First thoughts: Palin-palooza

*** Palin-palooza: Just in case you didn't get enough of Palin during the final two months of the election, she is now conducting another round of national interviews, including one with NBC’s Matt Lauer that aired this morning on TODAY. (She told Lauer she was disappointed she wasn’t able to give a concession speech so she could brag up McCain; she was “flabbergasted” about the shopping spree story, saying she had never asked people to buy her anything; and she said that she didn’t want to get into “inside-baseball strategy” when asked whether the McCain camp did a poor job managing her interview requests.) Then later this week, Palin heads to the Republican Governors Association meeting in Miami, where she will hold a press conference, give a speech, and stoke further speculation about a possible 2012 presidential bid. All of this comes just ONE WEEK after the GOP presidential ticket lost. (By comparison, McCain goes on Leno tonight to give his first interview since losing.) No doubt Palin still remains a compelling story. And, as we wrote yesterday, she also has to defend herself to protect her reputation -- especially since Alaska is so far away. But at what point does this Northern Exposure become too much? And when do Alaskans begin demanding that, after two months on the trail, she return to her day job full time?

*** Traditionalists vs. reformers: All the attention on Palin comes as David Brooks today writes about a divide in the Republican Party between Traditionalists (many of whom champion Palin) versus the Reformers (who want a more inclusive, modern, and moderate GOP). Brooks argues that -- at least in the short term -- the Traditionalists are going to win. “There is not yet an effective Republican Leadership Council to nurture modernizing conservative ideas. There is no moderate Club for Growth, supporting centrist Republicans… Reformist Republican donors don’t seem to exist. Any publication or think tank that headed in an explicitly reformist direction would be pummeled by its financial backers. National candidates who begin with reformist records — Giuliani, Romney or McCain — immediately tack right to be acceptable to the power base.” By the way, NBC’s Ana Maria Arumi crunched exit poll numbers on Palin for David Gregory’s “1600” on MSNBC. The results: The voters who found her to be qualified to be president were Republicans (74%), from the South (45%), and from rural areas (45%). She greatly underperformed among college grads (35%), independents (35%), and in the suburbs (40%).

*** Will he stay or will he go? This has become one of more talked-about questions in Washington: Will Bob Gates remain as Defense secretary in an Obama Administration? NBC’s Jim Miklaszewski reports that, per sources familiar with the transition game plan, the Obama folks would like for Gates to stick around for around nine months before a Democratic deputy secretary takes over. But a Defense official tells Mik that Gates would not want to be seen as simply a "transitional" or "holdover" Defense secretary. The official says if the Obama Administration imposed a specific timetable for a departure, Gates could immediately be labeled a "lame duck" secretary -- whose authority could be easily dismissed or even undermined by the new team of Democratic appointees. If anyone could pull it off, Mik writes, it would be Gates. But to make sure, Gates would likely ask that the timetable for any extended term in the Pentagon be loosely defined as "under four years," giving both Obama and Gates the necessary wiggle room for a gradual but smooth and orderly transition. And that, Mik adds, has always been Gates' ultimate objective, whether he leaves or stays. Our two cents: If all they are working out is a timeline, and this isn’t a staffing issue, then this deal might get done.

*** Obama’s performance with white voters: We took a look at Obama's performance with white voters in all 50 states. In 13 of them, Obama received less than 35% of the white vote. His three lowest performing states: Alabama (10%), Mississippi (11%), and Louisiana (14%). The other 10: GA (23%), SC (26%), TX (26%), OK (29%), AR (30%), UT (31%), AK (32%), WY (32%), ID (33%), and TN (34%). On the other hand, Obama won the white vote in 18 states and DC: CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, HI, IL, IA, ME, MA, MI, MN. NH. NY. OR, RI, WA, WI and VT. Obama's lowest percentage of the white vote he received in a state that he won: NC (35%). The highest percentage of the white vote Obama received in a state he lost: MT (45%).

