Was Joe Wilson's speaking out when Obama was speaking the first time this has ever happened?

Is Charlie Rangel really responsible for the tax situation we are hearing about?

It really is amazing what people focus on with HCR. The thing I find so upsetting about the shouting match and the screaming of "liar, socialist, communist, and fascist" over illegal immigrants and death panels is the implication that President Obama is standing up in front of the nation, saying these things aren't true and there is clearly language in HR3200 that people believe does prevent these things from happening. That doesn't make you a liar! It means that you have a difference in opinion as to how to approach these protections.

If the republicans aren't happy with the language, they could come to the table, offer some changes, and offer to VOTE for the bill for these changes.

From where I sit, it really appears that the republicans are all together in not voting for this bill unless it ONLY contains republican ideas. What happened to compromise? Which party is it that is in the majority?

President Obama gave up the public option on Wednesday. And he offered to take steps to deal with tort reform. So why is it that even with these two concessions, republicans won't vote for the bill? And specifically what changes do republicans want so that they CAN support the bill? And remember, you are going to have to give the Democrats SOMETHING!

Hello folks. Glad to see not much has changed here. The righties still have their panties in a bunch, and after Wednesday's speech by the President (and Joe Wilson's outburst), they have proven to be as predictable as ever.

I have to ask about Obama's sincerity about a couple of issues. First, does he plan to continue his insistence on "bi-partisanship", even when the GOP continues to slap his hand away? Second, will he actually "call out" people who continue to distort parts of the Health Care reform bill(s)? Third, where do we stand on Public Option? This seems to be where he left the most wriggle room for himself. He's for it, but won't insist upon it. It's important, but he can take it or leave it. What about the Democrats? Will those insisting upon it be a bit more willing to compromise if those who won't vote for it come up with an alternative option that accomplishes the same goals (sorry, co-ops and triggers won't cut it IMO)?

I'll be at a conference for the next few days, so my postings may still be sporatic for some time. I actually had some time on my hands these past couple of days, as you can see. It's just so much fun seeing the righties jump and screech and scream like spoiled-pouting children. Face it. The question is no longer whether or not HCR WILL happen? That's been established for quite some time now. The question now is what FORM it will take? Forget the rabid-right for now. This is the fight before us now, and its up to us to remind the DEMOCRATS we put in office (including the president) WHY we put them there.

I'm off. Maybe I'll get lucky and get to do some 'teabagging' of my own this weekend (its a conference, after all). I suspect I'll have more fun than Glenn Beck's astro-turfers. ;-)

It has been an interesting week for our nation, and for the the GOP/RNC it became much stranger. The "Gross Odd People" (GOP), and the "Really Not Competent" (RNC), really made total fools out of themselves. Again! Our citizens learned that the GOP/RNC are truely mentally ill, Cognitively Disabled, and just simply very stupid individuals. They love to spread fear, false information, and use scare tactics as much as possible. The President made a great speech to America's school children however, the GOP/RNC still can not comprehend the simple fact that they are insane. Then "Wacky Wilson" the "Gross Odd Person" decides to "treasonously" disrespect our President on Wednesday. Then this illiterate wants to profit from his treasonous behavior the very next day! So, at the end of the week, our citizens can clearly see the following. One, the GOP/RNC are just void of any intellect. Two, they are out to destroy our President at all political costs. Three, they have no sense of right or wrong ethically. Four, the "lifeless leaders" of their party are morally bankrupt, ethically evil, and just political "pukes." Five, if they didn't have so much racial hatred in their dark souls. They would have nothing! All they have is their hate! What do I expect to see, and hear out of the GOP/RNC next week?? We HAVE to change our present health care system because it leaves millions of people without any coverage; it doesn't have any options to keep the current insurance companies in check to keep costs down, it guarangees coverage without pre-conditions and prevents insurance companies from dumping you if your condition is too expensive to cover. The proposed bill allows NO coverage for illegal aliens (and that's NO "LIE"), NO coverage for abortions, NO "death panels", no change in current insurance coverage if you don't want change, etc...what is the GOP so afraid of? If THEY had brought this same plan to the table they would be proud to have it pass. They just don't want to see Obama pass it. Because they know it is fair, very much needed, and good for the American people. Be a compassionate human being, not a political dupe. Listen to the fact, not the hate and lies.

He did lie.. The bill, in its latest revision, removed the requirement to verify citizenship. It makes it into another one of these "dont ask, dont tell" laws. the same ones that prohibit police officers to ask about residency, that prohibit schools from asking about residency. the same laws the prohibit having to proove residency to vote! Its crazy that this simple inclusion would satisfy most people from both parties that Illegals would, in fact, not be covered .

The program that was removed from the current bill was the..

Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) Program to prevent illegal aliens from receiving government health care services. On July 30 of this year, a House committee voted against a amendment that would have required health care providers to use theSAVE system. All Republicans and five Democrats voted for keeping it, but 29 Democrats voted against it, killing the amendment. why????? Why would we opt to not require validation to anyones status before offering services that we are all paying for.

Talk about conspiracy. We really have to wonder if the crisis of late last year was manufactured internally by the Democrats to create the appearance that the Republicans had screwed things up to change the tide towards Obama and the Democrats?

This was the timeframe when things begin to swing in Obama's favor. I think investigations are called for and if there is evidence of tampering all should be imprisoned.

in 2003, Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants’ healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250,000 annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants. The program has been extended through 2009 and there is currently a bipartisan bill in Congress to make it permanent.

What I've found:

$455K from Finance, Insurance and Real Estate
$412K from PACs and Health Care

with $244,196 of that from "Health Professionals".

Note the amount from Lawyers/Law Firms $211,870

I guess he'd have a difficult time making that argument about limiting "junk" suits, huh? Or he might lose some $$.

And inherited huge deficit, broken health car for decades and broken down economy. What are this people are expecting this administration should do? I would like the President to be asked who (27-29 members) he plans to appoint to the advisory benefits committee(or panel,if you like)that will decide our benefits. In the bill I believe it says an 18 month deadline to appoint. This is something that should be revealed BEFORE the bill is passed.
As far as illegal aliens, we have seen the results of NOT verifying status & if they don't put legislation in the bill to verify then they will be allowed to continue getting free insurance at tax payer expense while they are in the country illegally. If their intent is what they say there should be no problem putting that language in the bill but they have refused. Joe Wilson was right.
Nearly everyone thinks we need some kind of reform, that doesn't mean we need a complete overhaul.

Question for the vast majority of people posting comments:

1. Do you ever do your own research or do you just pick the demagogue from your side of the political spectrum and repeat what they have said regardless of fact? I see lots of propaganda here but nothing that seems to remotely employ, you know, evidence.

2. Do you all really how unnecessarily nasty you are to one another? Of course you are free to be as mean-spirited as you like but, I suppose what I am asking is, why do you want to be that mean-spirited? It seems more self-destructive than constructive.
