House Web site slow

Posted: Thursday, August 13, 2009 4:06 PM by Domenico Montanaro
Filed Under: ,

From NBC's Mike Viqueira
Information technology authorities in the U.S. House have sent an e-mail to staffers advising that the house.gov site may be slow due to an "increased volume of vistors on member public Web sites."

The communication offers no further specifics.

Probably just people looking for cheese-cake photo's of Nancy Pelosi.
See the protests at the town halls Democrats? Wait until you get back to Washington. They'll be on the Capital steps next. Make attendance of Obama's inauguration look like the get together they had for little Hams bar mitzvah party.
Well, whats happening? Are the idiots fluiding the House with e-mails that won't be answered? I wouldn't be surprised if they were.

Pelosi needs to get more bandwidth installed up at the Capital. Gonna need it for the millions of e-mails she's going to get over the next few weeks. Maybe she can then forward them over to 1600 Pennsylvania at flag@whitehouse-gov, you know, so Gibbs and the boys can clear up any misconceptions people might have about health care reform.

Ya gotta give me little lovin' ... give me little   lovin' ... OOOh, if ya want our love to last."

=============

We need to retain our precious bodily fluids!
Anita-it's flooding, not fluiding.

It's probably people downloading the health care bill, so that they have their questions ready for their congressional representatives.

Here's a clue-they time you out after five minutes, so you have to reload the damn thing.  It is frustrating, to say the least, and leads me to believe that they don't want voters to read it, anymore than congress gets a chance to read it.

Yeah, that's what their doing, their "fluiding" the House.

Then you wonder why people think you're one of the biggest nutbags out there.
"The first one now will later be last."

"All things must pass."

So don't worry about the radical prez in our mitts.
He may lie, spy and crawl on his belly like a reptile ... but he'll be out of the mix soon enough.

I don't see an Angel of Mercy on his shoulder but I do see the Devil in his pocket.
When we going to get a federal holiday commermerating Barck Obam's election? We need a nother day off form work!
Do your eyes itch and burn. Seeing "floaters?"

Not to worry. You've been watching too much Obama.

Cure. Just turn the set off.

