From NBC's Mark Murray
First Read has learned that Sarah Palin will attend this week's Republican Governors Association meeting in Miami, where she will hold a press conference and deliver a speech.

Video: In a news conference held with reporters late Friday, Gov. Sarah Palin answered some of the controversy generated during the last weeks of the presidential campaign. NBC's Brian Williams reports.

This RGA event is drawing particular interest because 1) it will start the conversation about what the GOP needs to do to get its groove back after losing last week's presidential contest; and 2) it will kick off the speculation about the 2012 presidential race.

Other attendees at the meeting include: Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, and South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford. (California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn't been confirmed.)

Below is a schedule of the open-press events at the meeting:
WEDNESDAY.
1:15-1:45 p.m. Governors Luncheon featuring Governor Tim Pawlenty.
2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Plenary Session I: "An in-depth evaluation of the 2008 election cycle." Featured speakers include Governor Bobby Jindal, Governor Haley Barbour, Governor John Hoeven, Byron York, Dr. Frank Luntz, and Dr. William Bennett.
4:10 - 5:00 p.m. Press Roundtable featuring Ambassador Rob Portman, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, Gov. Tim Pawlenty, and Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr.
7:30 - 8:30 p.m. Welcome Reception featuring Governor Haley Barbour.

THURSDAY.
9:40 - 10:00 a.m. Press avail with Governor Sarah Palin.
10:00 - 11:45 a.m. Plenary Session II: "Looking Toward the Future." Remarks by Governor Sarah Palin. Featured speakers include General Tommy Franks (U.S. Army-Ret.), Rep. Mike Pence, Dr. William Kristol, Governor Tim Pawlenty, Governor Mark Sanford.
12:30 Press Roundtable: Discussion with Governors Charlie Crist, Rick Perry, Haley Barbour, and Mark Sanford.
7:00 - 9:00 p.m. State Dinner: Speeches delivered by Governor Rick Perry and Governor Charlie Crist.

Running for the next election not even a week after the previous one is complete. The Democrats would never do that . . . . .
They can hold that in the coat closet...Love to be a fly on the wall and hear all the back room deals on how to pump up a dying part.
That Wasilla Hillbilly sure is a glutton for punishment as she begins her masochistic return to the lower 48!  The smartest thing she could do is to lay low and keep her ignorant mouth shut.  She's just going to make a fool of herself on NBC!

"Eric: Spelling error. That's should be "Me". Voting yourself a raise puts you in that group."
Paul M., Virginia

Hey Paul when you accuse someone of a spelling error you shouldn't start off your clueless projection rant with a spelling error.  "That's" should be "That" so try a remedial English class!

"Eric, you are representative of EVERYTHING wrong with this country"
Scott, Louisville, Co

Hey Scott it's been your clueless crowd that has screwed up our country and economy for 8 years so you are the one who is representative of everything wrong with our country.  Glad to know my comments are getting to you!

Yes We Did!
Does Ms Palin get to take her kid along with her?
::: Liberals coming out with unmitigated hate for women in 5, 4, 3, 2, . . . . .:::::
WHO CARES!  She is old "news"....let her go...please let her go!

Is it really necessary to report her comings / goings?

Save the Space for important topics...please.

Well I see the GOP's a road to quick recovery - LOL!! What a whack job she is!! It will take more than a decade, if even possible, for the GOP to come back and I'm savoring every moment!!

Well I guess we'll be seeing more of Tina Fey!!

Wonders if Sarah realizes that she won't need a passport when she lands in Miami.
I hope the mood of this event will be a positive, forward-looking one (and not a pity-party or let's-attack-the-Dems) -- otherwise, they might as well not waste our time.
Please, no!
There certainly is an effort from the Democrats and the liberal news media to destroy this woman, and to do so as quickly as possible. They're afraid of something, and more then likely for a lot of reasons. If they really thought she was such a klutz, they'd leave her alone and be assurred the American people would never vote for her. But that doesn't seem to be the case now does it?
Interesting: Gov Pawlenty was mentioned several times and Gov Palin twice - one of which time with the reporters and not part of the agenda.

Could it be she is being frozen out of the loop? The Gov of Louisiana is new and certainly has more 'smarts' than demonstrated by the Gov of Alaska.
Please tell me this is not the beginning of the 2012 election!
ALASKA WE ARE WARNING YOU  KEEP HER OUT OF THE LOWER 48, ESSPECIALLY FLORIDA!!!!
Don't be surprised if Texas Guv Rick Perry is in the running for 2012... he's been making himself look like a rock star with all the Hurricane relief and his hair has reached utter perfection.
Closing the barn door after the fact.  Who cares?
This is where Sarah meets her Waterloo. They(the other republicans) are going to eat her alive! She will look like the amateur that she really is in front of the likes of Meg Whitman, Pawlenty, Crist and all the others.  It's like feeding the Christians to the lions.  This woman can't put a coherent sentence together! I don't think she has the capacity to learn what it is she needs to know in a lifetime let alone four years.  It just ain't in her.
Sarah Palin is hateful and vile much like the entire Republican party. I love Barack Obama and would gladly bow before him if we were ever to meet.
If Palin thinks she has a shot at the 2012 nomination, she's insane. Unlike the Democrats, her fellow Republicans will have no qualms about tearing her down in the primaries. They'll bring up all the stuff the media didn't go after this time; her involvement with Alaskan secessionists, her inexperience, and replays of her CBS/ABC interviews. The Republicans fight dirty and turn on each other like sharks. In 2012, it'll be Romney, Jindal, or Jeb Bush. Giulani, Huckabee, and Fred Thompson are done.
Will we never see the end of her?
If Palin would just keep her mouth shut, she'd be a lot easier to fantasize about.
Gawd, I bet Palin thinks the party is going to back her for 2012.  The sad part is that she doesn't even have a clue why she is such a turn off for so many because her arrogance is so out of control.