*** McCain’s underperformance: Channeling John Harwood of CNBC and the New York Times, we also looked at the state-by-state vote totals. And we found that Obama’s wins in many battlegrounds weren’t solely a result of Obama increasing Kerry’s totals from 2004; they were also because McCain’s performance was DOWN from Bush’s in 2004. (See our “Unbuilding 2008” section for the stats here.) In short, we saw a one-sided rise in turnout. Had McCain's turnout increased at the same rate as Obama's in many of the battleground states, we would have topped 140 million, which was the argument some in the McCain campaign were making. They needed a HUGE turnout -- and they didn’t get it.

*** The Graduate(s): Number crunchers have already unpacked the college split for this election cycle to show Obama's gains among grads. (In 2004, 42% of voters nationwide were college graduates, and they split equally for John Kerry and George W. Bush. This time, that number was boosted to 44%, and the vote broke 53%-45% in the Democrat's favor.) But consider this: In 2008, college-educated voters outnumbered non-college grads at the polls in eleven states (CO, VA, NH, PA, NJ, CT, MD, NY, MA, VT, and DC). Barack Obama won all of them -- by an average of more than 24 percentage points. In states that McCain won, on average, 42% of voters were college grads. In states that Obama won, on average, 47% had a college diploma.

*** The remaining races: The likely December 2 run-off in Georgia between incumbent Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R) and challenger Jim Martin (D) is charging full speed ahead. The National Republican Senatorial Committee has a new Web video arguing that Martin win could mean 60 votes and a rubber stamp for Obama (although that assumes that Stevens and Coleman will lose in Alaska and Minnesota). Moreover, Huffington Post reports that Obama is dispatching aides to Georgia to help Martin. And it appears that GOP big-wigs, including McCain, will campaign for Chambliss.

*** He’s baaaack…: The AP writes, "Two-time presidential candidate John Edwards is returning to the public stage for a speech, three months after he acknowledged an affair with a woman hired to produce videos of him in 2006. Edwards is scheduled speak Tuesday night about the election at Indiana University. The school said the public lecture will also include a question-and-answer session."

On Joe Lieberman. If memory serves me right and I apologize if this has already been brought up, but didn’t Senator Obama go up to Connecticut in 2006 to campaign FOR Senator Lieberman when Lieberman asked him to?

If this is correct and I believe it is, then Senator Obama owes Senator Lieberman nothing for the way he conducted himself during the presidential campaign this year.

As you can imagine, it’s going to be a thrilling day on January 20, 2009. I have read reports that upwards of 5 million people are expected to make the trek to DC. I hope you all think about it. I couldn’t get hotel reservations, so I decided to bring my granddaughters just for the day, hoping at least they’ll get a chance to see President Obama as he passes by in the parade. We won’t be able to get near the Capitol grounds for the swearing in unfortunately.

But it is going to be a historic day and it’s only about a 90 minute flight down there so we’re going for it. We’ll get in @ 8:30 AM and leaving @ 9 PM. I just want to give them a memory they can take with them for the rest of their lives.

I hope anyone who is within distance of DC doesn’t get turned off by the crowds or lack of hotels. Just going for the day and enjoying the atmosphere may be enough (provided it isn’t too cold).

It’s a once in a lifetime moment. Especially for the children. It is afterall their future that is at stake.
I can't stand all the attention the media is fawning on that most despicable of crooked politicians, the Wasilla Hillbilly.  I just turn off MSNBC tv whenever they show that disgusting ugly creature from the Black Lagoon and watch something more intelligent.  Just say No to the Wasilla Hillbilly!

It is so nice to see the repugnant one's party shrinking because they are turning off voters who are intelligent and caring.

Yes We Did!
Two-time presidential candidate John Edwards is returning to the public stage for a speech, three months after he acknowledged an affair with a woman hired to produce videos of him in 2006. Edwards is scheduled speak Tuesday night about the election at Indiana University.

