First thoughts: Negotiating time

*** Negotiating time: This is Susan Collins’, Olympia Snowe’s, and Arlen Specter’s world, and we’re all just lucky to live in it, right? With House and Senate negotiators working with the White House to reconcile the stimulus legislation -- Rahm Emanuel and Peter Orzsag were on the Hill late last night trying to hammer out a conference agreement -- the New York Times reminds us that the legislation’s fate is in the hands of three people we thought were extinct: Northeast Republicans. And the trio is receiving plenty heat from members of their own party (the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Pennsylvania GOP chairman criticized Specter’s “yes” vote). As far as the negotiations go, one leadership source tells First Read that things are moving so fast that a basic agreement could be done by mid-day. One significant add to the conference agreement: $15 billion for school construction. NBC’s Mike Viqueira yesterday broke down the other points of contention: the $15,000 homebuyer credit, the provision concerning deductible interest on car loans, the Senate’s cut in aid to states, the Medicaid allocation formula, and the yearly AMT fix. (As of now, it looks like the AMT fix will survive.)

Video: GOP senators talk about the Senate's vote to pass the stimulus bill and how it will hold up in the House.

*** Other stimulus moving parts: Today marks the third-consecutive day that President Obama will actively campaign for the stimulus. After spending Monday and Tuesday stumping in Indiana and Florida, Obama today visits a construction site in Springfield, VA at 11:00 am ET with Virginia Gov. (and DNC chair) Tim Kaine. Also today, Vice President Biden gets into the act as well, stumping in Harrisburg, PA at 2:10 pm ET with Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell. The White House isn’t letting a day go by right now without have someone on the road this week. Meanwhile, liberal supporters of the stimulus -- Americans United for Change and AFSCME -- are airing a new TV ad on DC cable calling out Republicans for “Just saying no” to the legislation. They also have radio ads targeting 21 House and Senate members who voted against the stimulus, arguing that they have a “second chance” to now vote for it. We wonder, however: Are Americans truly paying attention to these ad campaigns? When does it become white noise?

*** A Bronx cheer for Geithner: Right now, perhaps the only person who’s more unpopular in New York than Tim Geithner is A-Roid. Indeed, Treasury Secretary Geithner took a stomach punch yesterday, proving that it's possible that no one can succeed in this job if he/she is solely judged by the mob rule nature of Wall Street. The spin out of the administration: If Wall Street is unhappy, then maybe they are on to something. We'll see. Congress didn't seem ecstatic about the lack of details either, so it will be the one to write the fine print at this point. But clearly, Treasury believes the biggest mistake Hank Paulson made last year for Phase One of the TARP was dictating to Congress how the plan works. And it may be politically smarter for the banks and for Wall Street to keep Congress happy since ultimately, they are now the bank of last resort.

Video: Geithner tells NBC it's important to be honest about how difficult it will be to recover from the economic crisis.

*** No Country for Old Men? By the way, these are the conferees working on the stimulus compromise… From the Senate: Democrats Harry Reid, Max Baucus and Daniel Inouye, and Republicans Chuck Grassley and Thad Cochran. From the House: Democrats David Obey, Charlie Rangel and Henry Waxman, and Republicans Jerry Lewis and Dave Camp. The average age of these 10 men: 71. Just askin’, but is that the change you can believe in? Indeed, the average Congress-watcher is probably wondering, “Where's a Blue Dog Dem or a moderate Republican?”

*** A public flogging? This will certainly make for good TV-watching today: Beginning at 10:00 am ET, eight CEOs from some of America’s largest financial institutions will testify before Rep. Barney Frank's House Financial Services Committee on the issue of TARP accountability. Among the witnesses: Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis, JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, and Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit. As the New York Times’ Andrew Ross Sorkin noted yesterday, these CEOs -- trying to avoid a mistake the automakers made last year -- gave up their private jets to come to DC via Amtrak or the Delta Shuttle. But they’ll probably receive the same reaction from Congress that the automakers received: a public spanking. “Judging by the nation’s outrage at Wall Street … our representatives are likely to turn the hearing into a public flogging,” Ross Sorkin wrote. Previews of their testimony suggest none of the bank CEOs is taking full responsibility for what's wrong with the nation's financial system.

Video: Rep. Barney Frank discusses the bank executives' hearing before Congress today.

