boston - I think you (and like minded inidividuals) should contact John Kerry's office and tell him to back down on a cabinet position.  With the uncertainty of Ted Kennedy's health, it would be unfortunate for MA to lose the seniority of BOTH Senators during this historic time.  MA has earned a right to be a leader in the Senate.  Just my two cents.  I noted this didn't come up with all the armchair quarterbacking that went on all weekend.  Just my two cents.  It seems wrong for Kerry to be pushing right now.
It is going to take time to undo all the harm Bush has instlled on our country and the American people.
He clearly favored big business and the religious
right with all his decisions, throwing middle class
America and the welfare of our country under the
bus.
Thank God we have a new president who cares about
the United States of America.
Linda In Kansas (Sent Monday, November 10, 2008 9:44 AM)

You must be delusional!  What rock have you been under?  Democratic men have fought louder and longer for women's rights and issues and apparently you've been under a rock.  Just this year McCain said he would not vote for Ledbetter's bill because it would be damaging to business.  And that if women wanted equal pay they would just need to get more training or education.  Republican men have, in general, diminished the role of women in business and continue to relegate women to 'kitchen duty' status.

It is so disengenuous to decry Democrats on this issue.  By a long shot women are not where they should be; but don't generalize and say it is the fault of Democrats.

As long as women are objectified and selected for their looks instead of their brains (Palin), then women will not be seen as equal.  This shows the cynicism of the Republican Party that they could just annoint the 'vagina vote'.  It was a stupid move.  And it 'paid off' in kind for them.
Good point about Obama being the first sitting senator elected since 1960 and only having a few years in the Senate. It makes me glad he ran now...there's something about spending years in the Senate that makes it hard to get elected president. Part of it is the long voting record, but Obama had a pretty long voting record in the State Senate that opponents could pick apart. I think the biggest problem for sitting senators is that they are kind of in a bubble in Washington and lose touch with the real world if they've been there too long. That makes them tone-deaf to the mood of the voters. I live in Washington, DC and I know firsthand that it's sometimes hard to relate to low-information voters because just about everyone I know lives and breathes politics like me and that's the culture here.
"We know that Democrats and the MSM hate women. That was proven time and again with Hillary, and later with Palin. ----
Linda, if you are so concerned about the way Palin was treated, why are you not up in arms about the way McCain's own aides are publicly trashing her? The stuff they have said about her is worse than anything that was said by any Democrats or the media.
Bush will be estactic to see Obama take the whitehouse, its now dirty and about to collapse from
the weight put on it by the republicians, not Bush he was allways just the front guy. Our new first lady will have to help clean it up and our new President will have to shift a lot of the weight to all those
robber barons who has caused the cracks that are begining to spread from the foundation to the roof. It will be a good meeting with soon to be X and the new.
Linda in Kansas, come on lady get real , it was the republicians who trashed your stupid VP nominee. Face it she is really not bright, no one will ever let her near the Whitehouse, not the republicans or the democrats, or especially the independants, they cant stand her, she hasnt the knowledge, she is grown shes
not going back to school, shes not going to get any smarter, shes only going to make the republicans look foolish. They wont stand for it.