Yay!  Tabloid political stories will triumphantly return to my TV and Internet browser!  [/sarcasm]

For a man that won the presidency on symbolism, the fact that he's now going to send his children to private schools says a lot about him. Here is man that has fought and protected the public school system, given paybacks to the teachers unions, but when it's time for him to show he personally supports the schools, Obama cuts and runs. And for good reason. The public schools in this country are the very defintion of a monopoly. Poor results, lousy staff, worn out buildings, and in many places just plain dangerous to enter. But, these schools are good enough for the common families, but not even close to good enough for the symbolic President.
I've had enough of Ms. Palin. I was so looking forward to having her (and her moose stew) sink back into obscurity after the election. Sigh.
PE-Obama would not have won without: whites, blacks, latinas and many other ethnic groups that voted for him and I am sure PE-Obama appreciates all the support.

Loved Keith Olbermann's "special comments" segment. He is the best!
Man poor Sarah Palin, somebody needs to tell Sarah it is better to remain quiet and be thought a fool than to open her mouth and remove all doubt. She just keeps getting better and better. I see why the McCain camp called her a wack job.
Palin must be destroyed. It's a good thing we have a liberal press to do it, because if the Democrats had to do it themselves, they'd look petty and weak. Where as Obama is a great symbol for the Presdiency, it's obvious that he doesn't have a clue how to get anything done for anyone. Palin has the experince to move the country in a positive direction, and because of that she poses a real threat to the Democrats.
John Edwards can teach the college students how to cheat on their spouses. It should be a fascinating speech to listen to.
The "Dizzy Diva" is a waste of time to interview, and should not be given anymore TV time. "Puppet Palin" is a disgrace to our nation, her party, and to rational political policy. "Puppet Palin" needs to move on with her life, and she needs to understand that her ignorance of facts is a real problem for her. She has proven to have no problem being untruthful, misquoting people, passing blame, and "spewing" divisionary politics of fear across our nation. The political pain that "Puppet Palin" has put upon our nation must be ended quickly. What a joke!!
Why not give SecofDefense to Powell? He hasn't been right yet about anything, so he should fit in well in the Obama administration. Plus it would be a nice payback to him from Obama because that's how things are done in Washington. And here you all thought Obama was going to bring "change" to Washington.
PALIN'S PROBLEM

Sarah Palin's problem is that she never admits that anything was her fault.  It is always someone else.  I know I makes lots of mistakes - and sometimes I admit them.  I bet she makes mistakes too.  However, to hear her tell it - everyone else is wrong, not her.

It does not serve her well to never admit to an error.  American does not truth that kind of leader.

For example, if she had just come out and did a Ronald Reagan on the Troopergate mess, it would have gone away.  She could have said, "You know, I never intended to step over the line regarding Trooper Wooten in an effort to protect my family, but others who have looked at the facts have said otherwise.  While I can not see it, the others must be right and I apologized to the citizens of Alaska."

Unless she learns who to admit mistakes, she will not go far in politics.
According to the latest numbers, 24% give Bush a favorable job rating, and 16% think the US is in great shape. Did you ever wonder who those people were? I have been quite puzzled about them. We have just endured eight years of catastrophic incompetance, and yet there are pinheads out there who believe everything is just fine. I don't know a single person who would even give Bush a D- rating,  yet alone say he was doing a "heck of a job" for us.

Those Bush fans are not hiding. They are actual breathing residents of the US. I found them--all of them! They have the right to vote, have a driver's license, and are permitted to reproduce more of the same. They didn't just surface, they've been under our noses all along.

Fox News hosts an internet message board similar to this; and for pure comedy, please visit and read some of the postings. By some, I mean that anyone with an IQ above a petunia won't get past three or four. While hilarious in substance, they are also scary in the ignorance (not just grammar and spelling) displayed by the responders.

So my mystery has been solved.

