Teasing our new NBC/WSJ poll

Posted: Wednesday, December 10, 2008 5:24 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Mark Murray
Last week, the AP reported that some Democrats, including Rep. Barney Frank, were criticizing Obama for not being more assertive when it comes to the country's economic crisis.

But the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that a whopping 75 percent of respondents believe that the president-elect has had the right level of involvement in making policy. That's compared with just 12 percent who think that Obama has become too involved, and 11 percent who say -- as Frank did -- that he has not been involved enough.

The rest of the poll comes at 6:30 pm ET on Nightly News and MSNBC.com. What watch for: Just how big is Obama's honeymoon? What are Americans' perceptions about the economy? And how do they feel about outgoing President Bush?

Let me get this straight.  Someone did a poll to see whether people think the President-Elect has the right amount of engagement with the setting of policy that he has no power to set.  Did they also do a poll to see whether people think the CURRENT president has the right amount of engagement with the setting of policy that he HAS the power to set?  I'd like to see those numbers.

I vote that McConnel, Sessions and Vitter are too involved

Those three crooked good ol' boys should let the grown ups decide what to do

We've had 6 years of a President Bush with a Republican Congress....

Look where it's gotten us !!
Hell in a hand basket

The Southern party is trying to break the UAW

Don't let them !!
Write your Congressman/woman
remember, as much as you may want it otherwise, Bush is still president. It is a little ludicris to be judging Obama's job performance and whether the 'honeymoon' is over.
"Just how big is Obama's honeymoon" -

Honeymoons and honeymooners are a good thing.

How sweet they are. So enjoy it while you can President-elect Obama. They don't last forever.
You know, if you knew anything about how the presidency works, how the media has influence over the mindless of America, then you'd see that the first seven years of the Bush administraition was hard but good.  We're where we are because of the Clinton years, all the mis-steps he made and Bush inherited, and the debocle of pre-9/11 from the Dems.  I know a lot of jobs have left the US, but that started a long time before Bush was in office.  We're where we are now becuase Clinton fail us and Bush tried to win a no-win war.  We keep blaming Bush for being in Iraq but we forget we did what we wanted to do and now we're stuck.  No exit stategy?  Well, there was, we just forgot that Iran and Syiria would want Iraq, too.  Now you've elected a Muslim president... he's alreay acknowledged his roots... he's using his full name at the swearing in to give the Muslim world hppe for peace.  Well, why can't they be the one's to hold out a hand for peace?? Well, they don't have to... your new Muslim president will give them whatever they need to win.

Prove to me otherwise... or don't bother to respond.
So his first 100 days start from Jan 20th 2009 or Nov 4th 2008?
Sure, being involved is OK, I guess. But what about making the correct decisions.

Prospertity does not flow from who the government deems should be prosperous. Prosperity works when barriers are removed from those who want to better themselves. What are those barriers you may ask? High tax rates and regulations. But I am just a stupid laizze-faire Republican, so I'll shut up.

Keynsian economics is on life support, and Obama and his friends in Congress are reaching for the EKG.
I, for one, am so excited for the future.  Even my republican freinds are privately looking forward to this new administration.

Right now, at this moment, I am scared for our economy, and what is going to happen to all the people that don't have a job, a roof over their heads, food in their stomachs, and the basic needs of everyone.  This should not be happening in a civilized nation that is supposed to be the leader of the free world.

The Republicans need to step back, or get on board, but stop with the same old b.s.  Those days are over, no one wants to hear it anymore.

I want to wish the President Elect, Barack H. Obama the very best.  I know he will take care of us.  Glad to know he will use his middle name, and be proud, in his innaugeration.
Re: Polls and honeymoons.

Is this one of those modern marriages where Obama gets the honeymoon before there's even a wedding?  I mean, it was just over a month ago that the engagement became official.  He's only the Groom Elect for god's sake!

Consummation doesn't occur until the third week of January, 2009 when Democrats converge on Washington D.C. to engage in unprotected inauguration.

So, no.  That part of the poll doesn't interest me and I'll bet 90% of the country can guess the other two teasers without tuning in.  Those are in the Duh-rack Uh-bam-duh category.

Sadden American--
Why should anyone prove that you're wrong? Seems that you should provide proof you are right.  And by the way, the first 7 years of the Bush administration "was hard but good"--how on earth can you rationally say it was even close to good?  Sorry I usually don't respond to trolls--especially ones with poor grammar/spelling.  Sigh.
Rob, from Iowa:'...Prospertity does not flow from who the government deems should be prosperous. Prosperity works when barriers are removed from those who want to better themselves. What are those barriers you may ask? High tax rates and regulations....'

De-Regulation is WHAT GOT US INTO THIS MESS
We De-Regulated the Banks and the Financial industry
So, the Financial industry became a casino
Guess who lost??

AMERICA !!

'...But I am just a stupid laizze-faire Republican,...'

Laissez-faire Republicans got us into this mess

And it ANIN'T LAISSEZ-FAIRE if you;'re FUNDING AN OVER-GRWON WAR MACHINE !!

'...so I'll shut up....'

and feed your baby unsafe baby food from China
Have a nice laissez-faire, Rob !!

and keep collecting subsidies for corn
and be happy we traded blood for (Iraqi) oil !!
Sadden America, you will always lose your argument, even a sound, righteous one, when you also insist on speaking absurdities along with it. Yes, Pres-Elect Obama's father was a Muslim. This hardly makes Obama one. Obama's father was out of his life by the age of two so who raised him as a Muslim then? No one did. Obama is a Christian and to quote Colin Powell, so what if he was (Muslim)? This country was founded on religious freedom. This includes the office of the POTUS.