J. Merle Stanley, Westchester, NY (Sent Monday, November 10, 2008 9:45 AM)

Actually, it is four.  He was elected in '04, sworn in '05 and will hold the seat until he resigns '09 to take the oath of office for President.  So, you see, that is 4 years.  He still showed up to vote on issues 200% more frequently than the guy who has been there for 26 years.  I hope you aren't using that calculator to do your taxes, 'cuz that's going to be a rude awakening.  Nice try, though.
Although Bush would never be able to admit he was wrong about so many things, think he would have a
hard time sleeping at night after what he and the
republicans have done to our country.
Do hope he is not allowed to make any decisions
concerning the future of our country in his
remaining days.
People
We have way to much work to do. This sight is suppose to be informative but since the election it has become a cat fight GOP against DEM. Can I make a suggestion that we all give Obama a chance. He has told all of those that did not support him he needs them. All of us who did vote for him we could follow his example and reach across and stop the BS
Isn't it ironic that Joe Scarbough was ranting about President Elect Barack Obama's joke about Nancy Reagan this morning throwing out red meat to the Republican base and then using one of the seven words you can't say on television. He should apologize to President Elect Obama.Everyone  makes a gaffe now and then including Morning Joe.
Can we finally put to rest the myth that Americans are madder at the Democratic Congress than they are with President Bush?  Numbers within the polls have always shown the disapproval mostly steming from people being as mad at Republicans in Congress and their obstructionist agenda as they are with the Republican in the White House.  Republicans lose big, two cycles in a row.  End of story.
To Linda in Kansas:
You might want to recheck your statement...Democrats hate women? I don't think that is considered correct. As far as Palin-she destroyed herself with her blatant lies, rallies inciting anger, and even in the face of facts out there continues to lie about all of it. Not a very good showing for a potential candidate who is female. Let's just hope that she stays in Alaska. An intellectually vapid, empty female running for high office is NOT what I would want in a candidate. The Republican party needs to get rid of the intolerance and exclusion of others and maybe they can start again. With Palin as the so-called "savior" of the party-you can forget it.
Drop this Palin bs please.  Covering her is no more of importance than Pais Hilton.  The only difference is Hilton is probably smarter.

There are republicans with brains out there and credible ideas.....she's not one of them.
I think when the Repubs get all re-organized, Sarah Palin will not even be a blip on their radar.  If she is, I hope she goes back to school or at least gets a tutor.  What is the name of that game show, "Are you smarter than a 5th Grader?"  Hmmm...I dont think so.
LINDA IN KANSAS.

YOU ARE SO FULL OF IT.  THE MEDIA DID NOT LIE ABOUT PALIN.  THE REPORTED FACTS.  SHE IS STUPID AS THEY COME.  I AM A 49 YEAR OLD WHITE WOMAN, AND I CAN SEE THAT YOU NEVER SAW THE KATIE COURIC INTERVIEW.  THAT WAS NOT NBC.  THAT WAS CBS, AND SHE JUST COULDN'T ANSWER SIMPLE QUESTIONS LIKE WHAT PERIODICALS SHE READ.  SHE COULD NOT COME UP WITH ONE NAME, NOT EVEN HER OWN ALASKA PAPER.  THAT SHOWS STUPIDITY.  SO DON'T GO CALLING THE MEDIA WOMEN HATERS.  I AM A WOMAN, AND I DO NOT FIND THAT TO BE TRUE.  I WAS NEVER FOR HILLARY CLINTON, NOT BECAUSE SHE WAS A WOMAN, BUT BECAUSE I DIDN'T LIKE HER BEHAVIOR, AND I REALLY LIKED OBAMA.  PALIN IS A DISGRACE TO WOMEN, AND SHE SHOULDN'T EVEN BE MENTIONED IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS CLINTON.  YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF.
you know, all the poor sports, we won now were gonna rub conservative noses in it is really quite contrary to the message that your candidate was speaking about during this entire election cycle.  a spirit of bi-partisanship doesn't start in washington, it starts wherever americans communicate with each other.

Obama was the first democrat i've ever voted for. he got my vote because of his post-partisan approach, and he got my support because the platform he outlined was best for America in my opinion.  i'll be the first to applaud him should he succeed in addressing the issues outlined, and the first to condemn him if he doesn't live up to my expectations.  The civility we need in our politics starts with us, and the left wing had better understand that compromise starts with the people, and works up into government.

if you don't act with a sense of bi-partisanship on message boards, forums, and other avenues of communication at home, and begin bridging the gap between left and right there, it will never translate into bi-partisanship in washington.

time to grow up for both sides and start finding areas of compromise.
Election 2008 is now over.  Transition is taking place.  Why are you reporting on defeated candidates?  Sarah Palin is digging deeper in the hole everytime she opens her mouth.  Enough is enough!
Today I woke up to Joe Scarborough dropping the "F" bomb on live TV.

