First thoughts: Palin-palooza

*** Palin-palooza: So much for an uneventful July 4 holiday weekend, huh? The news Friday that Sarah Palin not only won’t run for re-election in 2010 (which wasn’t much of a surprise), but would also be resigning from office later this month (a complete shocker) was the latest drama to surround the former Republican presidential running mate. The questions on everyone’s mind: Does this mean she WON’T be running for president in 2012? Or WILL she be running? And if so, does resigning 2 ½ years into her first statewide political term strengthen her hand or seriously weaken it? Well, in a July 4 posting on her Facebook page, she sure sounded like someone with dreams of the Oval Office dancing in her head. “[T]hough it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make,” she wrote. Palin also fired off this Twitter message yesterday: "Critics are spinning, so hang in there as they feed false info on the right decision made as I enter last yr in office to not run again..."

*** Not Obama or Nixon: When she wrote that it’s “honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling,” Palin might very well have been referring to Obama, who began running for president just after two years into his first U.S. Senate term. But there is one big difference between the two: Obama’s national reputation was pristine from the moment he gave that 2004 convention speech to his presidential announcement, while Palin’s image (after the Bristol-Levi breakup, the feud with David Letterman, and that devastating Vanity Fair piece) is more of mixed bag. On Sunday, the New York Times also compared her decision to resign to Richard Nixon’s exodus from politics before winning the ’68 presidential election. But the difference between the two is that Nixon served eight years as vice president, two years as a U.S. senator, and four years as a congressman, while Palin has served in statewide office for just 2 ½ years. Indeed, Palin’s decision to resign might only reinforce the perception that she’s not a serious politician with the policy chops to be president in these serious times.

Video: William Kristol of “The Weekly Standard” talks with TODAY’s Natalie Morales about the likelihood of a Sarah Palin run for the White House in 2012.

*** And I did it my way: All that said, the normal political rules don’t seem to apply to Palin. Once removed from office, she will be flooded with requests for speaking engagements, and will turn mundane GOP congressional events into exciting rallies that draw her most ardent supporters (as well as those turning out to see a potential car wreck). In short, Palin's resignation was all about self-interest -- improving her financial standing and her political standing as the Republicans' biggest celebrity. And given her appeal to the GOP base, she knows she can do this her way. Palin definitely has a future as a conservative political celebrity, but does she risk her influence on a presidential run? She could end up having a parallel career to a Pat Buchanan -- active commentator with a loyal following and an occasional (but not successful) presidential candidate. Who has more to fear from Sarah Palin? Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty? Or Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity?

*** Geography and the calendar: There are two other legitimate reasons for Palin’s resignation, if she’s planning a presidential bid. One is geography. As political analyst Charlie Cook tells First Read, running for president was hard enough for Bill Clinton (in ’92 from Little Rock) and for George W. Bush (in ’00 from Austin), and it’s probably even harder now that campaigns have begun earlier and have become more expensive. So just think about the challenges of running for president in 2012 from Juneau. “Someone might be an effective governor or a serious candidate but not both,” Cook says. Second, Obama launched his presidential bid in Feb. 2007. If she used that same time frame, Palin would announce in Feb. 2011 -- just one month after she would have completed her first term. That's not nearly enough time to make money in the private sector, or build a national campaign team through considerable political travel in the Lower 48. But writing in Slate, Bruce Reed noted that politicians who have quit their day jobs to run for president (Bob Dole, Mitt Romney, Bill Bradley, John Edwards) haven’t been all that successful. Running while still holding office (Clinton, Bush 43, Obama) does still appear to be the better way to go.

*** Just askin': Who thought, as of early last week, that Sarah Palin would be resigning from office before Mark Sanford (we think)?

