2009: Obama confident, McDonnell ad

NEW JERSEY: President Obama said he was “confident” that Governor Jon Corzine would be re-elected in the November gubernatorial election. "But the president cautioned that the governor's race will be driven by state issues and New Jersey politics -- and won't be an early referendum on his own administration." Corzine stumped for Obama during the presidential race, although he supported Hillary Clinton in the primary. Calling Corzine a “friend,” Obama said he would provide aid to the campaign, though he did not say how. Corzine, a former Goldman Sachs CEO, is funding his own campaign.

Republican gubernatorial nominee Chris Christie will appear at 11:00 a.m. ET today before the Democratically-controlled House Judiciary Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law to testify about million-dollar no-bid monitoring contracts he awarded while U.S. attorney. The panel seeks to reform such “deferred prosecution agreements,” like the one Christie gave his former boss John Ashcroft, “worth as much as $52 million,” for monitoring a medical device maker Christie was investigating for Medicare fraud.

The hearing could be unprecedented. Political scientists who watch governors and Congress could not remember another time a gubernatorial candidate was called before a committee controlled by the opposing party. “It’s obviously political, but that doesn’t mean it’s illegitimate,” said Larry Sabato, a political scientist at the University of Virginia.  “He’s running as the clean, untouched, unblemished alternative to Jon Corzine,” Sabato continued. “Well, then you touch him, you blemish him. It’s a perfectly legitimate subject, he’s a legitimate witness, but it’s political.”

VIRGINIA: Virginia Republican Bob McDonnell “became the first candidate for governor to go on television in the general election campaign.” McDonnell spent about $300,000 on the ad, “Resurgence,” which focuses on job creation and entrepreneurship.

I sure like that President Obama is supporting Corzine in New Jersey, must drive no joe, no bo, no job crazy.  Sounds like repugnant one Christie has some explaining to do about those disgusting bushwhacker no-bid contracts, hopefully he'll be hauled into court and prosecuted for illegal dealings.

Repugnant one McConnell is just desperate so that's why he has to go on tv so soon.  Just love the smell of desperate evil elephants early in the morning.

In Obama We Trust!
The Jersey republicans have already began bombarding us with attack ads against Corzine, regurgitating the same old talking points.  I find it to be a bit unnecessary since the GOP already has its best chance at the Jersey state house in years.  It's strange.  Even when the GOP is in the better position, they just can't help alienating voters by trying to tear down their opponents.

A word of caution to McConnell, in Michigan's last gubernatorial election Dick Devoss of Amway fame spent tons of money on Advertising more than a year before the election.  The results he lost by a large margin.  For those of you who think if he had been elected Michigan wouldn't be in such bad shape now think again.  It would be the same if McCain had been elected, we'd all be in up to our knees by now.
Corzine, another Cadillac Communist-Mercedes Marxist just like George Soros! Glad to see these millionaire Dems are so in touch with the common man.

The Obamas are millionaires too in case you forgot.

TAX THE RICH, war cry of the Dems.
Christie's reputation as being clean has now been challenged because of the question of handing no bid contracts to people he knows to over see agreements made with white colar criminals.

Jawillie is correct that the Republicans are buying ads against Corzine.  The ads fail to mention a few things.  One of which is that the recession and bank scandles his NJ hard because of many of the financial jog disappeared.  No one governor can make jobs appear in the state; they can make businesses want to locate in NJ though.  Corzine has also been dealing with the problem that has been created by previous governors of both parties -- a mounting set of mistakes in making budgets.  It isn't easy to correct that in one term with a recession.
CORZINE'S DEFEAT WILL BE A REFERENDUM ON THE DEMOCRATS INSANE GOVERNING.

P.S. --- Notice how Obama is already distancing himself from his fellow Democrat's expected defeat!