The 24% who think Bush is a world-class leader, and the 16% who think everything is great, are a blend of right wing religious nut cakes, Dick Cheney's corporate pals, and assorted low (very low) information voters. And "you betcha" they think Sarah Palin is not only intelligent, honest, and well informed! (At least she--and here kin-folk--are now well-dressed thanks to the RNC's stupdiity in squandering tax payer funding. But shucks, Jethro is a sight to see in Armani.)

But I digress.............

Palin is still in the lime light because the media/ap
makes it so. During the campaign she got more attention and headlines than all the others put together. You continuously shoved her down our
throats.
If you want to headline her than do so by checking into and exposing all the discrepancies, questionable actions and contant lies she has told.
Our country certainly doesnot need a palin.
Dear Symbolism Rocks:  You DO know, don't you that President Elect Obama does support charter schools?  I would think that any reasonable parent would make the best choice possible for their daughters, and to make that into any kind of issue is ridiculous.  One of the considerations will have to be the ability of a school to accept the protections that the Secret Service provides.  The school with the most experience doing that is Sidwell Friends.

Why don't you allow them to make the family decisions they must make without turning it into a gotcha moment?
"Just in case you didn't get enough of Palin during the final two months of the election..."
------------------------------------------------------
Many of us are sick of hearing about her.  YOU obviously aren't, Mark.  Maybe when the ratings reflect America's Palin-fatigue, you guys will start reporting on real news?

Hopefully, the people of Alaska will start turning a critical eye on their grifting Governor.  Like, also, could ya figure out why Alaskans had to foot the bills for the whole dang family to travel on "State business"?  Sounds fishy, don'tcha think?
Based on the media coverage after the election, one would thing that President Elect Obama was running against Sarah Palin instead of John McCain.

It is a shame that Senator John McCain allowed himself to become a footnote in his own campaign. It is hard to interpret his silence after the election. What must he feel about the way the party he has served all these years has not only turned its back on him, but also on many of the things he has fought for much of his life?

I did not want John McCain to be President of the United States. But somehow, it seems like he deserves just a little more respect than he is now receiving, especially from Sarah Palin.
If Palin runs for national office again, it makes it easy for me as an Independent to vote Democrat. She does NOT represent women like myself in anyway! I am a pit bull mother and grandmother, but pro choice. Let's separate church and state once and for all.
Symbolism Rocks (Sent Tuesday, November 11, 2008 9:38 AM)

Dude he has to send them to private school they have security threats. Some nuts are actually out there .

MSNBC yall need to muzzle Morning Joke. Hey has become an even bigger depressant since the Election than before.  He is a very whiny man and that is not cool.
On the clothes doesnt she sound like.

Oh! you didnt have to buy me that. It really is beautiful, but you shouldnt have.

In other words. Oh this is so cool!
I'm sick of Palin, personally---if I never see her Barbie face or hear her sqeaky-Fromme voice again, it'll be too soon---but as a Dem, I'd love to see this woman gum up the GOP's works for the next 2-4 years.  I truly believe this woman has below-average intelligence and a personality disorder, thus making her the perfect candidate for uneducated, rural America. Fortunately, though, this group is small and aging and shrinking fast.  So I'd LOVE to see a Traditionalist candidate like Palin who only appeals to this tiny group of backwards inbreds!  PALIN IN 2012!!  As long as you in the press egg her on and give her attention, she's going to be deluded into thinking she can be a future president, so...GO NEWS MEDIA!!
Sarah Palin has yet in any opportunity in front of the cameras, & she is making sure she has alot of camera time, congratulated President-elect Barack Obama.  She is a cad.  On the Today Show interview you can see just how slick this woman is.  She answers questions not by answering them, but by stating the closest thing to the truth that will suffice & Matt Lauer let her get away with it..more than once!

