Mumbai motive? WH declines comment

From NBC's Jeannie Ohm
President Bush this morning was in the Situation Room getting an update on the Mumbai attacks. At the White House briefing, Dana Perino would not comment on a possible motive and said the intelligence community continues to work around the clock.

When asked about Pakistani government's involvement, Perino at first wouldn't comment then said she's "heard nothing to say the Pakistani government was involved."

She added that the White House is encouraged by the Pakistani statements to follow the investigation wherever it leads and that they would expect nothing less -- and the U.S. will hold them to it.

She said the reason Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is traveling to India is to show solidarity with them, but also to help stop a terror threat from expanding and reduce tensions whenever possible. Rice will also personally thank the U.S. ambassador and other U.S. officials in India for their help assisting American citizens. The administration believes all Americans are accounted for at this time.

How scary our world situation is.
Even scarier that Bush and staff have the power to
make any decisions about this.
Today the worst President in US history reports that he was "unprepared" for war and he regrets his intelligence information wasn't better.

Today President Elect Barack Obama has put together probably the best personnel for cabinet positions in the modern era. My question is, "How long will it take to undue the many, many mistakes of the Bush 43 administration?  My guess is 2 to 3 years.

It will be so nice to have an intelligent person as POTUS.
Don’t blink you won’t see Bush.  He's too eager to leave his mess to a far superior leader. All signs of GW are just as moribund as the Mumbai attacks.
It is possible that there are elements that wish to disstablize the limited peace between the two countries.  There are those that favor war of any kind between people just because they think it is needed.

I tend to think that there are Muslim groups that want to kill anyone who is not Muslim rather than have them alive and like to make a show of it. These people have no understanding of life or love of it.  They focus on death and want to embrace it.
" At the White House briefing, Dana Perino would not comment on a possible motive " .....to create terror.

"she's "heard nothing to say the Pakistani government was involved."  ....  maybe she should turn on the TV, because I have.
I don't think that what makes this news is that the WH declines to comment on the motive. It's too soon to know, let alone comment. The fact that Condie Rice is going to India is the news.
Got to tell you Mika B has been absolutely horrible as an anchor. I don't understand what the heck she is talking about half of the time. She always interupts the conversation with stupid one or two word expressions that are irritating. I am not the hugest Joe S. fan but I understand why he is so condescending toward her.
For the triumph of evil it is necessary that concerned people, parties and politicians around the world do nothing "

I as a concerned citizen of the United States of America and World. I do not justify and like any evil acts of terror and terrorism. As a psychiatrist I can say that as a consequence of occupation, suppression, alienation, victimization, degradation, desperation, helplessness, hopelessness, and depression the ordinary people are led to suicide. In the process, some times, they are driven to  the evil acts  and spread their pain and apathy around as they have resorted to these evil acts over centuries. We should not forget the plight of Kashmiris, Palestinians, and many more people around the world at the hands of state sponsored terror and terrorism as perpetuated by India in Kashmir and Israel in Palestine. These kind of situations result in these heinous and evil acts around the world. Do not expect U.S.A. and president elect Obama to do much about it. It is Global problem and all concerned people, parties, and politicians need to think out of
box and address these issues candidly and openly without shifting blame around. I suggest the President Elect Obama  appoint Hon. former President Bill Clinton to resolve Kashmir issue between Kashmiris, Indians, and Pakistan and out going president Hon. George W Busy to resolve Palestinian issue between Is israel and Palestinian authorities as that has his goal to do so before he passes on the presidency onto president elect Obama.

WHY is Mumbai an issue for Obama ?

Sometimes, it's better to keep your nose out of other people's business

Who made America the 'World Cop' ?
Who made america the 'Decider' ?

Let's give it  a rest
Thank you Bush administration for trying to get facts before making judgments on who may be involved.
Before they say anything about this situation. They need to make sure that their facts are accurate, and that they are truthful. The American People are use to seeing a Bush-Cheney Government that, doses not know the facts, is very reactionary, not very truthful, likes hiding critical information, and has a difficult time with understanding different situations/policies. That has been the facts for 8 years.
To be sure, the incident in Mumbai was a very bad thing and should not have happened, but it did.  It happened in India buy some serious nasty people. This is a problem that India needs to handle by it's self. We have our own problems right now that are just as serious to us, right here right now. Our own government administration has been stealing and lying and breaking the laws of our own country. We need to get real. We need to heal ourselves before we can be capable of offering any assistance to anybody.
Today we finally know that not only we have been in recession in 12 month (as GOP activist like Larry Kudlow strongly firmly denied for so long), but also Bush admin was warned about mortgage meltdown yet they ignored (as they did in Katrina) and delayed regulations on the industry. They are the direct reason that we are where we are. They should be tried for treason.
