So Wyden-Bennett's going nowhere, but the Club for Growth is slapping Utah Sen. Bob Bennett for thinking it. Well, trying it.

Roll Call: "Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) is taking fire from the Club for Growth in a new television ad and letter-writing campaign for his efforts to push the Healthy Americans Act... The ad, which is launching Tuesday in Utah, is part of the club’s $1.2 million campaign to 'highlight the dangers of government-run health care,' according to a release from the anti-tax group. 'Senator Bennett’s bill is a health care nightmare,' said Club for Growth President Chris Chocola. 'Rather than lowering the cost of care by increasing competition, it turns control of our health insurance system over to the government.'"

ha, ha, ha, ha!
Differences between OMB and the White House:

"One reason for the difference: The CBO projection is based on an assumption that all the tax cuts put into place in the administration of former President George W. Bush will expire on schedule by 2011 as dictated by current law. President Barack Obama's budget baseline, however, hews to his proposal to keep the tax cuts in place for families earning less than $250,000 a year."

WTF? I thought the Bush tax cuts were only for the rich.

Wait a minute, Club for Growth is a Republican lobbying group!? Can they do that? I only thought Democrats could have groups like Moveon, SIEU, AFL-CIO, Center for American Progress, etc., etc., etc.

---yeah  thats the ticket to fix all of the worlds problems
I love all you geniuses saying 9/11 was Bush's fault because he recieved a memo reading; "Al Queada determined to strike in U.S.". Thats like recieving a memo that says "college students determined to get drunk this weekend."

And to you all claiming that the American government that protected you in the War On Terror are no better than nazi or japanese war criminals and should be prosecuted: remeber...in order for the Tojos and the Goerings to be prosecuted, they had to LOSE the war first. Only the winner gets to prosecute the other side for crimes and from what I read from many of you here, that would be a perfectly acceptable outcome in your eyes since your hatred for the previous administration overrides your love of America, democracy and Western Civilization.
Too much Obama on the telly.

Over-exposed. People are tired of looking at him.

Poll numbers below 50%. Losing media favor.

Who'da thought?

Chris Chocola? Does he own or drink Chocola?

Repubs revved up for 2010.

Dems going nuclear? May not have the votes.

The Club for Growth is funded by those who know that there is a lot of money to be made from selling health care insurance to the healthy and denying coverage to the sick.

Bottomline for conservatives is "keep your hands off my millions" and don't even think about changing the system to help the sick.
Gingerbread Mamma, Jupiter, Fl:  I too wish to thank you for your kind words.  Here's the deal.  I'll keep writing as long as folks like yourself enjoy reading. There are a lot of great people who read and post on this website.  You keep posting as well.

The Club for Growth hates Mainstream America and will only shrink our economy.  We need to end the private health care nightmare by making big medical and big insurance honest and the only way to do that is a strong public option.  We need to regulate big insurance far tougher, as well as looking into how big medical is ripping us all off as their corporate masters take home way too much compensation.

Pass Health Care Reform with the Public Option!
I appreciated Arianna Huffington's article today. I guess she put into words exactly what I've been feeling lately about President Obama's approach towards health care reform. I don't particularly want the president to behave like a bully, but I would like him to tell the GOP to take a hike and just concentrate on working closely with his own party, especially the Blue Dogs, who are losing the respect of the entire country because of their insistence that there be no PO.

President Obama said continually during his campaign that the change starts with us, not in DC. We heard him loud and clear. We get it.

Does he?

I don't think having a president from a new generation is sitting well with a lot of legislatures up on the Hill. A president whose background is so different from theirs.

They continue to go on tv and dictate how his Administration should be run. It's kind of comical, considering the last 8 years.

I wish for the day when he would ignore the GOP  until they decide to bring something concrete to the table. Something that will help their constituents, instead of the corporations.

And the Trial Lawyers- the second largest PAC contributor to the DNC, the multi-millionaire ambulance chasing personal injury doctor suing lawyers told Obama the same thing!
That is why there is no tort reform or malpractice liability caps in Obama's Health Care "Reform".

So I guess it balances out the universe.
Eric, as usual you have the sensible comment. Keep it up.