*** Mr. Franken goes to Washington: With the results of his Senate contest still in limbo -- although clinging onto a 225-vote lead, and now counting -- Al Franken (D) is in DC today. He arrived in the nation’s capital last night and will stay through Thursday. Per the Washington Post’s Cillizza, “Franken's meeting schedule … includes sitdowns with current Senate staffers, people involved with the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and former Hill staffers including the late Minnesota Sen. Paul Wellstone's senior policy adviser.” Norm Coleman (R) is also expected to be in DC today to raise money for the ongoing contest, which has gone 99 days (!!!) beyond Election Day. These Washington visits come after Franken apparently picked up 23 additional votes yesterday, but the Coleman camp believes the ruling will open up additional ballots that the Republican might later add to his tally. By the way, anyone else believing the Coleman strategy is this: delay things to point where the Senate throws up its hands and calls for a new election?

*** Other countries’ elections: The fact that Likud and Netanyahu couldn't pull off a decisive win -- and may have in fact lost, sort of -- is proof that the Gaza war had political benefits for Kadima, no? Is that the lesson Israeli pols will take?

*** Adding to our “Dick Cheney Would Never Have Done This" file: On Thursday, Biden leads a presidential delegation to the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Boise, ID. (This isn’t to say Cheney was against the Special Olympics; it's that he wasn't much for doing these ceremonial duties that had been traditional VP responsibilities in previous administrations.)

I thought that I would not get excited again like the campaign season, but after Barack’s 2 recent town hall meetings, I am.  More Barack amongst the people, even press conferences, and less with the old politicians is fine by me.

How many unemployed Republican voters do you think exist?  Probably none in the eyes of Republican members of Congress.

If Limbaugh and Hannity are domestic terrorists because they instill fear and hatred, at what point do the obstructionist Repukes join them?
Dinner At Eight

Per Huffington Post: Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter got into an on-air quarrel with radio host Laura Ingraham Monday, who suggested the Republican supported a stimulus package because he was "wined and dined" by President Obama.
Ingraham's listeners were treated to a snide and ultimately gutless scolding of Specter for participating in a White House party, to which members of Congress from both parties were invited. Specter responded by calling the 44-year old Ingraham a "young lady" and her line of questioning "baloney."
INGRAHAM: Is it nice to be wined and dined at the White House? And, you're treated pretty well when you're a Republican bucking other Republicans, right Senator?
SPECTER: Now let's get off it Laura. I'm not drinking any wine at the White House and I don't dine at the White House. If the president wants to talk to me -- I talk to him and I make my own independent judgment. Don't give me the wine and dine baloney, young lady.
A member of the GOP going after one of the looniest right wing lunatics out there? It’s almost too good to be true. So now evidently according to this “young lady”,  if you’re a Senator – a Republican Senator – you can’t meet with a Democratic President at the White House? It sounds like she is suggesting that the Senator is a traitor.

My oh my how far we have fallen as a country. Keep it up Laura Ingraham and your party will sink further down the hole.

It will be exciting to see baseball begin yet again a new season. Can't wait to see the New Yankee Stadium. It looks beautiful.
Can someone please tell the President that the campaign is over?  The bill is essentially approved, so what's the point of all this?
Or is he going to continue to campaign for four years since he's so much better than campaigning than governing?
If 800 Billion would save 4 million jobs...

Just think how many jobs could be saved with 800 Trillion.  That might be able to save all our jobs.

Who cares about the Deficit - Lets not only steal from our children and grandchildren - lets steal from the next 20 generations.  Afterall they cant even vote yet???

I am a true democrat and only care about the famous saying.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, Ask for free health care, free mortgages, free food and to only tax the rich republicans"

God I love this country

'...y the way, anyone else believing the Coleman strategy is this: delay things to point where the Senate throws up its hands and calls for a new election?...'

The chances: SLIM and NONE
THROW THE BUM OUT !!!

You LOST Norm !!
Too Bad !!

There's not gonna be a 'do over'
How would MN State law not take precedence over the Senate calling for a new election?  If that happens, and Coleman's "ethics" (an oxymoron if ever there was one) becomes the centerpiece of the campaign, he is done.  The Senate would eventually have to act on the complaints against him.  Why is no one asking Coleman about that, and his statement that if the situation were reversed (when he claimed victory on election night) that he would man up and withdraw?  Any journalist out there going to do their jobs?

