Because Gov. Sanford is a Republican, he cannot mimic the way Obama handles the press. From that, Gov. Sanford will have to be honest, candid and fully answer every question. This is very unlike how Obama deals with the press.

For the govenor not to be home on Father's Day is more telling than most folks are pointing out.

What a dismissal of his responsibilities - that of being available for them - not to mention the rest of the state.

Watch the difference in the tone of the media at Sanford's news conference vs. that of Obama's news conference yesterday. Today you'll see a skeptical and adversarial, and maybe even hostile, press corp. You know, a press corp that is actually doing their job.

Hopefully someone will ask about the use of state vehicles for this little flight of fancy. And who paid for the trip? And why go to Buenos Aires during their winter- it's not the best weather down there, right now.

There are of course, many reasons that a man would go off to that part of the world, "alone". They just aren't reasons that the "Family Values" crowd would be super keen on.

Actually the more I think about it what the hell's wrong with this man, being a Gov, not telling anyone where he is. Irresponsible if you ask me. Wonder how the people in his state feel about it. Did he go away so he could pout in an undisclosed location? I know he was told he had to accept the stimulus money, so acting like a child, throwing a tantrum is how he deals with it??

I disagree. I have four sons just like Gov Sanford does. Of course I love them, but the best gift I get every Mother's Day is when my husband takes them out for the day and I get a day to myself. Maybe Gov Sanford felt some quiet time was perfectly reasonable-because it is.

This story is so overblown.

It will be so much fun to listen to Lost Sanford make up a pack of lies to explain away his AWOL absence from his state and his wife and family. So funny that yuesterday his staff said he was on the Appalachia Trail after talking to him and now we find out he was fooling around down in Argentina. What kind of jerk would abandon his wife and family over Father's Day weekend? A repugnant one jerk is who. So much for their false family values.

We can only hope that the media presses him on who he was with down in Argentina and who was his Evita. It's obvious by his secretive escape that he has something to hide and hopefully the truth will come out. The media had better send it's reporters down to Argentina to find out where he was and who he was with to verify or repute what he says.

Another one bites the Dust! Two repugnant one up and coming presidential hopefuls down in two weeks, pretty soon the party of sore losers will run out of potential sacrificial lambs to be led to the 2012 slaughter by Obama's reelection.
