Lungren to challenge Boehner

From NBC's Mike Viqueira
At a press conference today, Rep. Dan Lungren (R) announced a long-shot bid to unseat GOP Rep. John Boehner as House minority leader. Leadership elections are penciled in for next Wednesday.

Lungren says that the party is too arrogant; that it needs to return to fiscal discipline and small government; that it has become intoxicated by its own power to the detriment of conservative principles; and that it has lost touch with the kitchen table concerns of average Americans. He adds that he has nothing against John Boehner.

For his part, Boehner offers the following comment: "Dan Lungren is a respected member of our conference and a man deeply committed to the principles that have defined our party since the beginning."

Lungren is typically not among those mentioned as candidates for House GOP leadership. His presser today got off to an inauspicious start as Capitol Police had to lock down the hall in Rayburn where his office is located in order to investigate a suspicious package nearby, thereby delaying the Lungren announcement.

Once begun, the presser was sparsely attended.

Turned out to just be Boxers porn.
Lundgren is a carpet bagger who moved from Southern California to run in an open seat...
(Rep. Doolittle had a friend named Abramoff)

He barely held on to a Republican seat ....
some leadership

Save the Boner !!
They can be useful .....

Either way, the Blind leading the Blind

Let's see ... polio ? or cancer ?

Obama will have sparsely attended press conferences soon enough. We'll all be too busy trying to survive.
Because Murtha won, are the people in western Pennsylvania still racists?

Ayes in town?
Larry Craig for minority leader; he truly represents the GOP.
I thought they believed government should be run like a business.  Any competent business would have fired Boehner or any executive who lost a major account and who didn't have a clue how it was lost or how to get it back except to just keep doing the same thing.
It seems that Hundai (Korean), Toyota (Japanese) and other mostly foreign car makers like Nissan and even Kia are doing beter than the big 3 American automakers, GM, Ford and Chrysler. These big 3 have about 40 different models from which to choose. When they don't sell they're stuck with overloads. Most cars are unloaded to rental centers but even that is backed up as travel declines.

The "big 3" need to restructure. NO Bailouts for them. Now American Express wants free money. And even 3 major cities want handouts.

I'm waiting for the sales for Christmas. They should be almost giving things away by then, if they want to stay in business. Capitalism, not Socialism.
Lungren's idea to save and rebuild the party is a return to Reaganism; an old-style conservatism that doesn't work in today's economy.  Like Palin, Lungren is a follower, not a leader...he recites campaign slogans from the '80's as he follows bewildered southern white evangelicals walking in an aimless circle.
i know dan lungren and he is the perfect man for the house minority leader.  8 years as attorney general of CA with 1,000 staff, and 14 years in House.  He is a leader

A person, like a commodity, needs packaging. But going too far is absolutely undesirable. A little exaggeration, however, does no harm when it shows the person's unique qualities to their advantage. To display personal charm in a casual and natural way, it is important for one to have a clear knowledge of oneself  A master packager knows how to integrate art and nature without any traces of embellishment, so that the person so packaged is no commodity but a human being, lively and lovely
Is that guy's last name pronounced 'boner' as in erection?