*** Obama in Russia: Turning to non-Palin news, President Obama already has arrived in Moscow, laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Russian Soldier, and met with Russian President Medvedev at the Kremlin. At 10:50 am ET, the two leaders hold a joint press conference (although this appears to be running late). And afterwards, Obama greets U.S. embassy personnel and attends a dinner hosted by Medvedev. Of course, there will be plenty of glad-handing when Obama and Medvedev announce their nuclear-arms agreement of sorts. But the fine print needs to be worked out. And, frankly, it seems as if things already aren't going as well as perhaps the Obama administration originally hoped it would. In the last few days, in fact, it has been lowering expectations for this meeting. The two will announce the easy stuff today, including a framework for continued negotiations on nuclear arms reduction, as well as official Russian permission to use their air space for our military campaign in Afghanistan. But it's the hard stuff -- missile defense and Iran -- that will get most of the attention from the press, and there’s little evidence of progress from either side on these issues.

Video: President Obama and his family have arrived in Moscow for a U.S.-Russia summit. NBC’s Savannah Guthrie reports.

*** From Russia with love? Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Obama’s Russia trip is the semi-cold reception he’s probably going to receive. It's not the Cold War, but it's not yet warm. Is it partly cloudy with a chance of cold or partly sunny with a chance of warmth? You decide. Indeed, today's early events were as gray and understated as the grayness of this city right now. The mood of the relationship and the weather do seem to match.

*** The world is flat watch: While the issues are completely unrelated, keep an eye on three hot spots today: China, Honduras, and Iran. All three countries are experiencing some domestic tumult -- ethnic clashes in China, the coup in Honduras, and of course the aftermath of the disputed election in Iran. As Buffalo Springfield famously noted, “There's something happenin' here, what it is ain't exactly clear.” Then again, this could simply be a result of the world being flat, so we see and hear about everything now.

*** $1.4 million a day? Wow. Finally, Congress returns this week from its July 4 recess, and its main work between now and August will be hammering out the details on health-care reform. Be sure to check out today’s Washington Post story on the health-care lobbying effort, which notes that the health industry has hired “more than 350 former government staff members and retired members of Congress in hopes of influencing their old bosses and colleagues,” and that it’s spending more than $1.4 million a day on lobbying. Wow, is there any way to describe this story other than the health-care industry has hired, LITERALLY, an army of lobbyists? (Speaking of lobbyists, Roll Call has an interesting story about which Democratic lobbyists have secured the best access to the White House. Here's a hint: They have ties to Daschle and Gephardt.) In other congressional news, it looks like Al Franken will be seated on Tuesday, and his nameplate outside his office will be installed today.  and

PART: 1 OF FACTS- Economy
-------------------------------------
I SUSPOSE I should have my secretary type "everything" for me then typo's wouldn't be on my post just as they are on others and grammatical error’s wouldn’t exsist. I am not a typest and far from perfect. Mistakes happen. BTW ...the thanks can go to Alabama until age 9, Ohio and "Michigan" private schools until age 16, Birmingham Southern College 17-20, and a cross language dialects of  East coast, mid America and mis-western America. lol, lol I have tried to answer you but my post haven't made it. These are facts Pete and I expect sustainable answers to your rhetoric. Please debate this...

The President isn't issueing hand outs. You republicans had been on "welfare" and living in government housing for eight years and collecting assistance.

1. Unemployment over 10% and rising.

(a). Unemployment was expected to rise over 10%. We are still experiencing the spike from the recession. The recession started in 2007. Unemployment will level off, it's starting to already.

2. Gasoline averaging $3 per gallon.

(b) Gasoline won't go over $3 a gallon. the national average is at $2.63 a gallon and during summer months gas always increases and decreases in August. It isn’t $5.00 a gallon is is?

3. Despite the hype, no end in sight for Iraq, Afghanistan or North Korean problems.

(c). And you can thank your president for Iraq and Afghanistan. You voted for both wars when you voted for Bush. The North Korean problem didn't just occur either. The Bush administration "never" entertained serious peace talks with them. North Korea has alway's been a threat to everyone's national security. Antother mess left to clean up by this administration, like all of the others.

