To all Posters here:

What we experience in 2009 will be most affected (in part) by our own state of mind. If times are good (or even excellent) a person who greets each day with a miserable outlook or who allows others to control their level of happiness, will not have a good 2009. If times are fair (or even poor) a person who greets each day with a positive and cheerful outlook or who does not allow others to control their own level of happiness, will have a fair to good 2009. Yes, much of life is impacted by outside forces. But whether life in 2009 is bad, fair, good or excellent will be determined and impacted by our own state of mind, and our ability (or lack thereof) not to allow others or circumstances control how we feel.

Note:
Have you ever heard a person say to another person – “I want to make you happy”? The fact is no one can make another person happy. If you disagree then you have not yet learned to control your own destiny. Outside forces that influence our happiness are very short lived. After the quick lift (high) we get from these forces things return to normal (or may even fall below normal causing depression). The key is to discover that state of mind (attitude) that allows one to maintain a higher level of happiness regardless of any outside influences. And if one can, it last forever, regardless of the year.

Happy New Year.
Roland Burris?

And so the corruption in Chicagoland continues.
And Barack lives in the general area of all involved.
Interesting.
The corruption in Illinois in unbelievable.
Time for all the Dems to resign office.
Bring back the Republicans. At least Bush can defend himself. Obama is little more than a Chihuahua with lipstick, just like Blagojevich and all the rest.

If you can't play with the big dogs, stay on the porch.
These hearings should be interesting. The Repubs have already indicated there'll be trouble at the Holder hearing, and I'm sure they'll give Daschle a hard time, too. Still, given that Obama hasn't picked anyone who's clearly incompetent (unlike some of Bush's more recent nominations, especially his last 2 AGs), hopefully most of the nominations will sail right on through without a lot of fuss.

Yippee!! Less than 3 weeks left until the inauguration!
It will be good that these Senate conformation hearings will be done by the new more Democratic Senate.  It will be much tougher for the repugnant ones to foul up this confirmation process with their dimished minority.  Hopefully Roland Burris can be part of the Senate soon to boost our majority by one more vote and Franken gets the last laugh and brings our total to 59 Senators.

I got a real laugh out of the MSNBC.com front page headline that the repugnant ones should give their decrepit party an image makeover.  No amount of extreme makeover of the repugnant one's image will ever cover up the gross incompetence nor the failed ideas that they have shown over the past 30 years.  The only thing the repugnant one's party deserves is a proper burial as that would be the best way to heal our fractured country that they tore asunder with their hateful intolerance.
The Bush Administration has shown an expertise for  dumbing down science and other fields in order to favor supporters with a political agenda. The whole issue of mercury in fish is quite disturbing, as is the issue of antibiotics in the food that we eat. It will be interesting to see how quickly and how competently the Obama Administration can set things right and advance from there. Getting a jump on approving Cabinet Appointments is quite important.
Well said CA.  Happy New Year all, Eric, Pat, Amy, jiwillie, Ron, Democrat Soldier, Beverly.  You have all enhanced my life with your posts!! If I forgot anyone I apologize.  You all know who you are!!  Let's all bring in the New Year (Yippie) with positive attitudes.  Don't believe any year has been as crazy as 08' in my 52 years!!

Happy New Year to all at MSNBC, and thank you!
the second and third post make no sense. it is sad that people would even make such baseless and uninformed posts.
Ditto get real!
Get Real, I totally agree with you! Especially regarding Little Nardi (who I would like to rename "Big Tardi") Can we at least show some respect for the PE? Sheesh! He's one of those guys CA is talking about, not in his mind will he ever be happy..

But for the rest of us, Happy New Year! I hope 2009 brings much change, hope, happiness and health to you all!

___________

Bush and his people never had to defend themselves, as they never responded to a single subpoena except with a quick side step.

Nice try, though.