The most telling and heartbreaking piece of the interview though was with sweet little Piper.   When Matt Lauer asked, Piper expressed how hard it had been to miss so much school, and that it was very difficult to catch up.  When he asked Piper if she would want to campaign again, she hesitated, until Mama Shark jumped in and asked her if it had been fun on the campaign trail SISTER, and Piper then couldn't answer yes fast enough.  This poor child is being used & manipulated by this horrible woman.  Is SISTER code for you better agree with me or else?

Last Friday Palin stated that she had no clothes from the campaign home with her...yet today she told Matt Lauer she spent the weekend filling up boxes (plural) to be sent back.  Which is it?  Did she only admit this because her father let it slip in an interview that that is what she was doing over the weekend?  She lies just to lie. And she truly believes the rest of us are too stupid to realize it.
How do you spell relief in Alaska...

Natural gas in your pipes...BP and Canadain pipeline companies are going to clean up on our next hunger for energy.. (Senator) Palin is another blessing that keeps on giving bullsh!t answers to who cares problems...
The best new political term to come out of the 2008 election:

Palined:[paylined](Verb):to be diminished, pulled down,a strain on something
If Sarah Palin stands for what is right so... much, then why did she sleep with Todd's buisness partner? To her, her coming to the lower 48 be considered her foriegn policy experience! This person should be out of the spotlight! She is a pathetic liar! Should the investigation of her be put off because she is a politician? God Forbid! She is still a power hungry WITCH....
I don't know about you...but I am Palin'd out!  She is in her own realty about things....and that is sad...the people who have interviewed her have been so soft ball it's pathetic...look who it was...on CNN the reporter who followed the entire campaign...who looks like he has a crush on her...Matt Lauer who soft ball the questions...like "ah shucks" type...Greta on Fox who loves her...etc....you get the point....my husband is a conservative, and he loves John McCain...but hated Palin ...and didn't vote that ticket! Get the picture!  Let's move on PLEASE!
To: Symbolism Rocks

The reason he is putting his children in private school is because it is safer for the children from nut jobs like those who make up false claims and imaginary symbolism which could lead people to violence and that would go to extreams to harm him and his family. People of your ignorance astound me.
Let's see....Gingrich or Palin  Or  Romney or Palin
The list is too tremendous.  For the sake of the party the GOP needs to get its' -hit together and the moose momma is about the worst they could do.

When she gets tired of Alaska there's alway Fixed News.  She'd be perfect and I wouldn't have to ever listen to her again.

Eric in Salinas, your guy won.  Isn't it time you put your petty hate of Sarah Palin aside?  You really see the true character of Obama supporters on this site.
Critters that post the same message to multiple articles should be hunted down.
CONSERVATIVES and REPUBLICANS NEED SARAH PALIN and NEWT GINGRICH --- !

CONSERVATIVES and REPUBLICANS NEED SARAH PALIN and NEWT GINGRICH --- !

On Joe Lieberman. If memory serves me right and I apologize if this has already been brought up, but didn’t Senator Obama go up to Connecticut in 2006 to campaign FOR Senator Lieberman when Lieberman asked him to?
----------------------------------------------
No, your memory serves you wrong.  A lot of Democrats turned against Joe Lieberman, including Obama and both Clintons.
Palin wanted to give a speech to "Brag up a Loser?"  You can put lipstick on a Loser, But it is still a "LOSER".  maccain ran a dirty, filthy campaign and he should be ashamed of himself.
The 24% who think Bush is a world-class leader, and the 16% who think everything is great, are a blend of right wing religious nut cakes, Dick Cheney's corporate pals, and assorted low (very low) information voters. (At least she--and here kin-folk--are now well-dressed thanks to the RNC's stupdiity in squandering tax payer funding. But shucks, Jethro is a sight to see in Armani.)

...and may I add they are also willfully ignorant, hate science, detest success in even their own families, follow the parables in the bible but ignore the constitution, think anyone not white and uptight is an "enemy" of their America, and best of all theu think the Wasila Witch is a good standard bearer for their party...pathetic
Regarding school for the girls...