4. GM, one of Americas largest and oldest manufacturing firms is now a bankrupt shell.

(d) Rick Waggoner (CEO)(sp) thank’s for the colapse, Bob Lutz, Chairman. Both were in bed with Bush and Cheney’s oil companies. GM caused it's own demise...did President Obama build gas guzzles that attracted revenue for the oil companies? Waggoner knew that GM would not continue to survive. The "first" Hummer is a prime example. Ford Motor Company hasn't collapsed. It was a management issue and GM will emerge out of bankruptcy stronger, debt free.

Bush and the republicans were calling for it to fail in November and December of 2008 weren’t they? Yet, as of today here is the latest news. “Harry Wilson, a member of President Barack Obama's automotive task force, testified Wednesday that the government has no plans to continue funding GM past July 10 if the sale is not approved by then. Wilson said a quick sale is needed, because the government cannot keep sinking billions in tax dollars into the company for an open-ended period of time with no guarantee of success”.

“Richman argued Thursday that a traditional or accelerated restructuring of GM under Chapter 11 could still allow the automaker to meet its goal of emerging from court oversight in less than 90 days, but give everyone, including the bondholders, a fair chance to negotiate with the company.

They will survive and be leaner Pete, they actually have plans to open a new plant in Michigan.

these things really matter for Peace...way less fear factor
ACT I
GOP 2012

Rush Limbaugh, titular head of the conservative wing of the Republican Party, was visibly upset at the loss of Mark Sanford. Limbaugh stated, “He (Sanford) would have been the JFK of the GOP.” Rush does not necessarily like Romney, Gingrich, or Huckabee.  Palin has been his favorite all along.

Limbaugh, and maybe others, went to Sarah and said something like, “You are the hope for the conservatives and the party needs you to run in 2012.”  Resign your governorship and you will be free to move about the country. (Sorry Southwest for borrowing your line.)  You can unite libertarians, conservatives and women (Rush does not understand women).  Money will be no object.  You are a great fundraiser.  You will get paid for your appearances.

Sarah is running for President.  She loves the microphone, the crowds, being the center of attention.  I am not joking: She is running…and not a foot race.

ACT II
Preparation

Palin will be invited by prominent Republicans throughout the country.  It will appear as though she is raising money, but in the next three and a half years Sarah will be creating her own political network.  She will go to each state to meet Republicans and sell the conservative viewpoint.  “Mittens” and “Huck” do not have her star power and with conservative backing, she will likely win the GOP nomination.

ACT III
Implementation

Storyline:  Girl plays hard to get, but succumbs to the rich boys’ advances.  “Oh gee, I tried to quit, but ‘the people’ just kept asking me out”.  Watch it happen.
(Written July 4, 2009)
Man of Man... Sure were a lot of bitter Republicants trolling around here last week... stomping their sour grapes to manufacture some more GEENOPEE WHINE!

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th! I know I did even if it did rain ALL day!

Where to start this wonderful Monday morning... Let's see...

Looks like the Wasilla Chillbilly has gone all... all... 'MAVERICKY' on us again!

Some barracuda - that con artist more closely resembles a bottom feeding opportunistic CARP! After all they are ‘fisherman’ dotcha know? I would like to believe that some coherent thought actually found it’s way into the airspace between her ears and she's FINALLY DECIDED that her children & husband are more important than her political posturing... but given her past track record... and her narcisstic personality disorder I'm not placing any $$$ on THAT!

Nope...my $$$ is either there's some sort of indictments coming her way in the near future (think the Wasilla double wide) or Ol' Fertile Myrtle or another one of her dysfunctional klan is knocked up again!

It's hysterical to watch the conservatives with a thought process (whew... there's an oxymoron ) throw her under the bus!  George Will said it best on this week:

'I've watched the press conference twice and read it once and STILL don't know what she said!

