Obama's Super Bowl guest list

Posted: Friday, January 30, 2009 4:01 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Ken Strickland
The Pittsburgh Steelers will have bipartisan representation at President Barack Obama's White House Inaugural Superbowl Congressional Party. (not the official name, of course.)

We've been told today that Republican Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania will attend.  He'll be joining his Democratic Senate colleague Bob Casey, who says he's bringing the "terrible towels."

The Arizona Cardinals will not have Senate representation.  The staffs of Arizona Republican Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl have told us their bosses will not attend.

*** UPDATE *** Here's a guest list, released by the White House: Sens. Bob Casey (D-PA), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Arlen Specter (R-PA) and Reps. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), Artur Davis (D-AL), Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Charlie Dent (R-PA), Mike Doyle (D-PA), Trent Franks (R-AZ), Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), Paul Hodes (D-NH), Eleanor Holmes-Norton (D-DC), Patrick Murphy (D-PA), Fred Upton (R-MI).

This looks good for Pittsburgh. Go Steelers, you got high power support. Cards got nothing.
If McCain and Kyl don't wanna go, I will!!!!!
Kyl and McCain are just partisan political scum who don't deserve the breathe the same air as Barack Obama.

Just heard it that Steele beat the white supremacist racist Katon Dawson.  I am so laughing at how the moderates chose a closet Democrat over a racist repugnant one.  We can now officially declare that the evangelical christian lunatic fringe has ended it's reign of terror over the repugnant ones party.

Now to await the premature ejaculation of hatred from Mount Lushmore.  Viagra Boy is going to be ticked off that his party has been taken over by moderates.  I'm sure that Billo the UnCulture Clown and Sean Insanity will be going bonkers over at Fixed Noise that they are being set aside by their political party of no choice.

However we liberals and Democrats aren't fooled by this token minority being given a chair.  He'll still have to do his white masters' bidding and they will not do anything for poor minorities except to fool them into voting for them as they then turn around and stab the poor minorities in the back.

Break out the "Steele Democrat" signs!
Kenny, sorry I offended.  I was actually trying to be funny, ala Tina Fey; but clearly I missed the mark.  Your reaction, though, whew - a little harsh?
NEWS FLASH:  OBAMA AGREES WITH LIMBAUGH!!!!

They both want the Steelers to win!
Did Michelle buy a new dress for this?  And how much did it cost???????
This has nothing to do with the super bowl..but why in heaven is Obama having that nitwit Palin to the white house??????   This woman is an inept idiot.  She needs to stay in Alaska and cook her moose stew. I would never, neverrrr vote for any ticket with this idiot on it.
McCain begged off because if he attended he would spend the entire Superbowl in a foul mood thinking he should be in that Whitehouse TV room watching the game. And then he would take a bowl of chips and toss it across the room thinking of the idiotic mistake he made picking incompetent pin-head Palin as his VP running mate. No, best that John watch the Superbowl at home to keep his blood pressure down.
I don't mean this to be too mean, but how do McCain and Kyl expect to get anything done when they can't even meet the president for something as non-political as a superbowl party? When the leader of the free world wants to have you over for a little personal face time, I just can't imagine how much of a hack you would have to be to say no.
All of Pennsylvania is behind the Steelers!  Wave your Terrible Towels!!
You guys do know it's Super Bowl, not Superbowl, right? I mean, you are hosting it and all. It's two words. Always has been, always will be. Real simple.
Did Michelle buy a new dress for this?  And how much did it cost???????
-----------------------------
About 1/1000 of the cost of clothing for the Wasilla Hillbilly's makeover for her failed bid in '08. For someone seeking transparency, you sure are scared to reveal yourself by your post name. Coward!
Don't blame McBush, he has to spend the superbowl with Cindy. It was in the pre-nup.
The crocodile tears the Pubs are shedding over everything is getting pretty soggy.  I hope the ones that go the Obama's party are Bigger People and dopn't get the chips wet!
Palin and Limabugh.....still seeing each other
I'm having two Democrats over to my house for the Super Bowl.
All bets are on the Steelers and if the Cardinals win,
there will be some very rich gamblers in Vegas.
Rush?? What a loser! Seriously, when is that guy going to keel over during one of his mouth vomits?? What is the IQ of people who take him seriously?
Go Steelers!
Linda Schatzer:

Why don't you let your president make up his own mind?
I needed someone to pour the beer and serve the hors dervies.  They're tokens.
Mr. Steele I feel sorry for you because when you sat  sat on the same stage with the Chip Man who wrote the the 'Obama Negro song', you joined the KKK.  This will not get any minority votes
I'm rooting for the Cardinals, too.  I'll have to go to Rush confession on Monday.  He's going to be pissed that I thought for myself.
Ken, Denver:

I had to pass too.  I have two other democrats coming to my house anyway.
Just guessin' but it may well be that Kyl and McCain are going to the Super Bowl itself rather than hanging around Washington.  ------------  And for the person who was upset that Obama invited Palin to the White House -- don't be, since he didn't!!   They are both going to be attending the same function Saturday night (Alfalfa-something), that's all.   Obama has pretty good instincts about who to stay away from .. Blago, Palin, etc. --------  This kind of interacting-as-humans has been so badly BADLY needed in Washington. I think it's great he's doing this.
Gosh, this looks like a pity party. These people obviously weren't invited out to any fun parties.
Five people from Pennsylvania! Now's the time to drop a hint about all those potholes and falling down bridges that need some stimulus money to get fixed. Keep it light, but keep it right (in PA)!!
I heard where McCain refused to go.  I wonder if the party was not going to be lavish enough? he doesn't want to hobnob with those poor people making under $5 million.  McCain is such a joke! Wonder how many Republicans were at Limbaughs party?
