McDonnell hits back in new TV ads

Social issues -- especially the fallout over Bob McDonnell's (R) 20-year-old graduate thesis -- continue to dominate the race for Virginia governor. Consider the two new TV ads McDonnell is airing.

The first blasts opponent Creigh Deeds (D) for running a "dishonest attacks" against McDonnell.

The other one features McDonnell's daughter Jeanine, who served in Iraq, to counter the criticism the Republican has received for writing in that 1989 thesis that working women and feminism were "detrimental" to the family.

It is interesting how some on the right were qick to pick at the late Sen. Kennedy for an incident that happened decades ago and at President Obama for experimenting with drugs years ago but they have a hissy fit if something is brought up about something said or written by one of their own in his past. Such hypocirtes.
It's call rebellion...

This ad doesn't mean a thing. You are suppose to love and honor your spouse as well. But is it practiced? What about the C-Street Band? Let's face it. McDonnell's daughters rebelled against his teachings. The thesis was from his personal prespective and that's just fact.
This is what's wrong with politics today.  The candidates tear each other down instead of saying what they will do.  Why go back 20 yrs about what someone wrote in a thesis.  If Deeds has nothing better to talk about than the thesis maybe he should consider dropping out of the race.  If I was a VA. voter it would turn me off.  BTW why won't Obama release his graduate thesis?
If you think the Blue Dog Dems are nervous about voting for health care now, watch how nervous they'll be after the Republicans have big wins in NJ and Virginia in November. Recall that both states were won by Obama last year.

The country has become a hint more Red in that past few months. Keep an eye on that trend Blue Dogs.
McDonnell is a dangerous ideologue, and don't let him tell you otherwise. Why, in his thesis, he contends that Americans aren't ready for his type of Christian fundamentalist leadership, so he continues, don't let on when running for office. So why should we believe him now? His daughter is successful IN SPITE of him, not because of him. He won't win Northern Virginia, and therefore will lose the race.
Didn't McDonnell j-walk once too. Deeds should bring that up too.
eagle1776 --- Mr. Boehner, in case you haven't heard...we don't have direct relations with Iran. We have to go through the Swiss embassy.

That's only because we like their chocolate. It's not a deal breaker or anything.
Obama keeps kicking things down the road. The Stimulus failure? Oh, that stimulus will kick in next year? Afghanistan? We need to fight that war, oh wait, no we don't. Health Care Reform? It must be done in July, no August, no September, no November, whenever . . . Talks with Iran? In July, no October, no, later. Close Gitom? Next year, no, the year after, no the year after that.

On and on it goes with this guy.

Rather than a ‘shoot’ first ask questions later kinda guy… you know the one… ‘you’re either with us or against us’… ‘dead or alive’… ‘bring it on’… remember?

I mean look how well the ‘knee jerk’ reaction from the dynamic duo of deceit – darkness & destruction worked out for us!

Let’s not forget who got us into these messes!

How utterly refreshing to have intelligence back in the WH…
Michael Moore is the modern day P. T. Barnum.

Now there is a piece of work. MM complains a lot about capitalism, but yet, it's capitalism that funds his movies, it's capitalism that advertises and markets his movies, and it's those capitalistic theaters that charge money to people that want to see his movies (of which he gets a percentage). Then Moore sits there and tells us about how bad capitalism is? Typical liberal. Not a clue.
McDonnell, let me tell you something, I can help you. If it's one thing I know about, it's women and how to respect them.
Deeds should splice together a sound bite that has McDonnell saying 'macaca'. It's worked before.

Sorry but you can't run away from that thesis....And what is wrong with the republican men....They seem to really dislike and want to control women....
There you go again, Bob. Wrapping you and yours up in the American flag. OK, we get that you are patriotic, but what does that have to do with your conservative talking points on how to run the government? We know that you are against equal pay for women, against working women and by the way, why don't you allow your wife to speak? I know, it's that seen and not heard thing you like so well.

Gotta run now and contribute to Deed's campaign.
Wow - what year are we in?  Even McDonnell trying to defend himself by saying he's ok w/ women working, and contraception for married couples makes him sound like a candidate from the 1800's - NOT - from 2009.
Good for McDonnell.  I'm glad he's hitting back.  I have YET to see an ad from Deeds that's not negative.
Obama better send Super Joe Biden into Virginia, stat!!
Thus MEDICARE PART D for seniors. The price tag for us. 600 billion dollars. What say you missy? I am waiting with baited breath.

"Baited" breath? Unless you're a fish, it's "Bated" breath.

Wow this is so important!  Thanks for letting us know First Read. (sarcasm)

Meanwhile this has been going on all morning and MSNBC just posted a story at 1pm?! (As far as I could find anyway)

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33021463/ns/business-stocks_and_economy/

A Fed Audit would be the most significant action (good or bad) Washington has taken in generations.

Watch closely.  The way the Executive handles this will say alot about who they trust to manage the money of the country.
Isn't that special.  The only woman he could get to back him is his daughter, of course his daughter is going to back him, thats her dad.  It would be more legitimate to get an objective woman, sounds like the same kind of garbage Cheney pulls with his daughter.