Only Klondike Barbie could say I'm NOT a quitter but yet I'm quitting on the people of Alaska in the same sentence!  Can you imagine if by some freak accident she actually did end up as the VP?  Whaaaa Whaaaa Whaaaa.... people are being mean to me!!! You reap what you sow there Sarah...

Go ahead RUN Sarah RUN away from your responsibilities that the citizens of Alaska elected you for.  They don't deserve anymore of your drama & BS - And should you EVER decide to RUN in 2012 - you will be EATEN alive by your OWN - hell they've already started...

Stick a FORK in her...she's done!

And how bout those tea parties!  Talk about a WASH OUT! I believe the official number here in a Chicago suburb was somewhere around 150!  WOW!  These idiots couldn't coordinate a 1 car funeral!  Nice try though!  Hahahhahaha

Keep on bagging babies... it's working out so well for you so far!

And Jawillie to answer your question on Friday (couldn't get thru)...what I love most about our country is:

My Freedoms & the Diversity!  I love my freedom to be able to come here & combat the fear, smear, and bold faced lies that we've been subjected to for far too long!  I love that woman in this country have the freedom of choice!  I love the fact that I no longer have to claim I'm Canadian when traveling abroad and can once again say I'm PROUD to be an American!  Didn’t want any shoes thrown at me like Bushie Boy! LOL!

I also love the diversity in the make up of this country... not only in it's citizens from near & far but our land as well... from the mountains to the valley's... cities BIG & small...  but what I love MOST about this country is that I'm HERE at this period in history to witness Barack Obama as OUR President!  He's the right man at the right time for the right job!
AP - Palin also cast herself as a victim and blasted the media, calling the response to her announcement "predictable" and out of touch.

"How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it's about country," the statement said. "And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make."

Palin's personal spokeswoman, Meghan Stapleton, confirmed to The Associated Press that the Facebook posting was written by the governor.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If the “calling” is 2012, there is not a single good and honorable reason to resign this early. If she were to run in 2010 to replace Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski then it would be reasonable.

My guess is that she:
1-wants to get her book deal off the ground.
2-hit the lecture circuit to build wealth.
3-campaign for other Republicans, building a strong network while keeping her brand in front of voters.
4-Build campaign funds via Sarah PAC.
The Wasilla Hillbilly is planning to run for president, that should be the new hit comedy show of the year.
Great, now we've replaced MJ with SP.  Ugh, my TV is off!

Hope all had a nice weekend.  I sure did.  Won some money off Tony Stewart and his fine driving!!

So First Readers:  Start Your Engines!!!
Palin obviously had enough of the attacks on her family. Liberal Loons go "She deserved it". Those are Loon that should frighten people, they have no soul. From Letterman attacking her 14 year old daughter, to Vanity Fair using the old as the hills "anonymous" GOP quotes, Palin had enough of all the attacks.

See liberals, there are more important things in life then politics, like family. With liberals it's all about power what ever the cost.
The citizens of the US just doesn't have enough of a tax burden. It's nice to see Obama is changing that.

Change you can believe in!
Anita, what do you mean "unemployment was expected to rise over 10%?"

Obama said it wouldn't go over 8% if the stmulus was passed.
  The funniest thing to watch this weekend were all the pundits explaining what this means, when none of us really know other than the Governor and her family.  I doubt she has future national aspirations.
  I suspect she's just had enough.  And one can hardly blame her.
By 'others' Palin is obviously referring to President Obama. But her analogy is faltse, (her pronunciation).
Obama did not resign his seat in the senate. While campaigning, he returned to Congress and voted many times.

Palin has no shame when twisting the truth.
"The questions on everyone’s mind: Does this mean she WON’T be running for president in 2012? Or WILL she be running?"

Don't we all want to know!

