A bailout tack on

From NBC’s John Yang
The House version of the auto industry bailout bill includes a cost-of-living pay raise for federal judges and Supreme Court justices. (Section 19, Paragraph c.)

A senior administration official says this was done with the administration's approval -- just a convenient legislative vehicle to get it into law.

ARE yOU KIDDING ME?????????????????????

With the economic crisis and people losing their jobs and homes, they have the freekin audacity to tack this onto a bill that is designed to stop the loss of the American auto industry.  I AM SPEECHLESS BUT SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!
Good. Too few of the best legal minds in this country can't afford to become a judge. This is a step in the right direction, even though the vehicle is rather odd.
WTH???????  This is CRAZY!!!!  Pork on top of the problems that we are currently having?!?!?!?

Corruptness is soooo rampant in Washington.
Can't they EVER put anything through without an ADD ON? That's why we're so sick of the crap that goes on in Congress.
We got a good dose of corruption from Illinois yesterday. Now we see a small piece of it at the federal level. When is this nonsense going to stop? Only when we demand it. Only when we stop treating these no-loads in Washington as if they were royality.
Why give the judges a raise or anyone? This is a bill for auto industry, here we go, and they wonder why people are sick of politicians.
They should be taking a 20% pay cut.
Hello, Congress?  The cost of living is DROPPING, owing to the recent monumental SCREW-UP of the economy.  You may have heard of it.  And maybe you ought to think about giving some of your own salaries back.
well, well.  just like the bamk bail-out, the dems in congress have to add on more pork to an already stupid bill.  say what you want about the repub., but the dems have never seen a bill that couldn't use a few more millions added on to, even if it has nothing to do with the origial.
Ditto -- ARE yOU KIDDING ME?????????????????????

Let me just point out that this is a HORRIBLE time to do anything about the Supreme Court Justices' salaries, given the hundreds of thousands of people who will be UNEMPLOYED if the automaker load doesn't get approved.
Apparently you missed the other tack on which is the bailout for the mass transit systems in the U.S. because they made some bad investments?????  Not the least of there problems.  Has anyone seen the Union pay scales..  They would make even the auto Unions blush.
