From NBC's John Yang
Come Jan. 20, President Bush likes to say, he'll go from 100 miles an hour to five. And now he and First Lady Laura Bush are equipped for that slower pace.

The president's senior staff gave the Bushes matching Texas-crafted rocking chairs, one made from an oak tree from their Prairie Chapel Ranch outside Crawford, Texas, the other from a Scarlet Oak -- planted by President Benjamin Harrison in 1892 -- that fell on the White House North Lawn last December.

The presentation was made Friday night at a dinner for Mr. Bush's current and former Cabinet and staff in the East Room of the White House. Nearly 200 attended, including former communications director Dan Bartlett, former press secretary Ari Fleischer, former counsels Alberto Gonzales and Harriet Miers, and former political adviser Karl Rove.

They should have arrested them all while they were in the same room.
It's about time, this POS can't go quick enough, the dunce in chief will go down as the worst POTUS in history.
The fact that Alberto Gonzalez is not in handcuffs makes a joke of the Justice Department.  Why?  Um, to quote Gonzalez...I don't recall.
Ah yes, all of the guilty party were present.  Good bye artful dodger...of shoes.  My only regret is that the shoe missed you and hit the flag.  Then again, you have been beating the hell outa our sacred stars and stripes since you took office with all of your lies to the American people.

I say, put some wheels on those chairs and zip 'em on threw the doors a little faster.
They don't allow your own rockers in prison.
From this gathering alone it looks like the Obamas are going to have to have the old place fumigated and sterilized before they move in.
That about sum it up for his presidency
Well it seems that Bush's physical pace is about to match his normal mental pace, 5 miles per hour.

Ah, I suppose we need to leave GWB alone. We have bashed the guy enough. But for good reasons mind you. I'm not excusing him for a terrible 8 years but then one has to consider, it was the mentality of many Amercian voters who put this guy in office in the first place (twice) even knowing that he was incompetent from the get go.
The title should have read:

"The Usual Suspects"

PS.  Not to be petty; but - what the heck, Can the staff take "national" property and craft it into a personal gift?  Just askin'.
Are we there yet?  January 20th can't come soon enough.
Who cares! I hope they are have a hard time sleeping after Jan 20. History will tell the truth and many of us can also tell it.
i dont think GWB deserves anything more than a razberry, what a sad excuse for POTUS. Hope the future
is brighter for the American People. Iknow not to expect much for a couple of years but I have faith in compentance.
In letters sent from both House and Senate Republicans, President Bush has been warned not to give funds that Congress expressly appropriated for "financial institutions" to Detroit automakers. The House letter also suggested such a move by Bush may be illegal and unconstitutional, noting that only Congress has the right to appropriate taxpayer funds.

Like they think Bush will actually listen to them. Bush has become too much like the democratic party and Americans are fed up with it. Giving everybody what they want leads to your downfall.
Heard another story this weekend about Obama smoking. Does anyone really care about him smoking. It does not hurt anyone and is his right to smoke when and where he wants to. Give him a break people!
Pastor Warren is the absolute best choice PE Obama could have made for his inagural invocation. People who have an issue with it are just out of touch and had better knock it off because like the Minnesota senate race, is becoming quite boring. If you have an issue with it, tell it to someone who really cares.
Did he cry again?
I wonder where they sat Scott McClelland and Colin Powell...
He should be in matching handcuffs with Cheney, it would be more festive, and be more apporiate this time of the year,  where's my shoe, when you need it!
