Kennedy to be buried at Arlington

From NBC's Courtney Kube
A U.S. defense official confirms that the late Ted Kennedy will be buried at Arlington Cemetery -- date and time still TBD.

The official expects he will be buried at the John F. Kennedy gravesite, but that is also still TBD.

Any sitting or former senator is eligible for burial at Arlington Cemetery, but Kennedy's military service alone does not qualify him for burial there since he did not retire from the Armed Forces. His military service alone only qualifies him to be cremated and inurned at the Columbarium at Arlington.

Kennedy served as a Private First Class in the Army, serving from June 25, 1951 to March 27, 1953. He was honorably discharged.

It's easy to understand why so many Americans are leaving the GOP, the hatred, rasism and uninformed/uneducated comments made by the right-wingnuts is absolutely horrible.

Sen. Ted Kennedy was a remarkable man, and as VP Biden stated, 'Teddy' thought about others first, not himself. I doubt if there is one among us who hasn't done something we wish we hadn't done, but how many of us spend our lives making up for the wrong we did?  Ted Kennedy spent his life helping others, he paved the way for many American's to live the American dream.

President Obama is also living his life to make the lives of working class Americans better, to allow everyone a chance at the American dream.

Now is the time to stand up and support health care for everyone.  We need to support our President and pass health care legislation, with the public plan, to honor 'Teddy', it's time all Americans have the option of affordable health care.

God Speed Sen. Kennedy, you will be missed.

Buried at Arlington, former plantation of Robert E. Lee is an honor bestowed on America's finest. Certainly Senator Ted Kennedy was one of our finest citizens. He was human and not afraid to be human. He made mistakes and he triuphed in his battle for the middle class. He could have only supported other wealthy people but he chose, instead, to support the rest of us. Thank you Sentator Kennedy and may God keep you near him.
Politics must be set aside today. Kennedy was an American icon and must be honored respectfully.

Thank you Senator Edward M. Kennedy for all of your political service to our nation. Your values, and dreams for our nation were true to the heart. It must now be our goal as a naion. To pass the health care reform that you were thinking of throughout your political life. God bless.
Great men and women have one thing in common, "They're not perfect."  Ted Kennedy was a great man.  He did great things for a great many with great compassion.  Let's remember him for his greatness and love him for his humanity.
I hope he's able to be buried near his brothers.  A final family reunion.
May Ted Kennedy Rest In Peace an Icon is gone