But, MN needs to add a special run off provision to election laws, that is the biggest lesson that we are taught from this mess.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Please get your "narrative" straight . . . first you tell us three moderate Republicans hold ALL THE POWER over the compromise being worked out, then you complain that not enough moderates are on the conference committee . . . gee whiz folks make up your minds already! :)

President Obama is succeeding!  How do I know?  The conservative, right-wing nuts are going crazy with workds like socialism and Marxism.  Socialism--Government ownership of a segment of the economy...like the Post Office...like Social Security...like Medicaid and Medicare.  Banking will be next becuase during the Bush administration greedy, wealthy CEO's took advantage of Capitalism priniciples.  BTW, Regulation is not the same as ownership. When Capitalism is abused, it becomes regulated. Today the banker CEO's will be questioned abut their abuses in the housing market.  For some it will be entertaining, for others it will be shameful. There will be changes you can see and believe in.

A lot of talk about negotiating on the Jobs bill. It will pass.  Actually Nancy Pelosi does deserve some "blame" for how she managed the House side. But you can bet that Obama staff will be involved with this negotiations and they will not let it get away.
The three bozo moderate conservatives have done more to wreck the stimulus package than they have to help it.  Cutting out tens of billions to help states and schools is the wrong way to go and replacing them with the alternative minimum tax fix is a big mistake.  Get rid of the AMT fix and replace it with the funds taken out to help states and schools unless more repugnant oines vote for the bill.

Hopw awesome as Obama's town hall yesterday with Julio and Henrietta?  Hollywood producers must be shking their heads that Obama can do in real time what they can only wish they could do to present some heart wrenching drama.  I hope that Henrietta gets some place to live.

I liked that Jon Stewart showed on his moment of zen the white lady next to Henrietta who had a rapt expression on her face and you could easily read her lips as she said "I love you Barack"!  Barack needs to go out and pound the repugnant ones by going to the public where he holds such sway.  He goes into republic party areas without prescreened crowds, so unlike the cowardly bushwhacker.

Prison for bushleague administrators who broke the law!
Obama boot-lickers keep pointing towards Obama's poll numbers, as if those numbers matter. What matters is the stock market is in tailspin because Obama's appointees like Geithner are in charge and haven't a clue. Obama is saying he'll create or save [not sure what that means] 4 million jobs with his so called stimulus plan. People see that for what it is too, not a bailout plan for the country, but a bailout plan for incompetent federal and state governments.

Now Obama and his little minion Barney Frank will brow beat the CEOs of the banks today. That should restore confidence in our banking system, right? Great timing guys.

So keep pushing Obama's poll numbers. Obama will be like Nero, playing the violin while Rome burns.
Obama's Stimulus Can Be Defeated --- Act Now

Obama's massive pork-barrel, socialist, wealth-distribution program billed as a "stimulus" plan can be stopped.

The stimulus program includes billions for bureaucrats' new cars, Hollywood movie makers, arts programs, anti-smoking campaigns, efforts to reduce sexually transmitted diseases, and a litany of programs totally unrelated to the economy.  ACORN WILL RECEIVE MILLIONS TO "REGISTER MORE DEMOCRATIC VOTERS!"

A new Rasmussen poll finds that more than a majority of Americans believe the Obama stimulus plan will hurt the economy more than help it.  The Democrats are taking a course of action that is pushing the economy toward a depression.  Obama is mobilizing all its grass-roots organizations like Moveon to pressure Republicans to vote for the bill.

The American people simply don't want radical legislation rammed down their throats.

THIS WAS NOT A BI-PARTISAN BILL ... IT WAS ALL PELOSI & REID.
Of course the CEO's are not taking responsibility.  Why would they?  The greed we have watched happen in the last 8 years, actually since the Reagan days is what happens when you think with your wallet first.  It's been going on for a long time.  Now is time for change. This country has been running a muck for along time, pretending we are so together.  The truth comes out which is good.  Time to fix it people.
Here is what I think about "Geithner Gate" (trying to make thinks melodramatic enough):

The media needs to quit expecting everything to be pre thought out and pre digested for their convenience. Ditto for Wall Street.

You can't say out of one side of your mouth that these are some of the most difficult financial problems we've faced in a GENERATION, and then out of the other side of your mouth bemoan the fact that Tim Geithner and the Obama Administration have not figured the whole thing out in the past month.

