GOP watch: Jindal vs. Obama

Posted: Wednesday, March 25, 2009 9:12 AM by Mark Murray
Filed Under: ,

About an hour before President Obama took to the podium for his primetime news conference, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal was back in town for the NRCC's largest fundraiser of the year. Roll Call: "An energetic Jindal told 1,200 partisans that Republicans are finished 'navel gazing' on the direction of their party and must be prepared to rebound. 'We need to worry more about fixing our country and helping to chart America’s future,' Jindal said."

More: "A particularly partisan Jindal addressed the crowd minutes before President Barack Obama held a nationally televised press conference. Jindal did not mince words, criticizing the Democrats for liberal spending practices and plans to expand government. 'I don’t know about you, but this doesn’t look like the Barack Obama we met on the campaign trail,' he said. 'I don’t know about you, but I liked that guy a lot better.'"

The event took in more than $6 million, according to the group. That's about a million more than officials say they expected.

Who vs the president?
Jindal vs. Obama = Obama in 2012.

'Nuff said.

What a pathetic excuse Jindal is.  Yeah he energized his clueless base with nothing but lies.  Too bad he's not smaret enough to talk beyond the pitiful whining points the repugnant ones puke out daily.  Even worse are the fools who believe his baseless lies.

It's no contest as Obama wipes the floor with booby jindal in any debate on issues.

In Obama We Trust!
In jindal We Bust!
Somebody had better stop Obama before he destroys this country with his good intentions.  Nationalized healthcare WILL equal rationing; multi-trillion dollar deficits WILL turn us into a banana republic; government ability to take over businesses WILL desdtroy our economy; reaching out to our enemies DOES NOT make us safer; neither does renaming the war on terror.

Obama is out of his element.  He has no real world experience; instead, he governs by his ivory tower beliefs in a perfect world.  In his news conference last night, it was clear that he had practiced answers to the questions he anticipated.  It was also clear that he still believes in fairy tales-that, because he believes, it will come true.

I hope enough Democrats see through this to stop him before his agenda does too much damage.
Does anyone really know the REAL Barry Soetoro??  Did he even get vetted???  I think his true colors are beginning to show, and it ain't pretty!!!
Ok, how would Jindal feel if we all decided that we want him to fail in his mission to be gov. of Louisiana?  Heck, most of the republicans I know think we should not rebuild New Orleans, I've even talked to some who think we should open up the levys and flood most of Lousiana and divide what is left between Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama.
This is so disgusting, I never once wanted georgie to fail on a professional/presidential level (although fail he did and many times), I want anyone leading my country to achieve the goals necessary for all of us to be a success.  To me Mr. Jindall is too unpatriotic to hold an elected office, actually, he is too unpatriotic to even live here.
Jindal says we need to worry more about fixing our country?  How are repubs going to fix our country, when 8 years ago republican gw bush took office with a 236 Billion Dollar Surplus, and then turned it into a 1.2 Trillion Dollar Deficit which he passed on to Pres. Obama?  THOSE ARE THE COLD HARD FACTS REPUBS, {no matter how hard you try to spin it}
Judging how well Gov. Jindal "stood up" to President Obama after the latter's last address he has no room to talk. What does he want others to do what he is unable to do? What a L O S E R Gov. Bobby Jindal is.
What did Jindal expect President Obama to do?  He told us he was going to work on energy, healthcare, education, and stimulus during the campaign.  Maybe Bobby wasn't listening, but I don't see any difference between Candidate Obama and President Obama.
Obama was fashioned to be president the same way the Monkees were fashioned to be rock and TV stars ... systematically put together by pros who can make nothing look like something.
To the Party of NO:   No way, no how, no Bobby Jindal in 2012!
Jindal looks like a lost puppy trying to find his home.
The GOP had better wake up and realize that the ground has shifted in this country. . .NO LONGER DO WE WANT NAME-CALLING or just SAYING 'NO'  to sincere policy agendas.. .  WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS???. . .other than the same Tax cuts for the wealthy Madoff types. . .who got this country into this Economic meltdown  !!!!!  It's very sad to listen to so-called conservatives RE-WRITE the last 10 years. . . .just erase it from history..NO, we remember !!!!  It is so refreshing to have a POTUS who's always the smartest person in the room, and is not afraid to answer questions from anyone . . .and speaking fluent English. . .  can you even imagine Bush in such a setting ???  Totally NOT in control of anything. . .
even now.  . I wonder how many concervatives will buy his book in bulk ???? That's the only way he'll sell any of them !!! Remember the hide and seek trip to Canada ???  What a joke !!!  Obama wants to HELP the American worker, NOT HURT THEM !!!!!
Bobby should go back to Disney land, maybe his party feels more at home when surrounded by cartoon clowns.Jindels about as lost as the rest of the repubs. He is still trying to find his way out of the forest, maybe he could do more to fix his own state and quit worrying about what Obama is doing. Katrina ring a bell Bobby?
Obama wants to HELP the American worker, NOT HURT THEM !!!!!

