Cheryl D. Mills, counselor and chief of staff to Secretary of State Clinton released this statement:

At 7:30am this morning, Secretary Clinton underwent a two hour surgery to successfully repair her fractured right elbow. Her doctors at The George Washington University Hospital have advised her that they expect her to make a full recovery without lasting damage to her arm. After the surgery she returned to her home in Washington where she will remain with her family through the weekend.

Decisions about her schedule and travel will be made and announced in the days to come.

She, President Clinton, and Chelsea are grateful for the many prayers and messages of good will they have received these past few days, and are so very thankful for the excellent care provided by the doctors, nurses and the staff of The George Washington University Hospital.

*** UPDATE *** State Department spokesman Ian Kelly said this afternoon Secretary Clinton is in a cast after surgery to repair her elbow this morning. She went under general anaesthesia for the procedure. Kelly cited "privacy concerns" as the reason her scheduled surgery was not made public before it happened.

Yea! Excellent news!
During the surgery, did they find those missing billing records?
Hillary will be out and about next week telling everyone she was wounded in a sniper attack.
btw - Tucker Carlson, who was on MSNBC for a short while, now contributes for Fox. I saw him yesterday and he is not in Obie's corner. Makes you wonder how many people at NBC are there just for the job and politically see things differently than the Obie clan.

You DON’T say… for such a ‘fast’ little critter… you sure are SLOW when it comes to current events!

I don’t know why I’m bothering… BUT… Tucker Carlson worked for the McBomber campaign! Try getting your info from something other than the comic books you’re so fond of!

So yeah you’re right… he’s not in President Obama’s corner!  Genious!
[At 7:30am this morning, Secretary Clinton underwent a two hour surgery to successfully repair her fractured right elbow.]
--The joke: I hope they were able to repair her funny bone.  I was worried I'd never hear that laugh again.  (see wasn't that better than previous classless jokes about Sec. Clinton on drugs)?

--The serious: surgery is a tough deal.  I hope her orthopedic surgery and recovery fairs to 100%, it's a tough heal.  She'll need that arm for all the hard work she is accomplishing.
That's good news.  No doubt she'll feel much better now that the fracture is repaired.

Feisty Redhead -- earlier for whatever reason I listed M.Sierra as the nationwide lister of liberal posts.  Sorry about that, I knew it was you but typed the wrong name.
She will always be a fighter. A broken bone cannot stop a woman who wants to work for us.
that fracture must have been worse than originally thought-I know about this kind of surgery, requires plates and screws to keep the bone in place-and she'll probably need another surgery toremove some of the screwsin a couple of months.

It's a shame-I hpe she gets well soon.
Elbow surgery can be rough.

All politics aside, I hope Hillary feels better soon.
I read today that Max Bacchus makes 15,000 bucks a day from lobbyists of the insurance monopoly. And people wonder why he flipped on this issue?

Listen folks. 74% of Americans want a single payer option and our elected officials are willing to ignore the will of the people for a paycheck.

It's time to learn a lesson from Iran. How about we take a break from sitting on our asses watching washed up celebrities eat bugs and hit the streets for what we believe in.

I work in the wine industry but I am also an active musician. I for one am going to use that platform this weekend at a couple gigs to start to organize a health care revolution. In fact I have heard that Senator Patty Murray herself will be at the gig I am playing Sunday to benefit Fred Hutchinson cancer center. I think her and I need to have a little talk!
I am so glad she has health insurance. I hope she feels better soon.
Lucky Hillary has a great public option to pay for her successful elbow surgery.  I wish for her to have a full swift recovery so she can get back to doing her successful work as Secretary of State.  I think that Bill and Chelsea owe us taxpayers a round of thanks for paying for Hillary's successful elbow surgery on her public option health care plan.

Got to wonder how many poor people who break their elbows get successful elbow surgery?  Probably not many and they get it through the high emergency room rate on our taxpayer dime.  This is why we need to have a public option, to cut down on those emergency room visits by the uninsured.

