Hey First Read - How about discussing the dreaded "F" word, Fillibuster?  I wonder why the Democrats are so afraid of fillibusters, in fact I wonder why they don't threaten to use the nuclear option on fillibusters the same way the republcians used that threat against Democrats during the last administration.  I think that the Democrats are missing a grand political theater opportunity by not calling the bluff of the naysayers to health care reform.

I think it would be smart to let the republicans fillibuster HCR as C-Span shows their verbosity on tv during the whole process.  Let the whole country see endless loops on every news channel of verbal miscues as there will be plenty of those as the republicans will be hard pressed to keep waxing eloquent hour after hour day after day.  How long do you think their fillibuster show will fly before the vast majority of moderates raise up and decry the monumental waste of time?

Please give the fillibuster option some discussion, I think it would make for some lively debate.

I wonder how the party of sore losers would react if we Liberals start showing up to their rallies and townhall meetings all armed and dangerous?

I do have a question I have not seen addressed yet. If Massachusetts does the reverse the law and allow for a senate appointment, will that person be eligible for any type of pension or benefits package? Taxpayers shouldn't have to pick up the tab for a 3-month placeholder.

Bill Maher was awesome Friday night.  He pointed out that it's a real pity that President Obama wasted an opportunity to get a real Surgeon General in place.  His nominee came from Burger King and he's fat, guess he had it his way too many times.

We need a real Surgeon General, someone who actually knows medicine and what constitues a healthy diet, not some supersized fat farm candidate.  I suggest that he withdraw his nomination and nominate Dr. Nancy Snyderman, a real doctor with some real medical smarts.  I enjoy Dr. Nancy's show as she is an advocate for real health care reform that includes the public option.  Dr. Nancy dishes out great medical advice on MSNBC tv, for free!

Bill Maher was most excellent Friday night.  I enjoyed his monologue where he pointed out that the repugnant ones really want to use a certain word to describe President Obama but they can't, so they use all kinds of other words like Socialist, Facist and show Obama in a picture as an African Witch Doctor.

Bill aptly put it that they want to use a word that begins with "N" and ends in "ER" and it's not NationBuilder.

Just look at the Black List that the racists whine about: Holder, Sharpton, Rev. Wright, Van Jones, both Obama's, Kanye and Charlie Rangel are just a few.

I can see why they're doubly mad at Charlie Rangel as he is proposing to create three new top tax brackets to replace the two top tax brackets that Raygunz eliminated.  Charlie is going after their beloved Alzheimer President Raygunz and is trying to put progressive back into our top tax brackets, just the way that Republican Teddy Roosevelt intended it to be.

Just look at the Democracy Haters he brought on to speak: Magic Underwear Romney, Clueless Carrie Prejean and Mullah Huckabee are but a few.  The only notable name missing was Clueless Carrie's Mom, Sinner Sarah Palin.  Most likey couldn't bribe her with enough money for her to show her Wicked Wink.

We who love our Secular Democracy must remain ever vigilant as we can never, ever allow this group of religious fanatics to hijack our government again.  We've seen what happens when they do thanks to the Reign of Terror of Tyrants Bush and Cheney plus the Reagan, Bush, Bush National Debt.

Ironic that 500 years ago people fled Europe for our shores to escape religious persecution, and now the enemy of all rational thinkers and freedom lovers is in our midst.  Do not allow this Quisling Fifth Column coven of craven religious witch hunters to rise up and steal away our Secular Democracy or everything our Founding Fathers fought for will be wasted.

Today it seems quite common for dishonesty to be accepted wherever it can be rationalized as serving people’s personal interests.  The problems with that should be obvious but, like in politics, the rationalizing has just become too easy.  George W. Bush’s sociopathic personality, including his gross dishonesty, arrogance and lack of any conscience, should have been quickly recognized but instead the subterfuge was accepted and the costly problems then occurred.  Now those same people who so strongly backed and aggressively supported Bush are trying to have their way once again.  Should they once more be successful in grooming and selling the public the likes of Sarah Palin, Jon Kyl or any other of their ‘puppets in waiting’, who again have no conscience and are totally motivated by self-interests making them ideal for Special Interests and the select few to control, we may then just be in for ‘more of the same’.  Even the drastic efforts to be obstructionists, protecting their excessive financial advantages, reek of gross dishonesty aimed to manipulate public opinion.  If the people can’t be conscientious themselves, putting aside their biases, prejudices and emotional attachments to be honestly objective and rational, and instead once again buy into the deceptive efforts, the scare tactics and the manipulative appeals, then we shouldn’t expect anything other than ‘more of the same’!  BS just stinks and recognizing the bull’s presence, before stepping in it, should be fair warning!