In a HONEST and TRANSPARENT government, everythiing is not papered over and sanitized for our protection. The American people, and the media, and Wall Street are getting an ACTUAL VIEW of what is REALLY HAPPENING for a change, and I for one LOVE IT!

Enough of the lies and spin, the "technically we are not in a recession yet", the "fundamentals of our economy are strong", the attacking of any new idea as "socialism" or "marxism".

Welcome to the wonderful world of actual governing, where the American people aren't dictated to and "protected" from the truth.

There will be a plan when there is a plan, and not a moment before. Get used to reality folks, the smoke and mirrors days are over. Thank God.
The Democrat putz (republican edition): '...Who cares about the Deficit - Lets not only steal from our children and grandchildren - lets steal from the next 20 generations.  After all they cant even vote yet???...'

Ronald Reagan:
'the deficit doesn't matter if the economy is growing'

'the deficit is big enough to take care of itself'

Remember 'Supply Side Economics' ??
The 'Free Lunch' theory ?

We've been burdening the nation with deficits in order to give tax cuts to the rich and to ensure that 2/3rd of all corporations pay no corporate income taxes

'...Pay-To-Play-The-Obama-Way...'

You don't even know what 'Pay to Play' means
You're just parroting Conservative talking points
What does 'pay to play' mean ?
How is Obama using this tactic ??

There is some honesty here, you really ARE a PUTZ !!

I sure hope the robber baron bankers are made to grovel and admit their perfidy to the public.  I so enjoyed watching BBC America show the Brits make some of their bankers apologize profusely for their screwups.  Time to make our robber barons grovel and apologize for their perfidy!

If the repugnant ones want to being Dopes of Nope then the stimulus package should not contain anything they want.  Time for the Democrats to cram this stimulus package down their throats to show them that petty partisan whining has a price.

Investigate the bushleague administration!
If Dick Cheney had ever gone to the Special Olympics, he would have been asked to leave for tripping the kids.
FR ~~~ This will certainly make for good TV-watching today: Beginning at 10:00 am ET, eight CEOs from some of America’s largest financial institutions will testify before Rep. Barney Frank's House Financial Services Committee on the issue of TARP accountability. ~~~~

Oh, by all means, and I hope you are entertained. Lets bash the banks just a little more today and see what that does for the stock market. I'm sure after watching that nit-wit Frank mumble for a few hours the people's confidence in the banks will be overflowing.

How stupid are the Democrats? Aren't they supposed to be restoring confidence in America's institutions? Instead you have Obama, Schumer, Franks, Pelosi and Reid tearing down the very institutions that made this country great. Just what in the world on they trying to do?
Comment for Chuck, Mark and Domenico:

I love this site; but I would encourage you guys to 'stay above the fray' by not referring to Alex Rodriguez as "A-roid".  No judgement on whether he deserves it; but it does go against your own stated rules of professionalism.  I believe it is on the Newsvine site - and I thought you guys supported it here as well to maintain some level of decorum.  I know this is supported on Newsvine.  Just my two cents.
President Obama is all about serving the people, the cornerstone of his presidency. He is willing to meet them in their hometowns, listen to their heart wrenching stories, and try to reassure them that he is working for them. A refreshing and welcomed change.

The Bank Robbers, dressed as CEO's of lending institutions, should get as little money as possible and should be accountable for every red cent! Give the money to the people and the economy will be well on its way to recovery. We, the people, don't have any confidence in the banks, who have stolen us blind.

BTW, I listened to Morning Jerk Scarborough this am who was practically foaming at the mouth because Geithner didn't give a completely detailed and nuanced gameplan for the recovery money. A more adolescent performance was never seen in all of TV land. Put Scarborough in the basement until he can learn to speak civilly to his guest. He has Mika cowering in a corner most days.
Ron Indiana --- President Obama is succeeding!  How do I know?

From the stock market plunge, right? From the terrorists liking us more now, right? From Obama tearing down anyone that wants to make a buck in this country, right?

You have funny way of defining "success".
RE: Special Olympics

Didn't Bush and Co refuse to have anything to do with the Special Olympics because of the Kennedy family's close involvement?

Just curious...
Conservative talk radio really doesn't get it.  They represent a minority view point.  Republicans outside of the south and the prairies can adhere to the squawkers or they can get elected.  They can't do both.

