Oh, to be president...

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Fun exchange just now between Sens. Kerry and Clinton...

Kerry asked about an incoming Obama administration's stance. Here's the exchange, paraphrased roughly:

CLINTON: [in response] Mr. President...
KERRY: I'll take that... [smiles]
CLINTON: [smiling]... President-elect-- Freudian slip [referring to Mr. President to Kerry]
KERRY: [laughing] We're both subject to those.
CLINTON: [grinning] On this subject especially.

It's interesting to think that Kerry and Clinton both tried to be president, got pretty close, lost, and then wanted to be Secretary of State. Being chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Secretary of State ain't bad.

Bush is to blame for the record snow falls in US this winter.
If Kerry were President, we'd all have to learn Russian by now.
Kerry ask Hill how she made $100K on a $10K investment in less then a day?
This is totally off the subject, but does anybody know if a lawsuit could be pursue by average citizens against government officials who break the laws of this country? (torture)
Obama may or may not pursue this, but he has prove the internet is a potent instrument to raise money.
I'm envisioning a class action lawsuit where "WE THE PEOPLE" could see justice prevail, and that no one is above the law, and some accountability for past, and future sins will be in place.
I do not know if this is even possible...?
If we could get a few knowledgeable bloggers to post their thoughts on this I would like to see something like this become a possibility.
Just wondering?
Obama raised millions, we could too, to prosecute those who break the laws of this country by ignoring the constitution.
Any thoughts?
We can be thankful for anyone who would desire to be on a hot seat like that peticular hot seat. It takes a certain type of person to want a job like that, not that all motives are good, I cnat imagine that kind of confidence.
HA ! HA ! LOVED IT ,NICE EXCHANGE. :> )
Can't wait for the Republicans to get back in. It's always a revolving door. It's just a matter of time.
they will work good together. politics set aside i do believe that these two folks as others on both sides of the aisle have country first in their minds. that is a must for them to be succesful as politicians.
Kerry wants Hillary. Time to trade in for a new nut-job.

There go the repubs taking all the credit again
Just as long as she doesn't slip her Freud by referring to Ahmadinejad as "Mr. Rabbi" or "Shah".

John,

Sadly, your lawsuit would have very little chance in court.  Generally, individual taxpayers (or a class action of them) have no standing to pursue these types of claims.  Its the same reason that the Supreme Court refused to hear the "Obama is a foreigner" cases.  Additionally, such a case would likely bring up separation of powers principals, and may also be barred by the political doctrine (i.e., courts have no right to review a political decision).

Of the two I'd pick Hillary over that weenie Kerry. But I am quite satisfied whith who WILL be President in just a week from now.

True, but it could be 10-12 years before they get Congress back...I hope you spend that time doing more than just sitting there waiting.

Haven't you had enough of it in the last 8 years??? Or don't you just get it, like Dubya???
Where were you on 911?
I was riveted to the TV, unable to believe what had happened. For the first time in my life, I felt vulnerable in America. Then the president spoke, alas, I felt even more vulnerable.  My God, he's a basket case,  he can barely speak.  Obviously, he was so completely emotionally devastated I could almost
feel it coming through the TV.
The next time he spoke to the world before the Congress, he seemed a different man. He showed the  courage and strength I felt a president should have.
He gave me the impression he would walk into hell to see that it didn't happen again.  He did.  It didn't.
In my unqualified opinion, 9-11 defined President Bush. And, like a parent who has lost a child due to a senseless tragedy, they will sometimes overprotect the other children, ironically to their detriment.
In his desire to connect to the common folks, he often came  across as a "bumpkin"........And, to some who value the grammatically accurate sentence more then the deeper feelings of a man driven to keep the wolves from the door, I say, thank you, for the fruits of all the great minds, spell check included,
and, I hope the cool, calm, calculating, cerebral approach of the next president creates  a secure homeland as well. I think he will, how can he be so smart and still have such a heart warming smile?  I'm excited and bewildered  by this world.  Let's give presidents  the respect the office deserves, even if we despise their policies.
the gop will not win a presidency before 2024.

the gop has become narrow in it's membership. it has become controlled by race haters, class intolerators, religous fanatics and haters, gender indifference and total ideaologues have become the norm for the gop.

the gop aren't tolerant to difference in opinion. it will be a long time before republicans return to power in the white house. the senate and house majority will depend on the effectiveness of the white house. that means the majority will stay in place at least through obama's second term.

live with it you right wing fringe fanatics. success lies in the middle.
By 2012, you will look back on these last eight years (2000 - 2008) as "The good old days".