Where did Rick Warren spend his Saturday afternoon?
http://www.governmentalityblog.com/my_weblog/2009/07/evangelist-rick-warren-a-hit-at-muslim-conference.html
Stocks way down again at the open. It's that 'jobs' thing Obama made a priority in his administration. Barry appears confused though, we all thought he'd create jobs, not destroy them.

Where is Barry anyway?
I think everyone will view Palin's actions through their own personal glasses--her supporters will think it is fine and those of us who do not support her will call her a quitter and be critical.  I have no doubt that she can energize the Republican base and get them behind her.  I wonder whether she can pull any moderates to her--I suspect not but that may be wishful thinking.  I do think the other Republicans should just step back and let her run for 2012.  Obama will be re-elected and then the field can be wide open for 2016.
Repubs have accused we dems of fearing Palin from the moment she appeared on the scene last August. I’m ready to admit you were right. For all of Obama’s talents, awesome message, crowds, pyrotechnics, and charm offensive at the dem’s convention, that woman eclipsed it all, and galvanized McCain’s campaign single handedly at the Republican’s otherwise lame  convention! I thought to myself, ‘this is a testament to the power of inspiration Almighty G-D has given women ’. As in chess, McCain brought out his Queen, and gave we dems a case of cotton mouth. Thankfully, she opened hers with Gibson, and Couric unscripted. Afterward, my household relaxed, and gave our checkbook a much needed break from all the desperation donations to Obama’s campaign. Watching her interviews on a constant loop, we cringed with delight. The stock market crashed, and their chance at victory went with it. Americans said, ‘sorry, we ain’t the ones to put these two in charge of our economic recovery’. ‘CHANGE, AND HOPE’ sprang anew!
Given her antics this weekend in resigning her post as Governor,  the e-mails released exposing her dishonesty about Todd being a member of AIP, and all the ethics charges against her, I’m nervous again. In addition to being woefully uninformed, she’s far less stable, and genuine than was thought….even by repubs. But there are still a bunch of folks who won’t care. She’ll gripe about bloody politics, while seeking to gut Obama with the likes of her vicious ‘paling around’ attacks. She puts herself forward as a true believer in freedom, but seeks to oppress the media by breathing threats of litigation if they dare report on the charges of malfeasance she is suspected of.  Yet her base won’t own up to the hypocrisy.
I liked Bush 41 with his thousand points of light. I bristled at the Presidencies of Nixon, and Reagan, but didn’t worry much about the country. (I even learned to respect Ronnie and his patriot missiles during Desert Storm).
However, if Palin somehow ascends to the nomination, I will be afraid. As Al Gore has said,” elections matter”, and that would be too close indeed.
Nah, you can't tell at all how biased against Palin FR is.  Not at all, I tell ya.

Wow . . . somebody REALLY wants to keep those fat profits rolling in on the backs of sick folks, huh?

Funny how in these difficult economic times, the for profit health rationing industry is flush with cash  . . .money we send them for services they don't provide.

What a joke.
If I checked FR once over the weekend, I checked it a thousand times. Welcome back friends.
Hope everyone had a safe, happy Independence Day!  Now, back to the grind-which seems easier to take now that summer has (finally!) arrived in the northeast.

I had an interesting conversation with a dear friend who was at work in lower Manhattan during the photo-op fiasco.  (You remember-Air Force One, flying low by the Statue of Liberty).  She and her co-workers were evacuated-she worked on the 35th floor.  One of her pregnant collegues fell down some of the stairs-it was a disaster.  Well, she wrote the White House a scathing e-mail, lambasting the decision.  For a month, she heard nothing.  Then, she began to get 3 and 4 e-mails a day-all kinds of 'heads up' on political agenda, urging her to write or call her congressman/Senators, as well as the ever-popular 'send money'.  I guess no one actually READS the e-mails that come in  - they have no idea what is in them; just assume they are from supporters.  No wonder they are having trouble 'mobilizing' the millions they supposedly have on tap to support the agenda.

By the way, First Read-how many blood donors did they manage to get?