I hope the fine is a big one.

Chuck Todd didn't miss a beat.  Well done.
It is really pathetic how the left wing liberals of this country hate women.
Linda In Kansas (Sent Monday, November 10, 2008 9:44 AM)

Linda - let's check the record...
Carter - 3 Women in the Cabinet
George HW Bush - 3 Women in the Cabinet
Clinton - 5 Women in the Cabinet
George W Bush - 7 Women in the Cabinet

Women are gaining more prominence with each new cabinet -

Linda, the conservatives trashed Palin...  Please re-direct your anger...
"Is it surprising to anyone that the first sitting US senator to be elected president since 1960 served only four years in the Senate?"

It is unfortunate but most voter are looking for a reason not to vote for someone and are unable to look at the big picture and weigh the pros and cons of a candidate.  It is better to have less of a record than more.  Someone with a long history is sure to have said or done something to offend someone on some pet issue.
FR: "But the bigger challenge for networks is how to present the red-blue map. Do we now have a blue dot where Omaha is? A blue circle?"

With all the challenges awaiting this new administration - which in all honesty is probably a failed administration before it takes office thanks to the mis-management of our leaders from both parties for decades - you guys are really worried about your electoral maps capturing that 365th elector?

FR: "Is it surprising to anyone that the first sitting US senator to be elected president since 1960 served only four years in the Senate?"

Not surprising to me. The Senate is a terrible place from which to draw a presidential nominee. First because over a lengthy Senate career there will be votes that seem contradictory (because so much crap gets bundled together in these bills). Second, senators debate a lot, and they have track records of being on pretty much every side of every issue. In this respect, there's no end to the stuff to use against a long-standing senator turned nominee. Just ask John Kerry.

The other point is that the two jobs are so different, with the Senate really offering no preparation for an executive position. Would Bob Dole have been a good executive? All indicators point to no. Same for McCain. They both, while successful in the Senate, seem to not get along with large organizations - and as we saw in their campaigns, even when that organization is their own.

Maybe the good news for us is we're getting Obama before he had been a senator for too long.
Palin will most certainly take a pay cut if she sppoints herself or is elected to  Steven's senate seat. $160K salary with no per diem, having to get a 2nd residence....she will make up the cost with a book and appearance but is this a risk worth taking at this time.
Keeping Gates at Defense (actually I just noticed there's a sorta pun in that) wouldn't be the worst idea. I suspect Obama was considering it even without Bush bringing up the notion.
Trickle down works because it takes requires that the best and the brightest people of our country to work hard and produce goods and service people need. These people cannot do all the work themselves though, so they must hire others to support their efforts. This is why trickle-down works. This is a producer type of an economy.

Trickle-up, i.e., taking money from the producers and giving (re-distributing it) to people that do not produce never works. That is a consumer economy. As more people consume without producing, then the costs of goods and services rises (inflation). This is exactly what economy Obama is advocating. It will never work, it never has.
Advice to Obama. Count your fingers after shaking Bush's hand.
How do you mark it?  Very easy, color the eastern fifth of the state blue.

You can't do a dot over Omaha, because that wouldn't work if the western congressional district was won by the Republican party.

1 out of 5 EV's:  1/5th of the state is blue
The Washington Post admits to their bias towards Obama and the Democrats for the last election. Will NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, NYTimes, et. al., be soon to follow?
Please!! I hope these devisive republicans choose DUMBO as their standard bearer. She is utterly unprepared to lead "anything" except maybe a Girl Scout's afternoon expedition to a local Hockey Match. (Yes, I am saying she is also painfully unqualified to be Governor of a state, even one as nutty as Alaska). Bring it On!! Let these right wing creationists choose Palin. She will be more of a laughing stock in 2012 running for the Presidency than she ever was in 08 running for VP. Run for President and prepare to REALLY be scrutinized and asked questions. She can't handle that!!!

