Obama the liar. Just like with the AIG bonuses, Obama has his administration carry his water telling everyone that Obama is only interested in 'looking forward'. But after his little helper monkey's said the same about Obama not going after Patriotic Americans for doing their duty down in Gitmo, Obama once again changes his mind (bending to the whims of Soros and Moveon) and says now he will persecute those Patriots. What a vindicitive little man this Obama is - he never anything but that either.

I wonder how Obama's people feel about being hung out to dry by Obama. First they run around all the talk shows denying they will go after the Bush administration. Gibbs talks on and on about how Obama isn't interested in prosecuting Bush. Then Barry comes out and turns on his own peoples words. Obama has no credibility, either with Americans, or his own administration.

Cheney is such a scum bag! How many times did people seek information from him only to be ignored. Even when the sought information was pertitent to these people being able to do their jobs. Now this coward wants information to be declassified?

This man is a disgrace to America... He was a draft dodger during the Viet Nam War because he said he had other priorities. Now he claims torture was responsible for obtaining critical information that kept us safe during the Bush years. Was that the yellow cake uranium in Africa? I guess it was necessary to find all the WMDs that justified invading Iraq. Now, while our president is abroad, trying to advance peace and prosperity in the world,  Cheney is bad mouthing Obama's desire to keep our country safe.
Heaven help anyone being critical of Bush while in Crawford, much less than abroad, yet here is Cheney putting the safety of our president at risk, blabbering that Obama is not showing enough shock and awe while meeting with more than 20 world leaders on three continents.
This maniac will not be satisfied until he convinces the hair triggered religious fanatics the time is NOW to attack America. Then, strutting his shoot you in the face shuffle, he will shout, "I told you so, America."
I was against prosecution of these thugs before, but I don't see any to keep the world safe from this lippy leprechaun other than to throw him into the dungeon. Let bubba teach Cheney what torture is all about...

You know, there is something more insideous here that may be true. The "torture memos" began before the Iraq war. Miss-information about existing WMDs may've been the bi-product of torture. The war in Iraq may be the dirty little secret about just how INEFFECTIVE torture is. Four-thousand plus American lives later and no WMDs. Why was the Bush administration so sure that they were there? They had said so with such certainty, like they knew they were there? How? I believed a torture victim told them what they wanted to here. A man so tormented he did whatever he needed to make the torture stop. Bush officials believed him.

America wake up !

Doesn't anyone realize that in essense what Dick Cheney is saying is "That if Adolf Hitler could have somehow grabbed Ike Eisenhower and tortured him till he finally said OK we're going to invade at Normandy, that would have been perfectly all right because the so called interrogation was successful.

We hung the Nazi's for war crimes and as far as I'm concerned Dick Cheney is no better than they are.

Personally I'm proud to be an American because we have always been above those kind of procedures.

The end justifies the means?  Is the VP above the Law? Why is Cheney making all the noise?  Is he speaking for the increasingly villified ex-President who is reportedly hiding behind the bottle and depression?  He needs to measure his comments for he may be perceived as 'protesting too much'... methinks!as Hamlet once said of his mother...Maybe Cheney is trying to protect something that is probably true..He was guilty of endorsing the torture chambers...a-la Saddam!

Why does, Cheney, a private citizen have any special right or privilege to demand declassification? Given his long history of operating in secret, this latest stance is just a little to "rich".  Actualy, just very hypocritical. I do think the reports should be released. I also thing his commuinication with Libby and Addington should also be release.

Cheney's major contribution to the Republican Party is to it's Log Cabin branch, and I'm not downplaying that. It's just that this yahoo does not have the ability to process the depths of torture that he deems the right to inflict. Empathy, empathy, empathy. Bush, for all his failings does possess this emotion, but Cheney is devoid.
Torture is a combination of pain and fear, plain and simple. What Lynn's oxymoronic lover can not comprehend is either pain or fear.

Our radical Islamist adversaries however, relish both pain and fear. Oh yeah... They dig death too. Suicide bombers? They have far more virgins on their mind than I wish to seduce in this lifetime. This doesn't include the bonus they're told they will obtain upon successful deception.
These folks pray for their children to become successful suicide bombers so they can become martyrs and go straight to a heaven far removed from the misery they live in, no need to pass GO, for crying out LORD, but straight to paradise. When the rest of the report on the terrorist interrogations is made public and the information learned from these "harsh tactics" is made known the question will arise...were the tactics worth it? If serious terror attacks were disrupted and key info about terrorist organizations' structure, personnel and plans were uncovered what will be the reactions in america? Viewpoint #1 which is held by most democrats, most of the media, academia in general and of course the faaaaar left is no, the "harsh tactics" should never have been used as it lowers america to the level of terrorists. Of course this opinion is either the opinion of fools or liars. In its hatred of Bush the holders of opinion #1 want us to believe that they are so pure in their motives for opposing "harsh tactics" that they would be willing to sacrifice a piece of their country and american citizens (themselves not included) rather than sully themselves which is of course foolish, or more likely a lie. Viewpoint # 2 is the practical one. The thought of torturing another human being is not pleasant to any sane, "normal" person. Reality however intrudes frequently into our "normal" world. The Bush administration' had very little time to do what they were elected and sworn to do...protect the citizens of the United States. If a second attack had occured I have no doubt the holders of opinion # 1 would have been screaming for Bush's inmpeachment. Obama released the partial report because he wants to continue to drag the Bush years through the mud even to the point of releasing info that may be of help to our enemies(border line sedition).Bet on Obama to keep this up for the next 4 years(at least) because it is part of his plan to retain power. He did not release the results of the interrogation because he does not want americans to think about opinion # 2.

Memos claiming success or proving success make no difference.  If we tortured our prisoners, we took the wrong road.  Breaking the law to catch law breakers will not be upheld by legal jurisdictions or the court of public opinion.

So... if according to the wackos on the right... that releasing the legal memos was so dangerous and risky to our operatives...  then by that logic Cheney requesting actual detailed memos on what they exactly did, how they benefitted, and what information they got is even more dangerous and risky.

I'd love to see how you nutjobs spin this one.
