No Al Gore today

From NBC's Mike Viqueira

Al Gore's scheduled appearance at a Democratic leadership rally promoting the energy bill has been canceled.

The official reason is that there is now a comfort level with the bill's prospects in the House that was not there just yesterday, and therefore Gore's presence both at a closed-door Dem caucus meeting and subsequent rally is not needed.
"It's a question of what was energy efficient for the vice president," said House speaker Nancy Pelosi.

There is also the feeling that a splashy rally might not be productive in terms of convincing fence sitters to vote "yeah" on the measure, as many of the holdouts are either moderate Dems or Republicans who might either wouldn't be at the caucus to begin with, or who might not be comfortable having Gore parachute in and be seen as having their arm twisted by the former veep.

Yes!  The Dems will save planet Earth from the sun!

Since the rally has been cancelled, does this mean Gore will board his private jet, and return to his unoccupied house to turn off the air conditioning?

I can't speak for anyone else but those that are fence sitters on the climate control and energy bill will face re-election efforts in 2012 (Dems). You all were elected to get important issues done and not to sit on the sidelines and play politics as usual.

You arms aren't being twisted as your asses would be come 2012 election year. Al Gore is no longer in the office of enforcer...you have no other reason to procrastinate...get it done
No Al Gore today, tomorrow or next year.

The guy is a global warming maniac and wrong. It's all about the money, isn't it Al?

May a gentle snowfall follow you wherever you go.
Man-made global warming is a myth.  There is nothing we can do to affect the earth.  The climate is cyclical and there are drastic changes over millions of years.  The earth will be just fine long after we're gone.

There is evidence of crocodiles in the arctic millions of years ago.  That means it was warmer once, long before man.  An Ice Age happened and we have been thawing out ever since.

The ozone scare from the 80s?  Fixed itself.

The ice age scare from the 70s?  Didn't happen.

Myth.

President Obama just gave a great short speech supporting cap and trade and energy independence.  Now Liar Pence is on whining about the energy bill so it's time to change the channel until I'm sure his pack of lies is over.

I'm not sure whether it's wise to keep Al Gore in the closet considering the energy bill.  So what he's a lightning rod for the repugnant ones to start whining about climate change.  I think it would be good to show the repugnant ones that their clueless whining is not going to derail this much needed legislation and that Al Gore can speak his peace if he wants to in front of crowds or meetings of Democrats.

I'm liking the new newscaster on MSNBC tv during the mornings, well my left coast mornings, named Carlos Watson.  He does a good job of reporting the news and I look forward to seeing him on more on MSNBC tv.

In Al Gore We Trust!
And what does Gore have in common with Kerry?

2000 & 2004   LOL. Whew!

Thanks again.
He was probably afraid to face deniers of his political science.

Rumor has it that he was going to use footage from the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" to make his point about global warming.
Al Gore doesn't want to be associated with the dead in the water, and soon to be dead, green house gas bill. The guy has a reputation to uphold, he is a Nobel prize winner you know.
Al couldn't fit through the doors at the capital?
Either he was seen as a bully threatening people or there was enough possible votes that they didn't need him.  I am more inclind to say that they were threatening people with bringing him there.  The only down side is that now Republicans will say that he was a "no show" and doesn't really care about the environment.
I'll bet that Al Gore is ready to celebrate. If this bill passes, he will be enriched beyond belief. People, this isn't for the environment or our country. This is to create a new stream of wealth for the powerful and it will all come from our pockets.
Probably too cold and snowy for him to show up.
Any Representitive from the Rust Belt that votes for this bill should be voted out of office. Democrats, Republicans, Indepenents, it doesn't matter. Americans in the Rust Belt will lose the most jobs and pay the most in additional taxes if this bill passes.
What? Not everybody loves and admires AlGore? Say it ain't so!
FR: Dems or Republicans who might either wouldn't be at the caucus to begin with, or who might not be comfortable having Gore parachute in and be seen as having their arm twisted by the former veep.

I don't think there's a parachute strong enough to hold Big Al.
We love Vice President Gore! This country would look very different if the Supreme Court did not appoint Bush in 2000! Very different!
Al would have shown up in Washington, but he couldn't find his way out of his 22,000 sq ft. fully air-conditioned mansion.
Al Gore a VP who:
Didn't get five deferrments
Didn't authorize torture
Didn't betray a CIA agent
Didn't have a Chief of Staff convicted of treason
Didn't shoot anyone in the face
Didn't lie about WMD

Bad Chihuahua

What are you drinking today Bad Chihuahua? awol...per chance? Not you usual spikey self, lots of lamenting...
You GOPers are a crude and igorant bunch. Al Gore is more of a man, and American, than all of you jackels and flat-earthers put together.

Too bad reality has a liberal bias. You discredited neo-cons and Bush dead-enders are still smarting your hero Sanford proved a lying adulteous fool.

Tough cookies for the dying GOP these days,. All you have is insults, and they are Sooo Lame.
There is no need for mugwumps on this issue. The fact is we cannot continue to rely on a fuel that comes from countries that hate us, pollutes, is not renewable nor is the supply sustainable but flows at the whim of some foreign potentate. Even without the global warming or pollution thing it is the responsible way to go. What can be wrong with home grown, renewable, sustainable, and yes, clean energy?

It was tough a hundred years ago for some to accept automobiles and to give up their horse and buggy but eventually they did. There will still be some clinging to the 21st Century version of this regarding energy but eventually they will come around and get that shiny new solar collector, windmill or hydrogen power generator.
The Supreme Court didn't appoint Bush in 2000.  Bush WON the ELECTORAL VOTE.

Quit crying, Liberals.
Energy Bill...

How can anyone vote against "energy"
We all need "energy" - right!

However, what they (including MSNBC) arent telling you is...

The estimated increase in revenue for the government is over 350 BILLION per YEAR!!! (and will go UP)

But dont worry - only the people that use energy will pay this tax - or the people that buy products that were made with energy will also pay the tax.  I'm sure that Obama's promise to not raise taxes on anyone making less than 250k wont mind being lied to - again!

This plan (if passed) will result in the largest tax increase in THE HISTORY OF THE USA!!!!

And - we dont even know what will be done with the taxes that Al Gore's Company will be collecting OR what the tax will hope to reduce in CO2???

What would you guys have done if Bush proposed a 350 Billion Tax to be collected by one of his buddies???

Wouldn't you at least like to ask questions about it?

Why aren't the "news" media (not like they really exist) asking questions about it?

Why can't I offer certificates to the companies in the USA?  Why does only Al Gore's Company get to sell these certificates?  can you say (NO-BID)