I would love to see them go to one of the nearby public schools, but let's face it - security is probably going to be a HUGE issue.  So I can't blame Barack & Michelle for looking into the private schools that are smaller, where there are a lot of other kids who could be considered to have their safety at risk because of whose children they are, etc.  Their safety must come first.  It is an unfortunate sign of the times that so many people exhibited "verbal terrorism" at some of the rallies. As a mother, if I was Michelle, I would be a little afraid for my kids.  I would hope that the better angels of people would prevail, but in the back of your mind you always know it only takes one nut...  There are many of us who are thrilled that Barack won the election, but there are many who still live in the prejudice of the past... If it was my family in this situation, I can't even say I would investigate any schools - I might opt for home schooling and private tutors, but that wouldn't let my kids have as "normal" a life as they could have under the circumstances.  My son did great in public schools in south Florida, because he had involved parents (which the Obamas are).  He's a veterinarian now, so he did OK.  But obviously we didn't have the safety concerns that the Obamas have now.  So I don't think we can find fault with them for checking out the private schools, rather than the public schools.

Counting the days until January 20, 2009!
Governor Palin will become Senator Palin once the GOP Senators kick out Stevens.  This will allow Palin to enhance her resume.

She knows the Alaskan Governor is a terrible political seat now that oil has fallen almost $100 a barrel.  That drop will force the state to drop Palin's $3300 per Alaskan taxpayer oil profit tax.  Every past Alaskan Governor has said, it's easy to govern Alaska when oil is high.  As soon as it drops, that's the end of your political career.
Chuck, I'm sorry that some in the media and in this country give a hoot anymore about Palin...it must be a slow news day/week. She is a Paris Hilton type political phenomonon that is likely to flash away unless she gets some substance. She may have 'it' but 'it' without a brain ain't going far. My advice for her is to bone up on some policy issues and then come back and give it a try. The combination might then be worth a look. Until then, it's just soap opera.
I want Sarah Palin to give me makeup tips.
Please don't give Sarah Palin any more free TV time.  We suffered what had to be done during the campaign and deserve freedom from her now that it's over.  Just let her disappear into the woodwork as all losing VP candidates have done.
Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Palin needs to go home and leave the rest of US in peace.  Newsmakers...stop it already!! Enough coverage!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reverend Jeremiah Wright; An American Hero!

Now that the election is over, I can finally put forward my theory that Reverend Jeremiah Wright fell on his sword for the now President-Elect Barack Obama.

Think about it, when the first tape came out, there was nothing that Reverend Wright could do about it, and even though Obama addressed the tape in his now famous "Race in America" speech, without ever having denouced Reverend Wright (which Barack at that time would never have done out of loyalty)that tape would have followed him all the way to November 4th, and would probably have cost him the election.  So what does a former Marine like Reverend Wright do, He deliberately comes out with that ridiculously offensive clown-like act interview with the national press, and thereby gave Barack the opportunity to denouce him, (which Obama does) and thereby takes the Reverend Wright saga off the table and out of the race forever.

Reverend Wright jumped on a hand-grenade for Barack.  Notice, that after that last interview, we never heard from Reverend Wright again.  He sacraficed himself, for the good of Obama, and for the good of the country. And I think he did it without consulting Obama.

Thank you Reverend Wright for your sacrafice.  I for one saw what you did, and God bless you.

Comments Welcome.