Recover Quickly and Fully Hillary!
It really ain't any of our business how Iran handles the situation, Ron Paul voted correctly, we have plenty of our own problems for Congress to work on.
was she "dazed" "confused" disoriented before falling?
better watch her job LOL

AND, Jon Stewart handed him his @ss 3-4 years ago.  He has never been even remotely moderate.  I didn't know he worked on McCain's campaign (Tucker Bounds); but he is to coin Jon Stewart, "...a douchebag..."

Keep up the good fight. Ya'll drive the liberals insane. You know they want to kick you off of "their" site as they don't like opinions other than theirs. They require extra doses of medication b/c of ya'll.

Thanks!!
Hillary survived and beat the GOP attack machine for 15 years so overcoming this elbow fracture will be no problem.

Hope she is fully recovered and ready to run for President again in 2016!
It's good to know that the health care debate is being run by experts-a grape picking guitar plucker, Mark in Seattle-is going to start a revolution!  patty Murray, she of  "Osama bin laden won the hearts and minds of the middle east by building schools, clinics, and daycare centers", (and the idiots who vote in Washingtn State re-elected her!)will be there!  WooHoo!

You libs make this so easy.

It's a loser. Evidently, there is truth to the old axiom 'liberals never look back'.  2010 is going to make 1994 look like a democrat cakewalk.
Get well soon Hillary, our country needs you, and you are doing a great job for us.
was she "dazed"....  Not even remotely clever or funny.  Elbow surgery is serious and I know from experience.  As I said yesterday, I fell and crushed my elbow.  I was not confused or dazed, I caught the tip of my shoe in a pavement crack and wham.  It 7 hours of surgery to repair my elbow and another surgery many months later to remove some screws and add a large pin to connect upper and lower bones.  Months of physical therapy and lucky to have use of my dominant arm at all.  It was 2 years before my arm was completely healed.  It is no joking matter.
they should have done a lobotomy while they were at it

i wholeheartedly agree, and this is the reason that i'm currently working on getting on the ballot for congress in my district as an independent.  (do you realize how hard the two parties have made it for independent/3rd party candidates to even get on the ballot?  just getting the information i need on the legal logistics has proven to be a nightmare...)

Apathy:  the word that describes the populous' attitude towards politics for the past 30 years.  it is this cause that has allowed our elected officials to sell us out to the highest bidder (Insurance and Oil lobby) for their own profit, and they still get reelected because of the incumbent advantage.  utterly disgusting to me how service to the people has only shown benefits to these 'servants'.

Use any platform you can get to promote what is right.  Call out those dealing with misinformation and spin, and take this country back from the power elite that has become complacent while the majority of this county's citizens suffer.
Hillary has to stop leaning to the left so much. It's bad for her health.
maybe she was "tired" and "misstepped just once"?  maybe it was snipers?  I think she was pulling against Obama's leash too hard and got hurt.  Obama wouldn't let her "ANNIHILATE IRAN", she was itching to carry out a campaign promise so in 2012 she can run a primary challenge against Obama and point out with 4 years as president he carried out 0% of his promises, while she, after LOSING still carried out at least ONE of hers.

welcome to changeville

Classy!!!  You guys just upped your credibility with this leftie.  I for one appreciate your humanity and want to give you props.

Good Luck, Madam Secretary.  I hope your recovery is swift and complete.

American's need the same Health Care Plan which Secy. of State Hillary is given.  All American's have EARNED the same "Public" Health Care Plan which all Washington bureaucrats are given.  In times of war, american's throughout this nation have proudly sent their children into battle.  Do we deserve less?

Pick a day!I say July 31st we should mobilize and start a peaceful demonstration at each state capital...forget this tea party stuff...I say we gather where they do business and let them know the will of the people.  Bring em out in wheelchairs, on crutches...and if you can't make it the don a band-aid over your heart to show unity.

It has to start somewhere.  Pass it on.

=====================

Much Respect!!!
It's tough to have a "broken wing," even tougher when you're expected to travel the world and appear at numerous events.  Do whatever it takes to rest and heal, Secretary Clinton.  It'll take everything you've got to take on this broken world for the next few years.
I know the pain.  it happened to me.  It can happen so fast.  In my case I was in a hurry and tripped.  I am fine now. Thinking of you with prayers for your speedy Recovery.  May God bless you.