Congress in back in session-hold on to your wallet!
Fist bumps to Ron in Indiana and Feisty and Anita.  You two are always at the top of your game, I appreciate that.

How bout that Bad Chi complaining about some one took over his puny body?  haha!
Today's Seward's Folly Award goes to Alaska Governor (but not for long) Sarah Palin.

At the Republican National Convention, Governor Palin observed:

"In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those ... who use their careers to promote change."

Or not.

But really ... after watching her announcement -- several times -- I think that Paul Simon may have said it best ...

"The problem is all inside your head," she said to me
The answer is easy if you take it logically
I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free
There must be fifty ways to leave ....

You just slip out the back ....
Make a new plan ....
You don't need to be coy ....
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus ....
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key ....
and get yourself free ....
Sarah Palin.

Catnip for the media.

Professional victim.

No solutions for America.

Another distraction.

(a). Unemployment was expected to rise over 10%. We are still experiencing the spike from the recession. The recession started in 2007. Unemployment will level off, it's starting to already.

By who? Not Obama. Obama said with his stimulus bill it wouldn't go over 8%. Even Biden admitted he and Obama had 'misjudged' the problem. Makes you kind of wonder what else the Gruesome Twosome are misjudging.

You wacky liberals are just making stuff up now.
Palin resigned...

Just one more "job loss" for Obama

Obamagedon's Depression
Palin may or may not be the answer, but she's a better answer then this crew we currently have in the White House.
Sarah Palin was stabbed in the back by the McCain camp. In no way was she prepared or qualified to be VP. Shame on McCain for putting her through this. Radical right wingers are not ever going to make it in this country again to the presidential level. Their supporters consist of racist, uneducated voters. The GOP needs to go moderate.
Of course all the feisty, bedhead, liberals have to start all the name calling and are rabid against Palin.  The same ones that complained that she wasn't doing her job are now incensed that she quit because she couldn't properly do her job.  Nothing will ever make these hypocrites happy.
Nope...my $$$ is either there's some sort of indictments coming her way in the near future (think the Wasilla double wide) or Ol' Fertile Myrtle or another one of her dysfunctional klan is knocked up again!

----------------------------------------------------

She didn't mention anything of having to quit to take care of her special needs child.  How is she able to take care of this child jetting around the country?  This is not an easy task for a snow mobiling husband to do on his own.

I use to volunteer helping special needs adults, and that was no easy task...rewarding but not easy.  I think Mr. Mom better hire some help.
Dear Mika from Morning Joe-ke:

Your need for validation from Joe is hard to watch.

Your mental weakness has become a playground for Joe's delusions to be parroted.

I'm starting to wonder if you even know what you really believe.
Obama, where are the jobs????  You promised!!!  I need one NOW.
What a wonderful Monday as we have Sinner Sarah to kick around this fine Monday morning.  If she thought that she could bury her resignation story with a Friday holiday revelation then she was wrong as usual.  If any of her braindead supporters think she's got a chance running in 2012 for president then think again beause we can never trust her to stay in office when the going gets tough.  When the going got tough she cut and ran from her duties by abandoning her post because she couldn't take the liberal free media exposing her for the fraud she is.

"Why hasn't anyone in the media had the courage to draw the line between the effects of the Smoot-Hawley Act of 1930 and the New Cap and Trade Bill working its way to the oval office?  They are very similar bills, and I don't know why anyone would think they wouldn't yield like results."
Jonathan Flint, mi

Hey Jonathan - The reason the media has yet to draw a comparison between the Smoot Hawley Act and the new Cap and Trade bill is that they are not similar.  The Smoot Hawley Act of 1930 was passed by the repugnant ones under repugnant one president Herbert Hoover (he who caused the Great Depression) to entrench trade protectionism favored by the repugnant ones.  In trying to aid the American farmer they ended up nearly killing international trade and harming our farmers.