HOUSE WEB SITE SLOW
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kinda like here at FR these days... it's okay Mark, Domenico & Ali you know we love you anyway....
Nacy Pelosi's pic would be used for target practice instead of a pin-up.
You must be talking about that lovely conservative brainchild Sarah Palin.
Better than Barack. So much better.
It's so hard to look at a pathological liar.
Yes, how dare people email their elected representatives.  I can understand criticizing the rowdy town hall meetings, but calling someone an idiot for emailing the person elected to represent them in D.C.?  What an odd definition of "democracy" you have there, Anita.
IS THE FR CREW RUNNING THE WH WEBSITE NOW TOO?
Well, whats happening? Are the idiots fluiding the House with e-mails that won't be answered? I wouldn't be surprised if they were.
All of mine to my rep and to my two Senators are answered all the time. Most responses I get are by snail-mail with personal signatures from either my rep or Senators. It pays if you are polite, get to the point, and that you are respectful.
Reading some of Anita's posts, I imagine she doesn't get responses, but instead gets an order of protection to have her keep away from any pols she writes.
Ron, IN.  Grassley will be hard to beat because as you said, he's one of those who has been elected year after year.  He owns a farm and many Iowa farmers tend to vote republican which puzzles me since it's the democrats who do more for them.  In the past, the democrat running against him has not been a viable candidate.  This is the first time that I've seen negative editorials about him so there might be hope.  That and the fact that Iowans don't like to appear as "hayseeds" and some of his remarks and twitters are straight out of a hayseed magazine.  Rachel had a man named Krause on last night and I was impressed; the one in last night's paper was a former state senator named Fiegan.  No one ever thought Jim Leach was beatable either but he lost in 2006 after many years.  Leach was a more moderate republican who voted against the Iraq war and often sided with democrats on issues. Although there are many conservatives counties in Iowa particularly the northwest and southwest, it has steadily become more progressive.  There is hope especially if the democrats get a solid, quality candidate.
Just a note to those who think the folks protesting at the Town Halls support the GOP.
Think again.  They don't.  They support Lyndon LaRouche and Ron Paul.  If that is the direction you want for this Country, fine.  But, at the  very least, be aware of what you are seeking.  One of the protesters (who were a vocal minority at the Town Hall I attended) told me the problem is fluoride and dentists.  Apparently, the fluoride makes us all dim witted and easily "sheeped" and dentists are spreading this.
If that is the reality you see, fine.  But, what I see from these folks is though they are decent, they also want to bring the entire house down on all of our heads to protect "us" from a nebulous "them" that was created by George H. W. Bush (yes, you read that correctly) when he set up the "New World Order."  For myself, I could not disagree with that vocal minority more.  But, if that is the direction, you want for our Country, that is your right as an American citizen....
though, for how long you will have any rights, should that vocal minority succeed since I'm told (by a vocal protester) that what he wants is all science, colleges, the media, banks, Wall Street, unions and even insurance companies "stopped", it won't be your right anymore.
The GOP is truly barking up the wrong tree on this one-- that is, unless, they want to see an end to all progress, productivity and development.  Who knows?  Perhaps that is what they want.  Who can tell anymore?  I haven't heard a rational argument from most of our GOP elected officials in weeks now.
But, then maybe the protesters at the town hall in my area were atypical, but somehow I rather doubt that.
There could be dirty tricks of flooding the web site to keep real people with real messages from getting their point to their representatives. I wouldn't put it past the so called protesters (teabaggers). Anything to disrupt the normal course of democracy in action is fine with them. They'll do it.
Then it could also be that the website is flooded with people asking Congress to vote FOR the healthcare bill. I have sent at least one a day demanding my reps vote for it with public option and tort reform. I believe all 3 will do so.
Alabama Nut In The Area item of the day:
"Well, whats happening? Are the idiots fluiding the House with e-mails that won't be answered? I wouldn't be surprised if they were."
At least "fluiding" is remotely related to liquid, though my dictionary seems to indicate that fluiding is not actually a word.  One has to admire Alabama Nut In The Area's fluidity with language, however.  The prose always represents a fluid situation.
On another note, is Alabama Nut In The Area not surprised if the e-mails ARE answered, or not surprised that idiots are "fluiding" the House with e-mails?
I'm sorry, I'm a racist and I just can't help responding to insults.
As far as that slow House website, Maybe Rick, KY sent in a s l o w l y  t y p e d  e - m a i l.
Which reminds me, Rick.  I'll settle for a 95% correctly typed message at regular speed.  It's the deciphering that really slows things down.
Everyone in this country who is opposed to what the Democrats and the President are shoveling, need to go to Washington when the Congressional recess is over and protest at the Capital, the White House and everywhere else the gook-for-nothing politicians hang out, after that, they ought to run the rat bastards out of Washington.
We already have numerous government programs (Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid) that have been mismanaged for years and will soon run out of money and now they want to add one more mismanaged program to the list - I don't think so.
Everyone in this country who wants/need health insurance, should have access to affordable health insurance, but the hurry up and rush to get something/anything passed just so that Obama and the Democrats can make history (because that's what this is all about), is not the way to go.
This country collects more than enough money in taxes to provide everyone with affordable healthcare, to make sure that no one goes hungry and no one is homeless (least of all our vets), but because the politicians in Washington (everyone of them) are power/money hungry, they take all that tax money and piss it away and use it to make deals that allow them to line their own pockets.
Enough is enough!
It's time for the government of this country to start practicing what they've been preaching to the American people for the past year and STOP SPENDING MONEY THAT THE COUNTRY DOESN'T HAVE, STOP BORROWING MONEY FROM CHINA, AND STOP WAISTING TAX PAYER MONEY ON USELESS PROGRAMS.
Our nation is one of the richest and most wasteful nations on this planet.  There are plenty of men and women in this country who, just based on their ability to run a household, could run this country better than the greedy rat bastards in Washington.
Its most likely related to the white house sending out unsolicited emails regarding obamacare.  Of course, there will be no explanation.  I wouldn't want to talk about asking citizens to report and spy on their fellow citizens either