McCain's concession speech proved that he understands but I'm willing to bet that Palin doesn't have a clue.
as a suppoter of the Democratic Party...

PLEASE MAKE PALIN THE FACE OF THE GOP...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Looks like this shindig can use a circus clown, a contortionist,  and a couple of motivational speakers. Poor bastards, doesn't really matter what they say or do.....
It's amazing how the media were so blind to endorse a man that had no political record, was as socialist as they come, had no experience, and is still a complete unknown. In fact, I don't think Obama even knows who he is because the media built him up to be what they wanted him to be. Barack is nothing but a fabrication build up by the media, almost a parody of what the media believes to be the 'perfect' candidate.

Palin on the hand as a list of accomplishments, she is appealing to a lot of people, we know where she stands on all the issues, but yet the media works day in and day out to destroy her. Quite a bit of bias there don't you think?
Sarah Palin only appealed to the Republican base which is a dwindling, regional group with radical rightwing views. It they think she's the future, the dems will have it all to themselves for many years.
The "stories" about her ring all too true and these will be hard to live down - but the Republicans can follow through with another doomed run in 2012 if that's the best they can come up with!
Well easy win for the Dem in 2012, if she attempts to run again.
She going to bring the children and the "first dude" with her? On the state's coin, I'm sure!
So who is paying for this trip? Is the whole family going to makng this junket? Republicans if you want some semblance of order and dignity in your party again I would suggest you distance yourself from this "maverick" which was THE worst political mistakes you folks made. The republican party will not be as it once was (thank goodness). I'd say the American people pretty much told you what we thought of your plans, filthy campaigningetc. I will never forget the divisiveness that Palin caused along with the lies, lack of basic civics, and truly no principles.
i have only a two questions. will she wear her NEW CLOTHES and will she DRAG HER WHOLE FAMILY with her ???
I wonder whose clothes she will be wearing to the event?  Check the labels.
Oh NO! I wish she would stay in Alaska.

Her divisive role in the campaign was really frightening.

On looking back on everything—I realize that McCain's bad attitude was play-acting and part of what he felt he HAD to do. Not that it makes it right!

Palin's role was real and she enjoyed every moment of race-baiting and hate mongering.

We are ready to move on from that.  Also.....

Why are all of these religious folks so bent on hate and divisiveness? It does not seem Christain or American to me.
Sarah Palin's politcal future is over. She may will finish her term as Governor of Alaska or may even end up with Stevens Senate seat. But she will not go any further in politics. She may still remain a bit popular with a very small number of the republican base but those who run the republican party and others wanting to lead the republican party in the future (Romney, Huckabee, Patawkey, Gingrich and others)will publically kindly dismiss her while privately making sure she goes back permanently to where she can see Russia from her back door. And if they do then we can thank the Republicans for at least one thing. And that is keeping Palin as far away as possible from any kind of influential national politcal position or role. As for the pundits who still give her credit for charging up the base. There is a huge difference between intelligence and appealing to the mindless emotions of a group of people.
I wonder if there is an interpreter there for those who seek to understand what Gov Palin is saying also, too, under the umbrella of moving forward a party which she so tried to reign in under the crazy hipnotic speakatude.

I kinda miss the daily dose of lunacy she provided, but am forever grateful to all of the others who chose to vote for smarts over entertainment.

What a braintrust this meeting promises to be.....I trust Keith will give us the highlights!
Sarah will be wearing more than two (2) towels?

What is the fascination with this lying corrupt, female Governor?

Sarah, when top aides Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter went to brief, you, the fit 44-year-old Alaska governor in your hotel room at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul you were wearing two (2) towels only!!!
It gets even worst; Sarah you told them… to chat with your husband, the First Dude (oops I meant First Pimp) Todd. I’ll be just a minute.”

I'm so glad Michelle Obama is a real classy woman to make us proud. Soon to be First Lady Michelle Obama knows how to dress!
ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZZzzzZZZzzzzZZZZ...maverick...ZZZZzzzzZZZZZZzzZZZzzzzZZZZ
I am guessing Ahhhnold has his hands full with the GLAB riots that are ensuing.

So it took a swing and a miss for Palin to do Press Avails?
-------------
in an earlier post someone said Obama doesn't 'owe anyone'.  I take issue with that.  I donated roughly $1200.  I was really hoping he would address that pothole in front of my house.  Okay, bad humor; but for those who've been posting here for over six months, it should at least make you laugh.