The new Cap and Trade bill doesn't deal with international trade so no similarity there.  Actually the new Cap and Trade bill is a compromise from what us Liberals want, namely a Cap on the energy industry pollution mainly from coal.  The Liberals allowed your Bushwhacker to tack on the Trade portion which is merely a capitalistic scam to allow the rich and greedy to scam us out of our money.  By allowing companies to trade pollution credits on an open market the freemarket freeloaders are trading us all into higher energy prices as hedge funds will jack up the prices of those pollution credits the same way they've jacked up the price of oil.  The false cries of this Cap and Trade bill "taxing" us is another great right lie as the government won't be cashing in on the profits, it's the rich and greedy hedge funds who will profit at our expense as they did with oil last year.

So blame the new higher energy prices on your freemarket freeloader pals, not on Obama and us Liberals.  Your tenuous grasp of history shows me that you did no research into this false comparison because if you had you would never have made such a nonsensical comparison.  It sounds more like you got your mistaken idea from fox and freaks or the sludge report and not from original thinking.

Think Before You Speak!
Give her credit but no cash prize...
If you're going to quote classic rock lyrics you'd do well to get them right. “There's something happenin' HERE; what it is ain't exactly clear.”

Fail.

Yeah he voted "present."

Bottom line...

SARAH PALIN QUIT!!!!
President Obama is so worried about appearing "meddlesome" if he overturns 'don't ask, don't tell', which he has the attority to do,-"amd which he promised to do"--isn't he also worried it would look meddlesome to go to Russia? or Iran?

*** Palin-palooza:

This woman is amazing. She took advantage of the holiday wwekend to give America it's Independence and freedom from her stupidity. I do think that there is more to come. We haven't heard the last of her...God help us.

*** Not Obama or Nixon:
What if she had been elected Vice President? Under pressure, think she would have resigned? I think so. All talk and no substance. She did have the nerve to run, even to the tune of allowing her personal family affairs be place on center stage for the world to scrutinize.

The waoman has no class. What purpose it it serve? She made a bad decision. Her family should come first not her personal ambitions. I still think that she will make attempts to resurface as b better "Sarah Palin", even under the poor conditions of her departure as Alaska's Governor.

