Congress: Obey vs. Waters

The Hill reports on the altercation between Reps. David Obey and Maxine Waters. "'You’re out of line,' Waters shot while walking down toward the well. 'You’re out of line,' Obey shot back before turning and walking away.

But then Obey stopped, turned back toward Waters, and shouted: 'I’m not going to approve that earmark!' Obey turned away, but Waters went to go huddle with members of the Congressional Black Caucus. She could be over heard telling them: 'He touched me first.'" Obey huddled with Steny Hoyer. "Waters soon returned briefly, again telling her colleagues: 'He touched me.' Waters then disappeared into the cloakroom." Members continued to argue over who started it and who pushed who. Both are 71 years old.

Roll Call's take: "The confrontation began with the two talking in each other’s faces and gesturing animatedly with their hands. Obey then attempted to walk away, but Waters kept following him. Obey then put his hand on Waters arm and shoulder, and Waters became irate. Obey again turned away, dismissing Waters by throwing up his hands, but Waters continued to stalk him, talking to his back and making a shoving motion. Waters followed Obey down to the well of the House, and as the confrontation -- and shoves -- continued, Obey turned and told her: 'You are out of line.' To which Waters retorted: 'You are out of line.' 'I am not going to approve that earmark!' Obey exclaimed, then hustled away from Waters."

Reuters: "The U.S. House of Representatives is poised to vote on Friday on one of the most significant environmental bills in history -- a sprawling measure that aims to wean industry off of carbon-emitting fuels blamed for global warming. Democratic leaders were working hard to ensure there were at least 218 votes in the 435-seat House to pass the legislation that is a high priority for President Barack Obama."

Freshman North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan is not on board yet for a public insurance option. Here come the MoveOn ads?

Obey and Waters need to stop making like frustrated repugnant ones and start working together like adults.  They need to put their little tiff behind them and start working together today to pass energy legislation that is good for our country.  They must remember that the real enemy is the repugnant ones and they must unite to defeat the dopes of nope yet again.

Pass the Energy Bill Today!
Listening to the debate on the floor. Seems democrats are bitching more than anyone about this being another enron scheme for the scum in New York to rape the American people more. Another 300 pages added last night? Bet no one knows what those extra pages really mean either.  We need a new “birth of freedom” from this mess: of the lawyers, by the lawyers, for the lawyers.

Democrats. Can't even line up right.
--- She (Waters) could be over heard telling them: 'He touched me first.'" ---

I sure hope Obey has had his shots.

And these are the people that are about to vote in the biggest tax hike every with these stupid environmental laws of theirs. The biggest dumbasses on God's green earth.
While Ms. Waters is a formidable woman it is still the norm in this country for a man not to be pushing a woman around even if she pushes him first. Customs die hard. This is one custom I support. Obey was out of line if he touched her at all regardless of who touched who first. I don't care party affiliation or whatever Mr. Obey needs to obey the customs and now apologize to Ms. Waters.
THAT'S APPARENTLY WHY THEY CALL HER "MS. LOWCLASS."
This woman is a loud mouthed bully! Did you guys read the story? She was complaining about not getting earmark money for her own name! Then when Obey said no she tried to funnell the money through a school, please can you not see the dishonesty? Does it not matter? Dem or Rep this kind of crap has to stop! Thats the type of change I am interested in!!!
So now we see what happens when members of congress don't get their way! What about the peoples way. Since when is it more important to get your name on a building or somethigthan to do what you were sent up there to do? First it's call me senator now, it's I want my name on something. The self importance of these people is just getting to be too much.
That Maxime Waters is really a piece of work.  First she declares Barack Obama to be a "boy" whom she'd never support, now she wants a museum funded in her honor at taxpayer expense - what else.  So to hear her have a tantrum over something personal and then try to accuse someone else for her misbehavior doesn't surprise me one bit.
...and by the way...it was Waters pursuing and literally shoving Obey down the hall.  So to hear Waters complain that Obey "touched" her first, that's so ludicrous, it isn't funny.  All he did was put his hand on her shoulder trying to calm her down.  Waters - what a joke!
If Waters touched him first then she violated the law and should be arrested!

Nevermind, laws dont count in that house!
Obey should knock that wig off her head!!!
Its good to see Rev Jackson standing by her side - I have missed him every since he tried to buy the senate seat for his son - I bet Rev Jackson is mad at Burris - He got the seat with only "promising" to send a check!

LOL....That is some funny sh**. Both of those old a-holes need to go somewhere and sit down.
THESE PEOPLE WILL WORK IT OUT FRIENDS FIGHT SOMTIMES.LOVE YOU MICHEAL FOREVER!
