Unsurprisingly, many of you have trouble with reading comprehension. There's those tax dollars for teacher's unions for ya'.

I said that I am proud to be an American no matter who is president. I was proud when Bush adopted his anti-terror policies and I am still proud while Obama acknowledges Bush was right and continues most of those policies. When Carter did or said things I disagreed with, I was angry and ticked...but NEVER ashamed to be American. Same goes for Reagan. The blessing of being a citizen of this country is unconditional as far as I'm concerned. Rail all you want against whoever is in charge or whoever scares you. Call him or her every name in the book. But only those with no backbone would be ashamed to call themselves American...here or abroad.


What they say may be right. Liberals have deep-seated unresolved issues involving authority figures and fitting in. I'll be th there were many of you here who were ashamed of your own fathers at some point. Glad to stir up the nest a little though.

By the way...I've been looking at the archives. Do any of you have jobs?

Oh the spin.  Sad thing is MSNBC has no shame.  Totally bias story.  I am not a Palin fan, but I find it appalling that she endures these attacks while OBama got none of it.  He is least qualified to be president than any previous president we have and it is really starting to show.  All he has ever done is organized and ran for a political office.  And, he certainly he good at doing that.  He, more than anyone, should be taking a stand on the smear of Palin's children.  You look at how he disgustingly paraded his children around during the election and even now.  What is even more disturbing is the way he spends government money on such nonsense as flying to New York for a date.  I suppose he thinks the taxpayers deserve to pay for his personal perks of being president.  I don't remember a president that has traveled this much in the first six months of office.  I guess this is part of his spend spend spend program to create jobs. Washington is a total mess and as far as I am concerned the whole lot of them needs to be kicked out and start over from scratch.  Enough of both parties.

Please provide some PROOF of how/when the President paraded is children around during the campaign – other than the interview with either Access/Extra (can’t remember which) unlike Palin’s kids HIS were in SCHOOL?  So dear… do tell how he exploited his children? President Obama also clearly stated that ALL children were off limits during the campaign.  It’s not our PROBLEM that Sarah didn’t get the memo and continued to pimp hers out!

Suppose it was fine when Georgie boy spent the first 3 months of his Presidency on vacation.. you know clearing brush down on the ranch? And coming from the family values party I find it extremely hypocritical that he took his wife on a date… jealous much?

What was the bribe money to get that one rep from Ohio to vote yes on this bill? $3.5 billion to her district? And the bill passed by 2 votes. Quite the mandate for Obama and the Democrats. Nice to see that our money is being spent wisely.

Smoot-Hawley Act of 1930 v. Cap and Trade (American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009)
I don’t see the comparison that you suggest. Smoot-Hawley was pure protectionism and aimed at countries we traded with. The Cap and Trade Bill targets all producers, suppliers, users of energy and energy consuming products. Everyone has the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint. If we do the necessary things to reduce our usage the savings should cover the cost increase. We have plenty of time to make changes since the first reduction goal is 6% (2012) and there after 9.5% (2014), 13% (2016), 16.5% (2018) and 20% (2020-2039). [Increments of 3.5% every 2 years]
The US Treasury is to issue $7.5 Billion in bonds to cover the initial startup costs.
The question is: Who will purchase the bonds? Personally, I don’t understand the bill well enough (yet) to make that investment.
There is a huge number of $$ allocated for job losses (unemployment [36 months], re-training, job search, etc.) in the current energy producing sectors.
The question I have is: If by 2020 most of the ‘baby boomers’ are retired unemployment should not be a big issue, so why all the money?
According to the census bureau there is some concern if there will be enough labor available to support the demand beyond 2020. Of course we will probably have a population jump of 20 million by then after we give citizenship to all the illegal’s.

Once again, America - get out your wallets and bend over for Obama.

Haha...We'll see if these same congressmen/women vote for the bill after their concessions are stripped from the bill in the Senate. The bill is terrible, a jobs killer, and the people don't want it.