You would think the people of Alaska would demand that she get back to her duties as Gov.  Maybe the Governor position isn't all that stressful and she has a lot of time on her hands.  Oh well, so much for experience!  She needs to give it a rest and spend time with her family for a while.
I have had enough of Sarah Palin to last me a lifetime. Can we please move on? I turned off Morning Joe this morning because I have had enough of Mika too. I will be watching CNN from today on. I have had enough of MSNBC. Enough, enough, enough.
I'm incredulous that Sarah Palin is crying the blues about the rumors coming from her own party and campaign and how badly she was treated.  Sarah Palin launched one of the most vitriolic, scored earth campaigns in American History.  Her campaign rallies were more akin to Nazi Germany than American politics.  If anyone saw some of the crazed bigots headed to her rallies, you saw what most Americans rejected.  No wonder the GOP's run was an abject failure.  This country cannot move forward mired in myopia, intolerance and divisiveness.  Until the GOP moves back to the center and becomes more diverse, it will never rise again in this country.  America will never be Nazi Germany. For those hoping for most Americans to embrace the hatred and hypocrisy of the GOP based, I feel sorry for you.
Let's give Palin a break already. It's over. We won. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for her. There's no reason to DESTROY her like some others would like to do. She's a person just like the rest of us.
Can you hear the CLICK as I am turning off all programs that are covering Sarah Palin.  Sheesh I have watched Today for years and today is the first day Matt got a CLICK.  I thought NBC had money issues..................let's cover news.  I want to know about the economy, the election is over!!!!!
A divide is in the Republican Party, indeed. Gates should stay for the transition.
I didn’t  see NBC’s Matt Lauer, but I saw Greta Van S. on Fox.

That was one of ugliest, lying, interview’s I have ever seen. Yes Sarah, the door is open; so don’t let it hit you on the way out. Go back to Alaska and continue your ugly faux pas politics.

If Sarah thinks she can be the next face of America, not to mention governor, or senator she is dumber than Joe the plumber.

At least Joe the plumber has several jobs lined up.

I don’t even believe she can really cook. Image being all dolled up to prepare a meal; as being interviewed by Greta; what a phony. Certainly, she didn’t look comfortable multi-tasking and lying.

It turns out the conservative political magazines pundits  Bill Kristol, Michael Gerson, and Fred Barnes smitten by her, especially Bill Kristol, think she is an unusual dish (believe me; she is; pun intended). I guess so does Greta does too since Greta seems so enamored by her.

But that slob, Dick Morris, the disgraced aide to President Clinton, though usually with the Republicans, thinks otherwise.  “Dick Morris sort of pulled her aside for a private conversation, which she then revealed later to the group, in which he said, "If you want to be successful politically, you've got to continue to hold onto your image as an outsider. Play up that outsider thing."
And obviously, she has. But it's just so interesting to hear that really it's a calculated strategy. It's not just because she is an outsider; it's a ploy, to some extent.”

To risk the future of America, all because when he was caught with a prostitute vendetta!  Shame on this disgraced slob, Dick Morris, for promoting a female who could in a way replace Hillary Clinton as the most powerful woman in politics. McCain spent somewhere under three hours in total face-to-face with her before he picked her.  And 15 minutes as FR pointed out during the campaign.

Brian let her talk; the more she does the more she'll drop into obscuration. Palin symbolizes that MORE IS LESS!

The woman still doesn't get it .   She still refuses to answer the question but turns the answer to suit her own interest.  When is a reporter going to have the nerve to say to her outloud,  " You didn't answer the question  " ? The whole exchange between Matt Lauer and her was a perfect example of what she has perfected.   Why,  when she said that the RNC  supplied 8 members of her family didn't Matt ask if she didn't see anything wrong with this  ?     And Meredith Vierra has the nerve to say "  how candid "   Palin is.    Get real Meredith .  Stick to the baking segments of the show .  And somehow or other doesn't hanging around in the kitchen with " family "  demean Lauer as a reporter  ?  Folksy is as folksy  does .   I just lost my breakfast  !
I thought she was tagged & released back into the wild. Somebody must have fed her & now she won't go away......
Palin has no need to be outthere talking about mcCain this Mcain that, they lost and thats it. God spoke and Obama is the new President. Time for her to go back to Alaska and study world history. Get her facts right, then she might be ready in 1016. Until then go back to work in Alaska, that is what she is being paid for, not traveling around giving interviews.