Then why are so many people losing their jobs every month??  600,000 a month every month.  And Obama just recently OUTSOURCED a bunch of jobs TO CHINA!!
Jindal needs to sign-up for Tina's Thirty Rock for stand in status. He's as pathetic as Sara Palin. The GOP are such caricatures of themselves as are all the kool-aid drinkers who support them (30-35%). They just resurgitate the same talking points.
To: no joe, no bo, nj
Usually I don't respond to people, but I must ask,
Do you think our current health care is not rationed?  Do you have to see a primary care provider before you get access to a specialist?  Does your insurance company have to pre-approve you for some procedures?  Do you ever get generic drugs instead of the ones specifically prescribed for you?  How much of a wait do you have before you get a routine appointment?  Do doctors have to get certified by any government agencies?
Are you only worried because you think that IF there were government-mandated health care, more people would take up your doctor's time? Do you think that you would be assigned a doctor, rather than pick one?  Do you somehow think you would be paying for your neighbor rather than yourself?  That is what insurance is all about --  you pay a premium so that if you NEED care, it's covered, but while you don't need it, that money is available to cover the costs of others.
no joe , no bo, no sense, nj

how do you propose they stop him? are you suggesting assasination? sounds like it to me. try suggesting the methodology next time you go hateful on the president. Keep it up and you'll be getting a visit from the secret service. for shame.
The GOP should find it particularly troubling that Jindal urged the party to look forward, not backward when deciding what to do next.  If they looked backward, even just a little bit, they would realize that they lost because their message wasn't resonating anymore.  Taxes have been cut and cut and cut some more and surprise!  We have a giant deficit!  Demonizing gays, immigrants, and the unemployed doesn't work with young voters who probably have some gay friends, probably worked with immigrants in their first job or two, and fear a horrible job market awaits them after college.  The GOP needs to worry less about trying to find a new face to sell their old message and worry more about modernizing their message and canning the negative, divisive rhetoric.  I don't think Jindal can do it, but then again, who can?  Maybe they should wake up Fred Thompson and see if he can stay awake through a whole debate this time.
please, please, oh my god please bobby jindal run against Obama in 2012. lets see, Obama will raise 10 million dollars a day for lets say 200 days up to election day and jindal maybe 1 million a day.
game over!

Bobby Jindal is one of the biggest jokes of the GOP. He is typical of many Republicans now.....no good ideas, no teamwork, no bi-partisanship, and focus more upon GOP votes than the American people. If people like Jindal & Limbaugh are speakingf for the GOP....it will be Democratic leadership for 20-30 years.
What is so disturbing is that Jindal and the republicans want our President to fail, ignoring and not caring about the fact it will be the failure of our country.
These people are the worst I have every seen in politicians. To put your egos, party, ambitions ahead of the survival of our country is as unAmerican as you can get. They are bordering on criminal activity, and, we Americans will not and cannot support their ongoing hypocrisy. ENOUGH!!
This is like a boxing match. Fly weight Jindal against super heavy weight Obama. One good hard blow to the jaw and it's bye bye Bobby.
Governor who? The guy should pick a fight with some lighweight like himself. I don't want him  to be pummelled like what happened to that ED Henry guy from CNN yesterday.
Bobby Jindal is the current Governor of the state of Louisiana who just proposed a state budget that will severely cut health care and higher education in the next fiscal year.  The state legislature under Jindal also saw fit to cut state income taxes, which has deepened the state fiscal shortfall.  All of this in a state that ranks at or near the bottom in taxation (read as very low taxes) and quality of education for its populace.  Can you really imagine him leading the United States out of the economic mess we are in right now...and still be able to improve health care and education for the people?