I thought senators represented their states, not a particular party.

Hey, PA repubs, nominate Pat Toomey!  I dare ya!
Biden is so much better than tricky dick ever was and it's good that he shows up to support the Special Olympics.  Obama and Biden have already shown they are far better than the bushwhacker's Keystone Kops fools ever were.  I am so glad to see the Democrats trashing so much of the bushwhacker's changes for the worse.  I am so glad that Ken Salazar is overturning the offshore oil drilling garbage that got passed a few months ago.

I so enjoy seeing Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert prove that Liberal Comedy is still going strong because there are still clueless repugnant ones to make fun of.  Stephen did a great The Word segment trashing the Dopes of Nope and Jon Stewart did a great job of trashing tricky dick.

Demonize the repugnant ones!
Will Obama personally step in if he sees Reid ad Pelosi getting out of line in trying to to reinsert the spending cut in the deal with the three GOP Senators? Those three amigos are already threatening to bail if even one program they wanted axed gets funded in a final House/Senate compromise.

How far will Obama push Pelosi?

Socialism - its a word the Republicans keep telling us is bad.

We already have Socialism in our Schools, Post Office, Retirement (Social Security), Roads.  I say let the government take over all businesses and all jobs.  If we all worked for the government we would have everything we ever wanted.

What a great country this would be.  Socialism and Obama as our King.

I work for the government and its great.  They cant fire me when I dont do my job.  I get a pay raise even if I Suc*.  I get paid retirement just for hanging in.  I get 8 weeks paid vacation.  And last year my wife's sister got pregnent with my child (its a long story) and I got paternity leave - PAID.

What a great Country - I love the Government Teet.

The best milk ( and govt. cheese) in the world.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Sorry if you want to live in a fairy land, but the reality is that the banks f*@#$d up. They will be held accountable for f#@3$@g up, especially now that WE THE PEOPLE are bailing them out.

If the banks made this country so great, then why are we having to bail them out? Why are they failing? Why are they spending 1 million dollars to decorate ONE OFFICE?

"Restoring confidence" is not selling the American a load of bull (like the Bush Adminsitration that so many who post here are trying to forget. They bring up Ronald Reagan every day, but they get upset when you talk about President George W. Bush. Why is that I wonder?). Restoring confidence starts with HONESTY and TRANSPARENCY, not lies and distractions.

And they call Obama supporters Kool aid drinkers.
I'm standing by the President, taking his package to thew people is smart,it cuts all the spin out of the reporters that give opinions, instead of facts. In the Norm Colemen case, this is turning into a three ring circus, the obstructionest party is working over time on this one.But the Hotels are still full of RNC lawyers. If Norm thinks for one second that the people of Gopher land will pay for another election, and he is in Washington with his hand out begging for dollars to pay his hired guns from DC. Since he feels entitled to the job, maybe his new employer The JRC can give him a advance of a couple  million to get thru the ruff spots. On the part about Joe doing his VP dutys you failed to word the names correctly.Dick was the guy in charge, and LIL GW would have been doing the VP stuff.

Instead you have Obama, Schumer, Franks, Pelosi and Reid tearing down the very institutions that made this country great. President Obama -Tear Down This Country

Are you serious? The banks have as much blood on their hands as anyone. They didn't need much arm twisting to try to get as much money as they could as quickly as they could thru unscrupulous methods. Surely you have heard about the huge bonuses they have received using federal funds, certainly you know about the frivolous retreats and resorts, the outlandish remodeling of offices to the tune of millions of dollars, and the buying of corporate jets, all at taxpayer expense.

If this type of behaviour meets your standard for making this country great, then you are in for a rude awakening when accountability is again front and center in the Obama administration. That's what "they" are trying to do!
I wonder if the bankers will turn the tables on Barney Frank and say 'tell me about the 11B you snagged from TARP to save the bank in your hometown' and 'hey Barney, do you still think it's a good idea to encourage low income people with no jobs and no credit to buy homes' ?   Listening to Barney Frank whine about 'there was no oversight from the Bush administration' when he's on the Financial Services Committee is such a howler.  Who do you think was supposed to provide oversight, bozo?
With the President and VP out on the road again, the GOPer losers in DC can continue to stew in their own juices and beg their Robber Baron buds for more campaign help, but that will not help with with US!

For Eric. A FL legislator invited Henretta to live in a vacant house that they own. Thanks!