I'm actually pretty tired of the speculation game.  Obama is doing exactly what he said he would do which was UNDO all of the constitutionally questionable shenanigans Bush/Cheney pulled with half of the bills they signed.  Executive Orders and Signing Statements were a bunch of crap - and we all know it.  What I am hoping, on some level, is that by 'undoing the crap' we end up with the grounds we've needed to bring Bush/Cheney up on abuse of power charges.  Now THAT would be true 'justice'.

Palin has chutzpah, I'll give that to her. I wonder how many tomatos she gets thrown at her?  Nice the GOP has a living reminder of their ignominious defeat out there posturing for 2012! It makes us dems feel good about the next ten or twenty years. Palin will get the lunatic fringe, witch-hunter vote, and I sincerely hope the GOP stays with that losing idea for many years to come, instead of comingtotheir senses and realizing that having a "whack-job" twinkie carry your banner is a formula for defeat, since the lunatic fringe that supports her is NOT enough to win an election, either state or national. Let's hope Gingrich tries his now-distained laissez-faire Capitalism on a country that still remembers the Wall St. meltdown---and let's hope he has Palin as his loose-canon running mate. Democrat rule (and democracy) FOREVER!!
Please Sarah keep talking! 70 percent of GOP voters may want you to run in 2012, but 100 percent of us democrats want you to! You cant win an election with only 1/3 of the nation supporting you, and thats the republican base. Democrats will never support her, and she scares moderates and independents away.
Sarah Palin speaks in a simplistic style reminiscent of Miss Nancy of Romper Room.  Her comprehension of the complexities of foreign relations is appallingly lacking, as though she attained her knowledge of world affairs from a comic book.  (Good guys vs. bad guys?  Really?)

And her inability to speak extemporaneously on matters of domestic or foreign policy is frightening.  Every time she went off script during a stump speech or interview, the McCain campaign had to go into damage control mode.

A Palin run for the Presidency in 2012 would be the best possible decision...for the Democrats.
Well, I would think Palin would talk about what not to do when running for office.
For example she instigated hate, fear, anger and
fueled the radicals with her campaigning. She
did more to divide our nation that any candidate
I know. She was evil, sleezy and put her ambitions
above honor, integrity. She spewed one lie after
another.
How anyone would put any substance into what this
woman says is beyond me.

* Waves to Feisty Redhead!*

Thanks for the mention and thanks to YOU and all the other people who were able to volunteer for the Obama campaign and serve as foot soldiers for change!

One of my great regrets is that I wasn't able to do MORE for the campaign - I gave until it hurt - but I didn't get to volunteer (due to my husband's travel schedule).
What really bothers me about Palin's interview last Friday was this: she did not begin by congratulating President-Elect Obama, and she referred to him as "one of the guys".   Sarah - he is not one  of the guys, Barack Obama is your next President.  This says so much about this woman, her lack of grace in defeat and her lack of class altogether.  I sincerely hope that the Republicans try to run her in 2012, because it will be so much fun to watch her final demise...at her own ignorant hands.
of course, she will take no questions. cowardice personified.
but if she does take questions, how about she answers why none of the advisors in her "camp" told her that it is highly inappropriate for the veep candidate to speak at the nominee's concession speech? why did they not shoot that one down before it even reached john mccain?

john mccain will rue the day he released sarah palin unto the republican party. she is fast becoming HIS legacy.
don't worry, sarah. the republican party is very forgiving of embarrassments...just ask dan quayle and katherine harris.

Average White Guy (Sent Monday, November 10, 2008 1:10 PM)

Dear Average White Guy:

First of all, McCain betrayed American when he selected her; second, she should have turned down the offer.  She is not qualified to be governor let alone vice president.  She also put her own ambitions before her family; her daughter was thrown into the media spotlight because Sarah Palin cared about Sarah Palin. Next, it's been members of her own Party that have torn her apart, justifiably I add.  And her rallies turned into hate rallies and President-Elect Obama's life was threatened as a direct result of her mob mentality rhetoric.  She's a nasty and evil woman who has is receiving exactly what she deserves.  The woman has no shame!!

And excuse me; however, Palin has a list of ZERO accomplishments; she had the audacity to insult the job of a community organizer, who utilized these skills to connect with millions of Americans.  Palin has done zero!! President-Elect Obama, on the other hand, was a State Senator for a decade and a US Senator.  Give it a rest; the election is over and Barack Obama was given a clear mandate by the American people, whom I am SO proud of for doing the right thing!!

And PS:  Pat from Boston - HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long time, friend!! I'm so thrilled!! After eight long years, we finally have our country back, well, soon!!

As I said in a previous post about Sarah Palin - There is a mighty big difference between being a maverick and being a loose cannon.

(Wonder if Jethro will be wearing his new duds to the Florida Conference....)
Sarah Palin??? Does the GOP have anyone better to look up too???? Come one!
As a Louisiana independent voter, I voted for both Booby Jindal and Barack Obama because both are intellugent men who do not lower themselves to the mean-spirited politics that has become all too familiar. Hopefully the GOP will realize what a liability this stupid and arrogant woman is to them,
