GOP future: Today's RNC forum

USA Today previews the RNC chair race, as well as today’s candidate forum in DC.

CQ reports that RNC chairman Mike Duncan "has told Republican insiders that neither he nor any other of the five candidates in the race will have the 85 votes needed to win outright when RNC members cast ballots during the winter meetings that run Jan. 28-31... Duncan is ‘in the lead’ but short of the necessary votes, according to a committeeman who is concerned about the optics of keeping Duncan at the helm after electoral losses."

Who will emerge to lead the Republicans out of the darkness? Another Bush? So says George H.W. Bush, who said he'd like to see younger Jeb in the White House. "I mean, right now is probably a bad time because we've had enough Bushes in there," he said. "But no, I would. And I think he's as qualified and able as anyone I know on the political scene."

I would like to see Jeb run...so a Dem could beat him.
Enough Bush's for several lifetimes.
As Ben Smith points out, Ron Paul supporters have taken over the question generating system provided for this forum, and have pushed to the top some pretty plum questions that will make all the candidates squirm in their seats.
What's news about a bunch of sore losers meeting to lick their wounds after the whipping they got in November?  It doesn't matter who runs the party of cheapskate false patriots because they don't get it that their pathetic values aren't what Mainstream America wants.
GOP future: How about trash heap of history by way of the Whig Party. More likely, a southern regional party, because everywhere else voters are finally on to their total lack of ability to govern.
Where's Jeb?

Another Bush in the White House.
The Dems are certainly making it an easier task.

Can you say corruption?
As I've said numerous times before, this will be a fight between the extreme right-wing of the GOP that will likely be led by Sarah Palin (with "Barack, the Magic Negro" as their theme music), and the moderate center right so-called RINOs.  It's going to be interesting to see what comes of this and it bears watching.  Personally, I'm hoping for the RINOs.  Sadly, however, I'm thinking the extremist are going to win, which is actually good in a way since the Democrats will simply beat them as soundly in 2012 as they did in '08.

15 Days and counting until Inauguration Day!

The GOP is in disarray right now. It may be some time for them to sort things out and one faction gain control over the others. Mainstream vs Neocons vs Ubercons. What a mess they have. As for another Bush running. I din't vote for either of the other two why would I vote for this one? People need to research the Bush family before buying into them. In some societies they would be expelled for their criminal and near criminal activities.
I would hope that Jeb would not run for anything until at least 2012.  I'd like one election without a Bush running or steping down.  I guess the question for me is what did Jeb do that justifies/qualifies him to run for anything else?  It is unlikely that he'd be as bad as his brother.
I think the Bushes are delusional. If they think ANOTHER in the White House is a good idea, than I've got swamp land here in Illinois to sell them. No way, no how, not ever. I've had a lifetime of any Bush near the White House again. The only way Jeb will get there is to have his name legally changed.