She left Alaska hanging in the lurch, shed neglected her jobs duties and chances are they are in serious troble due to her lack of Governing skills...sounds like Bush with out the benefit of resigning doesn't it?
A CBS piece detailing several leaked emails in which she asked the McCain campaign to lie about Todd Palin's 7-year membership in a secessionist party. McCain strategist Steve Schmidt responded to her request saying that Todd was a member, and it was a secessionist party and he wasn't going to create an issue in the media if it didn't exist already, nor would he lie for her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sarah Palin’s Greatest Hits… Volume I…
Oh I can see the 2012 campaign ads now… to all you right wing whack jobs… try to defend THIS?  Or is Steve Schmidt lying as well… you can bend & twist it anyway you want but FACTS are FACTS!
Buchanan was lamenting about the beating Palin's kids were taking in the media as an excuse for Palin. However, she was the one that dragged her pregnant child before the world! It was her responsibilty to protect her kids. She had a choice between their well being, and her own ambition. The fact that her children suffered humilation is her, and Todd's fault.
*waves to Anita from Birmingham*
Hello fellow Birmingham-Southern alum . . . small world after all, huh? :)
Wanna be my running mate in 2016? lol
Of course none of this is Obama's fault
He is the only man in the world that...
Can take a dump in a toilet and blame someone else for the turd.
Bush = Slight Recession
Obama = Great Depression Again
and his words of encouragement are like the message to the passangers of the Titanic.
"we dont appear to be sinking as fast as before"
She can see the "gold" in them there hills..
but they're only full of  gas...
Her words will be her down fall...and her deeds will fill in the cracks...
Look at them now..Sanford sanity being questioned,and believe me there is lots of reports to back those claims.And Faillin has called it quits,the going got a little to tough for the pit hockey mommy,so she did the best she could,she quit so she could start her makeover,much like Nixon did,she will be all over fox day time shows,fox talk shows in the afternoon,Fox night shows will be her new home.Freeing herself to do speeches at a 100 g's a pop,one a week should should keep her styling.And the PAC's are bout to begin a full court press to fill the pockets of the Bristol Barbie.So another Republican who sold there soul to the mighty green back,simple as Saraha.
$1.4M a day for health care lobbying? That's over $1B in just two years. Maybe the key to cutting health care costs is to eliminate the lobbyists!
I find it interesting that the Republicans who screeched that President Obama wasn't talking tough enough about the suppression of Iranian democracy are mysteriously silent about the coup in Honduras. Why hasn't BombBomb McCain proclaimed "we are all Hondurans now"?
It seems that to Republicans, "democracy" means as much as the "sanctity of marriage" means to Republicans Mark Sanford and Sen. Ensign: Nothing. Rule by rightwing thugs is just fine with them, whether it comes by way of a coup d'etat or by Surpreme Court edict.
In all the talk about Palin, it's always about HER
What about the people of Alaska ?
They voted for Palin
They expected her to be Governor
Now, that being Governor isn't FUN for Palin she Quits
Palin also quit her other statewide job as Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Commission
It's all about Palin, NOT ALASKA
The Republican Party is revealing itself as a bunch of 'empty suits'
That one paragraph title should read "To Russia With Love" as President Obama tries to undo the damage done by the master of arrogance and ignorance, War Criminal Bush.  So good to hear Putin's Puppet Medvedev sounding conciliatory and willing to engage in meaningful talks about nuclear arms reduction, something we didn't hear the past 8 years.  It will be good to have Russia as an ally instead of as a reborn Cold War enemy.
No wonder health care costs have gone through the roof when they waste so much money hiring those disgusting lobbyists to bribe politicians to allow the freemarket freeloaders to rip us all off.  If Shakespeare were alive today he'd have penned the line "kill all the lobbysists".  I am so glad that President Obama is not one of those politicians bought out by the medical industry's lobbysists, like the whole evil elephant party is.
I am so laughing that the Wasilla Hillbilly is passing the buck before her incompetent term is finished.  What a great job the free liberal media has done exposing this walking talking ethics disaster for the fraud she always was.  I'll bet she decided to cut and run because there are far worse problems out there we don't know about yet.  With oil prices so low I'll bet Alaska's budget is going to look really bad so she dumped the problem she caused on her next in line.  Quitter Palin will never be able to live down her quitter label and she's destroyed her chances at national public office.  Probably going to get an offer to join the televised inane asylum known as fox and freaks.
Just Go Away and Stay Away Wasilla Hillbilly!
The Thriller in Wasilla showed the rest of the World, just who this is about.Sarah Palin in no uncertain term stole Kim Jong Ills thunder, by announcing her resignation. The residents of Wasilla should turn thier attention west to the skies(lol) as Ill wont take kindly to Sarah's announcement.
Who benefits from this,Everyone who thought (correctly) that she was Overrated as a Govenor to begin with. Anyone can govern with plenty of $$ for thier state's population, but with everyone having to tighten thier belts, Sarah tuck's tail & Run's away.
Levi's impending tell all book on the Wasilla Gorilla's family escapades will generate plenty of $$ for Levi's family also.
Real American's can only Hope that the GOP will be Insane enough to bring this Clown (Palin) of a Politician as thier standard bearer for 2012 (or any following year for that matter)! The best thing the GOP can do with this opportunity is Kick her to the Curb ! They already have enough of a Credibility problem to deal with.
Something Big is about to come out of Alaska, & it won't be Positive for Sarah !
YOU BETCHA !
Thank God Palin is not our Vice President..........How would she have handled the pressure!  It's very scary that Mccain/republicans would put Americans in the hands of this nit wit just to win the presidency.  Very frightening!
