Byrd taken to hospital

From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell and Ken Strickland
Sen. Robert Byrd was taken to the hospital this morning after he "apparently stood up too fast this morning in his home and fell down," senior Byrd aides tell NBC.

"To err on the side of caution, his caregiver called an ambulance. He was taken to the hospital where he is currently being checked out. At this point in time there is no indication that he will be admitted."

Byrd, the West Virginia Democrat, is the longest-serving senator in U.S. history. In his ninth term, he was elected to the Senate in 1958. He is 91.

Here we go again...

Any bets on how many times we see the right wing whack jobs post KKK?

From an earlier thread some lunatic posted 'morals' & Republican'ts in the same sentance!

Gave me a good hearty laugh at that one...
Mark or Domenico: Can you tell us what are the procedures for replacing a Senator in WV. The time is getting close for another change.
60. 59. 60. 59. Can't seem to stay at the 60 vote level.
Here's wishing for Senator Byrd's fast and complete recovery. I'm a Republican, by I respect what the Senator from West Virginia brings to the Senate floor - a sense of decorum - a sense of adherence to the Senate rules. A remarkable career has been accomplished by a great man!

Ron Indiana

Yet another parasite. At least let the body cool before you start playing politics.

Give it up Byrd.....stay home and enjoy your remaining time......!

You're 91 years old......OMG!
No one should wish anyone harm.  I hope Sen Byrd recovers fast.
Great mind, great man. He's done a world of good for his state really is unreplaceable. Hopefully his voters will find a statesman as equally prepared and brillant as Sen Byrd. This is not an assumption that he is finished. Who knows. This guy could go to 100.
this is whats wrong with our goverment fortyone years of milking the system, damn!
