2009/2010: Obama stumping for Corzine

CongressDaily’s McPike notes all the Republicans running for rematches in 2010.

"The shape of the 2010 battleground remains largely in flux 17 months away from Election Day, but House Democrats continued to reap the benefits of their majority status by posting strong second-quarter fundraising numbers this week," Roll Call writes. "In 40 targeted districts featuring incumbents, newly-filed fundraising reports showed that 10 of 30 Democrats had raised $300,000 or more, and three more incumbents falling just short of that mark."

Video: For the first time since taking office, President Obama hit the campaign trail for Gov. John Corzine in New Jersey, while Vice President Biden did the same in Virginia for their Democratic nominee, Creigh Deeds. Are Obama and Biden fighting for their party or really just campaigning for themselves on the economy and health care? Politico’s Jonathan Martin and NBC’s Chuck Todd debate.

DELAWARE: Rep. Mike Castle, who voted for the Democrats' energy bill, says he wasn't whipped by GOP House leadership; Republicans dispute that. The Hill sees it as the "latest indication that Castle, who is mulling a Senate bid, is unlikely to run for a 10th term in the lower chamber."

NEW JERSEY: President Obama made his first appearance on the campaign trail since he won the presidency. Stumping with Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine yesterday, Obama said, “I want you to know I’m proud to stand with a man who wakes up every day thinking of your future and the future of Jersey.” Corzine, trying to link his own beleaguered campaign to Obama’s presidency, noted, “Now, with a partner in the White House, there is no limit to what we can accomplish.” But Monmouth University polling director Patrick Murray said Obama’s appearance “would have no effect on [Jerseyans’] vote.” Some, in fact, came only to hear Obama. Chris Monroe of Roselle said, “This is a good gimmick to get us to listen to Corzine.” Some voters, like Sarah Tofighbakash, see Corzine as the lesser of two evils. “I’m iffy on Corzine, but I find Christie pretty repulsive,” she said.

A new video from Republican candidate Chris Christie’s campaign, “I voted for Obama,” “highlights New Jerseyans from around the state who supported President Obama in 2008 and who will be voting for Chris Christie for Governor in 2009.”

VIRGINIA: Vice President Joe Biden made a stop at a private home in support of gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds last night. “The visit to Virginia signals a commitment by both the White House and Deeds campaign to weave their fortunes together, with Deeds banking on the mellowing but still strong popularity of Barack Obama.”

Corzine will win because Nj is doing better than most states. I live there and I know. We have higer taxes BUT, you see them @ work all the time. Schools are better, Police are very active and visible and the higways are ALWAYS being fixed or improved.
Obama: "I want you to know I’m proud to stand with a man [Corzine] who wakes up every day thinking of your future and the future of Jersey."

Exactly true. Every day Corzine wakes up and wonders "How can fool them today?"

We've figured out who the fool is Jon. It's you.
FIR: “The visit to Virginia signals a commitment by both the White House and Deeds campaign to weave their fortunes together, with Deeds banking on the mellowing but still strong popularity of Barack Obama.”

Looks like Deeds is going to lose.
It's good to see Democratic fundraising is staying strong so we can keep the dopes of nope who wrecked our secular democracy and economy in the minority for a long time to come.

Preident Obama has remembered Candidate Obama as he looked good on the stump for Corzine.  Barack also rocked the NAACP house last night with another fiery speech that was very inspiring.  About time that Barack remembers the Candidate Obama we voted for.  I'm glad that he has stopped the conservative ho hum persona and has remembered his candidate persona that won the last election.  He needs to keep up getting after the repugnant ones more forcefully.

In Obama We Trust!
The crowd at the Obama Corzine rally was 17,000, in a venue that holds 7500.  It was moved there due to 'unatticipated demand'-which is a nice way of saying that the campaign could not fill the 41,500 seats at Rutgers stadium.

We in New Jersey are going to dump Corzine in '09. It's fair for media pundits to blame it on Corzine, who has been an absolutely wretched governor.

Who are you going to blame when Deeds loses in Virginia?  He's trailing by 6 to 12 points in every poll; Obama's approval in that state is below 50%, to boot.

Can we say that the change people got wasnot what they voted for?

yes, we can.
Corzine is done.
Obie's numbers fall.
Obie just wants to hurry stuff through like the stimulus bill.
Make sure you don't vote for any of the clowns that voted for the STIM. They didn't read it.
Make sure you don't vote for anyone who votes FOR Obie's health care bill. It's mentally challenged.
Put Pelosi in jail. That lying B will dump America to try to cover her lies.
Ohio unemployment now at 11.1%. Thank you, Obie.
Looks like fat old Al Gore is gonna get rich off his global warming scheme.
India and China aren't in the mood to cut back any emissions. Obie's yapping didn't work. Losing face?
North Korea and Iran are not interested in playing Obie's little game. They are laughing at him.
Hey Obie. Did you ever read the book the Pope gave you? The one about stem cell research.
Hillary's pissed at you, Obie.
Biden is managing but his mental state in compromised. We all see that on a daily basis.
Obie will wreck this country to get his way, wrong or right. All of you are watching it happen NOW.
ACORN has been given millions to strong-arm other facilities, through tax dollars. Thanks, Obie.
Dylan is on The Neverending Tour.
Obie is on The Neverending American Apology Tour.
Maureen Dowd is fixated on Palin. Another hateful lib working for a dead in the road news rag.
I see that soldier who challenged Obie's birth certificate was sent packing. Thanks, Obie.
Obie says we're not a nation of Christians. Funny, we were when the whole thing started 233 years ago.
Obie copies Bush policy and then disses the ex prez.
Obie rolls his own dice and loses the American Dream. Just throws it away, including our children's future.

It is time to impeach our president and speaker of the house.

It's time the Tea Parties were reported on network TV. 37,000 in Dallas again and more and more everywhere but it doesn't make the news, except on Fox. Revenue will be cut for ABC, NBC and CBS. Promises aren't made to be broken unless you're a Dem leader  ... and then you won't be for long.

President Obama has had a leash on Congress and the Senate. They are finall starting to wake up  and smell the backfire coming from individuals and businesses that will no longer support them. The people have always been slow to react and that's why Obie wants to rush his irrational, America killing policies through a group of dunderheads in congress and the senate that he has no respect for anyway.

The fools on the hill better stand up to the mouse that thinks he's king.