If she has set her sights on running for Potus, then may I suggest she spend the entirity of the next four years, hold up for 15 hour days -- reading intensly, about world affairs, geography, national security, the US and other world economies, etc., etc. The RNC can't start soon enough on prepr work. THere is MUCH to do!! lol.

Instead of buyin g her pretty dresses and baubles, maybe they can get her a four year supply of the strongest espresso coffee on the planet, along with a few wall maps of various countries, and lock her dumba$$ in a room until she "at least" learns Africa is a continient and not a country.

Please oh please.....make Sarah Palin the leader of the Republican party!!! What fun we shall all have then!
Hint to (MS)NBC: Drop the Palin coverage, the election is over with.  All she is now is an attention whore.  You've spent the last three months attacking her (for good reason), now you want to hear what she has to say about it?  Why?  The people spoke.  You remind me of a criminal returning to the scene of the crime.

Let it go, for crying out loud!
Yeah, but it was probably one of the only ways a sitting Senator could win.  a Combination of very little baggage and a strike while the iron is hot strategy.  Why put off for six years what you can do successfully now?

KC WC, PA (Sent Monday, November 10, 2008 9:51 AM)

Exactly correct. The Democrats essentially ran a college professor with no record. Add in a willing media that ignored the fact the man had done nothing in his political career, throw in that the election is 'historic' in that Obama is a minority, and presto, an extreme liberal now sits in the White House. May God have mercy on our souls, and wallets.
To J. Merle Stanley from Westchester, NY

You are absolutely correct on both counts.  And you know what else?

He won the Presidency!
I wonder if Bush mentioned how he plans to pardon himself and the rest of his criminal conspiracy?

The financial crisis also works in Bush's favor - with all that is going on, the public will probably just say "yeah, yeah, fine - just get out of here" when a man who should be held up as an exanmple of what happens to abusers of power will slide of to Paraguay, and Chicken Dick will go to his country, Dubai. Bush can party with ex-Nazis and "The Dick" can have some tea with the other sponsers international terrorists.

You heard it here first: Bush will pardon himself.
Just asking : Isn't it time to fire Joe Scarborough? We change the channel alla time cuz of him.

He is sooo in love with his own voice, but we're not. The show is going to start losing guests, because he never lets any of them speak. After he expresses one of his idiot opinions, shared by none, he repeates it louder and louder every time anyone else tries to speak. Mika should save her reputation and leave the show if it's not too late. A

ND DO NOT expect us to listen to Joe Scarborough lecture ANYONE about journalism. He is simply a hack, has-been, who couldn't get re-elected to Congress a long time ago... He is NOT a journalist. If he were, he would know that one doesn't use the F-word on television without consequences (we hope).
To Linda in Kansas -- I agree there's still a ways to go for women to be treated equally in this county, but to say ALL liberals and the entire MSM hate women is a major overstatement. Part of what caused Hillary to lose the primaries (and I supported her at that time) was the fact that so many people, especially Repubs but Dems, too, simply hate the Clintons. Hillary came so close to winning that had she run the almost flawless campaign Obama did she would have won. And I can't believe you're blaming "women-haters" for bringing down Palin. McCain should never have picked her as his running mate because she isn't qualified. I don't believe she's as dumb as she's being made out to be, but I also don't think she's the sharpest knife in the drawer, and that's what we need to deal with the current state of the country and the world.
Chuck, I guess fivethirtyeight.com got a scoop on you, they have a map with 365 fairly well shown right now.
Yo J. Merle,

It's four years. You can't simply subtract 2005 from 2008. You must include 2005. That means 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 Obama was in the senate. Glad to see the intelligence level McCain voters have.
