Obama names Peace Corps head

From NBC's Chuck Todd and Domenico Montanaro
The White House announced his nominee for director of the Peace Corps -- Aaron Williams, who according to the White House is "a Vice President for International Business Development with RTI International" and former U.S. Agency for International Development official.

Here's a question: Does this remove plan B for Chris Dodd? (Not to mention Republican former Rep. Chris Shays, who'd said he was interested in the job, after he lost his re-election fight.)

Good that President Obama is getting more good people into position.  I'm sure he's picked a winner for heading the Peace Corps.  I'm sure that Bachmann Moron Overdrive will start her incessant whining about this being some kind of reeducation nonsense.

The repugnant ones are sure being a bunch of jerks trying to trick Sonia Sotomayor into some gotcha moment.  She's been good at answering the questions put to her and soon we'll be seeing her seated on the Supreme Court bench.

In Obama We Trust!
Say hello to your little friend & fearless leader of the GEENOPEE… Michael Steele…

Yes, that's right. To lure African-Americans into the GOP, Steele is offering "fried chicken and potato salad."

What no WATERMELON??? My GAWD to can’t make this STUFF UP!  LOL
The Peace Corp. is a failed entity and is nothing but a cash cow for non-profits at the expense of tax payers...it has not changed the third world, but, instead, has enabled troubled spots like in Africa from picking themselves up from their own boot straps and fixing the underlying problems...all that Peace Corp. does is put a Welfare like bandaid on these peoples' problems. End it already!
I trend to agree with Pat that the Peace Corp along with almost all efforts at aid to Africa and other 3rd world venues, have not helped them solve their problems.

President Obama's Accra speech noted that Africans must hold their governments accountable as much aid seems to disappear into the hands and accounts of those in power. At the same time, we must offer aid which is empowering not dependency producing.

I hope the President's unique background, accomplishments, and vision help point African nations to a brighter future, but they must take responsibility for themselves in the end as must we all.
His new world apologizer in chief soon to be pushed to the side when BoBo names his Peace Corp Czar. One more job created. Way to go BoBo!
