Chicago deep dish diss?

Posted: Friday, April 10, 2009 1:30 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Danielle Weisberg
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and The Atlantic, President Obama was supposed to fly in a pizza chef to prepare lunch for his guests at the White House today. An ode to the trademark deep-dish pizza of his hometown Chicago?

Not quite.

The chef being flown in is Ryan Mangialardo, partner in St. Louis's Pi restaurant. Obama declared Mangialardo's pizza “the best pizza I’ve ever eaten” on the campaign trail last October.

While the president has displayed his Chicago loyalty -- proudly sporting his White Sox baseball hat, rooting for Da Bears, cheering for the Bulls -- some in the Windy City might be surprised about his pizza preference.

It's nice to see we waited hours for such a substantive story.

yes, that was sarcasm.

Palomino:

At your Tea Bagging, are you gonna lay a wreath for Timothy McVeigh ?

Will you have a chance to meet and greet ‘Creationists’ who think man walked with Dinosaurs  (no, no, Not John McCain, REAL Dinosaurs)

Can you get a picture of yourself with David Duke ?

Is NAMBLA attending your ‘Tea Bagging' ?

Will you REJECT AND DENOUNCE FRINGE ELEMENTS at your Tea Bagging ?

Bush same as Obama:
'...EFF Says (Electronic Frontier Foundation)
“Obama Warrantless Wiretap Defense Is Worse than Bush”
Based in San Francisco, EFF is a donor-supported membership organization working to protect fundamental rights regardless of technology.
Kevin Bankston of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a lawyer for the customers, said  The filing was disappointing in light of the Obama presidential campaign's "unceasing criticism of Bush-era secrecy and promise for more transparency."
Obama’s transparency is clear as mud!!! ...'

Agreed
Obama is not CONTINUING Wire Tapping
His administration has moved to quash a suit against the NSA about wire tapping
Obama is NOT WIRE TAPPING

I OPPOSE Obama's position on this as well as his voting for Telecom immunity for previous wire tapping

Obama is NOT PERFECT
And he DOES NOT have lock step support from all progressives

I also have REAL PROBLEMS with his Wall Street Bail out
He seems to be giving away the store to Wall Street

I don’t really like Geithner or Summers
They’re too tied to Wall Street

Nobody is above criticism
Certainly not Obama

But, he still has my enthusiastic support
He and his policies are just not perfect

Really, can Obama ever do anything right?

Why do we care about this silly little gossip story?

http://www.political-buzz.com/
Perhaps he's trying to be honest!!!
This is stupid.  I think it's great Obama is throwing a pizza party at the White House today, but this pirate situation off the coast of Somalia is serious business.  Where is the President on this?
Why isn’t there any reporting about the Republicans “TEA BAGGING” on April 15 LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG - how can he be thinking about Pizza when the US is falling apart!

Come on all you rightes, prove me wrong!  Hahahaha!!!!!
So, just who's paying for this little fly in?
Wait,,,,I hear them now,I hear um all the screaming about Obama spending money to have a pizza chef flown to the house.Lets hear it wing nuts, all the spew, the rants, the whines, the tears,Please spare us,we can only laugh so hard in one day.But wait,I heard Obama had some cookies for a midnight snack,he had a glass of milk also,so wing nuts what ya think,Impeach,50 lash's,walk the plank, tar and feather?
Just like all his other decisions, He only picks the best for the job.
thats ok, chicago deep dish is the bomb, you eat it with a knife and fork one slice will full you up, but my daughter lives in the DC area, and pizza is not the only thing that is lacking there, the barbque joints are not that good. every time she comes home i have to take her right the Lems barbque on east 75th street and prarie in park manor after that she needs her harolds chicken, just like barack and before she leaves, steak and shake is the last stop before she gets on the plane, there chilli she must have. it makes me wonder how folks in DC manage on the food that they have there.
Maybe Obama can take any leftovers and send them to the captain the pirates captured.
MSIERRA

I've been waiting to hear from you.

What would FR be without the king of Fisherman's Wharf chiming in?

I never read your post. I just caught my name in passing. Your posts are long-winded and boring and they all read the same so I usually skip over you just like some people skip over me.

Consider yourself lucky I even took the time to answer you. And don't choke on your beef jerky.

We need your irrational flack to show as an example.

Thanks for thinking of me, big boy.
Good grief such gossip. With all the important stories you could cover you cover this? Maybe he changed his mind. What difference does it make? Is the world going to  end because he isn't eating Chi town pizza?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there are obviously far too many people working at First Read.
Chicago Deep Dish is not that good. In fact, I wouldn't even call it pizza.

I'll match your bbq - pound for pound!  We know bbq and grilled meat in KC!  Pizza, not so much.

Okay, in character for this Pres. is to pay for it himself (swing set, etc.), but flying in pizza chefs in this economy better be covered PC-wise. Kinda like auto CEOs flying in in the corp. jets to beg for a handout from the taxpayer?
