Kathleen Sebelius was finally confirmed as HHS secretary last night. The vote was 65-31. The Hill: "Senate Republicans insisted on subjecting Sebelius to a 60-vote margin but Democrats got the result they wanted with votes to spare," The Hill writes. GOPers voting for her: Specter, Brownback, Roberts, Collins, Gregg, Lugar, Snowe and Voinovich.

I feel this woman will do a fine job.  And thanks to those Repugs who voted for her.  Maybe they are considering following in Spector's lead?  We shall see!
Despite the dirty political tricks of the repugnant ones Sebelius has overcome.  It's about time we have an HHS Secretary and now we can tackle universal health care, the only affordable helath care that works!

Support Universal Health Care!

One down.  Which one will bolt the party next?

Interesting how Brownback the Uber-conservative anti-abortion supported the governor of his state.
Collins and Snowe seem pretty safe in Maine. They are true moderates and does not have a viable GOP threat as Spector had.
juan, Ft. lauderdale, they needed her out of the way there.  She is very popular and they really didn't want to compete with that.

She will do great in this role; but she could have easily turned a red senate seat blue.

I made a mistake yesterday - Brownback is running for re-election - he is going to run for governor, but he still didn't want to bump up against her popularity.