For Eric Sen Leahey is calling for a commission to investigate the war crimes of the Dubya mob. Too bad the economy is so bad, else we'd probably see Cheney et. al, in orange jump suits in a year or so.

For MSierra, Ditto on your comment about the "dem putz" who is just another GOPer loser pretending to be a Dem, shameless dork!

For Ron IN. Good analysis! The more the GOPer losers cry socialism, marxism, the more we know that the President is making progress.

For Nash Fan, Here, here! Plans do take time to develop but the Wall Street Robber Barons were waiting for another truck load of money. Too bad fellas that train has left the station!

For Clara KC. Good call. One would also hope that the GOPer losers would learn how to disagree with some rationale arguments instead of hysterical cat calls. They must really miss the politics of division!

It's refreshing that those three moderate Republicans actually put country FIRST not party loyalty which  finally goes against Reagan's so-called 11th commanment. What a concept that they do not seem concerned about the flax they will get from the three stooges of McConnell, McCain, and Boehner.
President Obama worked for unity, the republicans wanted no part, he tried to make them realize the necessity of job stimulous, they ignored, their tax cuts are to no benefit, yet they insist, their outdated, inept, unAmerican beliefs are ridiculous, yet they continue their pompous, egotistical party first tactics.
These are the same people who almost destroyed our country these last eight years and now, they are experts on the economy?
How can anyone put any stubstance into anything they do or say??
I'm beginning to think it's time for a revolution.

Reclaim America and down with fascism and socialism.
Dick Cheney probably would never have said 'we have a 30% chance of failure,' either.
One thing both Biden and Cheney HAVE said:  the Presidency is not the place for on the job training.  And we're learning too late how true that is.
Can someone please tell the President that the campaign is over?

Sure if you will tell McCain and Phil Graham that the election is over.

Is there anything creepier than that cheesy smirk permanently affixed to Eric Cantor's mug? If he's just work on his "royal wave" he'd be a lock for Miss America.
Barney Frank is a public disgrace to this country. His ass belongs in jail.
Tear Down This Country

Dude, get a clue! We've already torn down the country. It's called Pillaging, duh. Now we have to hold the pillagers accountable for what they chose to do to us. Really pretty basic if you have any sense of what is right and what is wrong.

Alex has already admitted it...and he did a rather poor job of it too, trying to play the "I was young and foolish and it was a different era" nonsense.

He got an MVP award during a season in which he did steroids.  That award led to an insanely lucrative contract.  It's all built on a lie.  He only fessed up because he got caught, and this pentitent act is a desperation move to salvage his career.

Sorry, but the objection is overruled.  A-roid stands.
Obama boot-lickers keep pointing towards Obama's poll numbers
---Lets Work Together

Oh, when you sweet talk us like that I feel so much like working together.  You repugnant ones are just natural born managers who know how to bring people together (not).  Just like your god-appointed one Bush who was a uniter not a divider.

What is it with all these incoherent rants with mindless talking points and code words that keep appearing here under a bewildering array of names?  Is the wingnut websites encouraging people to post again and offering brownie points like they did during the campaign?
The failure of liberals to master the vibrant medium of talk radio remains puzzling. Too many Democrats have become arrogant elitists, speaking down in snide, condescending tones toward tradition-minded middle Americans whom they stereotype as rubes and buffoons.

Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow --- who has been in the aggressive forefront of the campaign to reinstate the deceitfully named 'Fairness Doctrine' --- is married to Tom Athans, who works extensively with left-wing radio organizations and was once the executive vice-president of Air America, the liberal radio syndicate that failed miserably to win a national audience. Stabenow's outrageous conflict of interest has of course been largely ignored by the LIBERAL MEDIA.

THE "FAIRNESS DOCTRINE" ---- IS A GIANT STEP TOWARDS FACIST GOVERNMENT.

Did you notice when the government "regulated" the auto companies, GM laid off 10,000 workers this week? And cut pay?  Nice way to "save jobs."  I can't wait to see how many jobs are "saved" with the Stimulate-the-Government bill......

Lets Work Together: '...Now Obama and his little minion Barney Frank will brow beat the CEOs of the banks today. That should restore confidence in our banking system, right? Great timing guys.

So keep pushing Obama's poll numbers. Obama will be like Nero, playing the violin while Rome burns...'
