Mukasey tests negative for stroke

Posted: Friday, November 21, 2008 11:25 AM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Pete Williams
Attorney General Michael Mukasey has been released from the hospital, about 12 hours after he was admitted for observation last night following his collapse during a speech.

A Justice Department spokeswoman says Mukasey apparently fainted last night.  She said a series of tests this morning found no sign of a stroke or anything heart-related.

She said all the tests were negative for stroke. He had a clear MRI and normal CT scan, and doctors have ruled out a mini-stroke or TIA. He had a normal stress test as well.  His doctors say he's in good shape and "beat the machine." They also said he had a stress echo cardiogram which was normal.

*** UPDATE *** NBC's Mike Kosnar reports the following is an internal email apparently just sent by Mukasey to DOJ staff:

To all DOJ employees:

Dear Colleagues,
As you may have heard, I collapsed briefly last night at the conclusion of a speech. All tests at the hospital have come back with good results, and I feel fine.

Accordingly, I plan to report to the Department this afternoon and to continue doing the work I swore to do last November and which it has been an honor to do with you ever since.

Thank you for your good wishes and your good work. It has been and remains an honor to serve with you.

But, his CAT scan also revealed that the Wizard forgot to give this Scarecrow a Brain!
Liberals freaks shows, like David Letterman, will have a field day with this news. Democrats and liberals, lets make more fun and sport of Republicans and conservatives. Letterman is still beating up on Palin. The man is full of hate, and is an excellent representitive of the American Left
Damn.  Almost got one.
It would make anyone with respect for the Constitution sick to be GWBs AG.

(Note that Gonzalas had no problems.)
He must be the only current adminstration offical still on the job and reporting to work.
i see a drug test in his future
Regarding being an Attorney General, I think Mukasay is no better than Alberto Gonzales. That said, I am very happy to hear that he only fainted and it was nothing more serious.

He has just two more months left as AG so let's just wish him well and on January 20th wave goodbye.
No stroke, heart looks ok, maybe he had a seizure? Any other tests? The press releases are still vague.
Dorothy, Kansas / Ali Sheata, NY / Tappy McWidestance / Get your illegal laws approved while he's in the hospital!

Are these people for real?  Are they the same person?  Why don't any of you (or you if all are the same person) have the confidence in yourselves to list your real name?  Cowards, all of you.  What are you so afraid of?
I'm beginning to wonder if these people are even of voting age.
This position will be filled shortly by another Clinton recycle. Change We Need, more like a trip "Back to the Future". Funny if it wasn't so sad.
One of the few reasonably good ones in Dubya's Administration. I wish him no harm and hope he will be okay. Just hang in there until Jan. 20 and then, with the rest of the world, breathe a sigh of relief that the nightmare is over. He can then relax and fully recover from the pressures of his current job.
Yeh right.....tests reveal no stroke.  But it doesn't take a "stroke of genius" to know that the normal person doesn't faint for NO reason!

Perhaps the thought of the new AG Holder coming on board took his breath away...Imagine not being able to hide all of the dirty tricks/illegalities of the Bush Administration.....

Guess his defense will be "I can't recall".  Wink, Wink!!!!
