Palin holds fire for now

From NBC's Norah O'Donnell and Adam Verdugo
Ex-Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin is holding her fire now for former running mate John McCain's advisors but there are hints that she'll have plenty to share in her forthcoming book, "Going Rogue." Palin's spokesman, Meg Stapleton, suggested there will be plenty of material to respond to former McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt's comments today that a Palin presidential nomination in 2012 would be catastrophic.

Stapleton tells NBC, "The Governor will write about all of this in her book. There will be plenty of time to talk about it then."

At the Atlantic's "First Draft of History" event at the Newseum today, Schmidt said, "I think she has talents," adding, "My honest view is that she would not be a winning candidate for the Republican Party and in fact were she to be the nominee, we could have a catastrophic result."

Schmidt, who during the campaign was in favor of adding Palin to the McCain ticket, conceded that Palin has a great deal of support among the base of the party, referring to advance sales of her memoir, but added that, "she has done nothing to expand her appeal beyond the base into the middle of the electorate where elections are decided."

Oh pease run Sarah. PLEASE. You or Liz would do...please????

UGH!   Heads up everyone… ;0)

The thought of her on the book circuit is enough to make me cancel my Direct TV service…

On second thought… I CAN’T WAIT to see her The Ed Show or Countdown!

Like that’s going to happen…LOL

Better yet… let Lawrence O’Donnell interview her… I’d pay a premium to SEE THAT!
I wonder how many hours she spent with the ghost writer on that piece of trash. I wouldn't spend a dime for a book by or about Sarah Palin. She should have named it "QUITTER" as it is more descriptive of her life as a council person, mayor and governor doncha know?
ALSO:

On health care, Schmidt said the party holistically is deprived of ideas.
Sarah was asked about the Letterman situation. Her response? "Who's Letterman?".
Panic time for the Democrats. Republicans are gaining traction, and Obama is failing at every turn.

Maybe time to drag Grayson out again Dems. He seems to be the most intelligent pol among you.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let her run in 2012 - it would not only ensure an Obama victory, it would give me great joy watching Obama wipe the floor with her wide ass
Petty small people hold grudges.  Best to move forward.  I did call it, though.  She opted to 'bank'.  Can't say that I blame her.  With that intellect, options were limited.

just kidding.
Democrats rarely buy political books - they don't understand them. As for Billy Clintons best seller, it's used as door dtop in most liberal homes.

That makes the Republicans consistent with the Democrats.
Again....I have not seen anyone yet who could really really excite the middle of the country on the GOP side.  I agree with Mr. Schmidt that Palin only appeals at this time to the extreme right of the GOP base.
Sarah Palin will be on every news cycle between now and election day 2012.  It will be a four person race, with Pawlenty, Huckabee, Romney and Palin. Three of the four will be seeking the conservative base.  Schmidt is correct, Palin will not take Republicans to the White House.
just kidding.

Clara Kansas City, MO

That's the same thing the Democrats will say regarding Obama's presidency when it's over in 2013.
Hopefully she'll be able to answer Katie Couric next time

What newspapaers do you read ?

Does My Weekly Reader count ?
If she wants to make money on speaking tours, she really needs to wear a swim suit, play the flute and maybe bring along Tina Fay for inspiration

There was a Bush Admin staffer, Doug Feith who was known as 'the dumbest man alive'
Sarah Palin is fighting Michelle Bachman for the Women's title

Buy a Clue Sarah

So what your trying to say is, if an idiot writes a book for idiots you'll buy it cause you can understand it. Makes sense Republicans buy away.
Hammer Time: '...Republicans are gaining traction, and Obama is failing at every turn...'

LOL

SloJo can you give us President Sarcozy's thoughts on the Republican resurgence ?
Does he think the Republicans have demonstrate intelligence and purpose ??

How about German intelligence ?
What are they thinking, Bill, Fairfax ?
I understand you're a sleeper agent for the Germans
Any time someone needs a coffe, you get it

We're all hoping Obama quits soon. For the good of the country. Good gosh, things are really bad when the country thinks Biden can do a better job.

Don't want to hear it you people almost put this whole Country into chaos with that not really smart enough to be a Governor she quit right and then to go around trying to get some wackos mad enough to start a race riot, bringing and dragging her young Children into a spotlight that was meant for peole who got theri stuff together and then she was freaking or being freaky withthat wink all she need was to have on a mini and bend her knees I didn't no being fresh would get you enough respect as a woman with a family then a woman flirting with any man who watched her on TV ,she was not smart and her only hope was that Senator John McCain sorry sir but hope he if not died he got awlful sick enough foe her to be President my only thing are she was really a suceeder the whole time she's  not that hot, if she needed wardrobe, she was broke well that means the Republican's who authorized this were really aiming at taking us to war or worse think about it are we in better hand with President Obama than her yeh she was human but border line on the class aw forget it she wrote a book and is geting paid and she is the Republican Party's problem for here on out because she will never get A Democratic vote unless they are at the strip club and it's dark.
Just goes to show the libs on this sight are still intimidated by lovely Sarah. If she was no threat, why do they keep bashing her?
They just can't stand an intelligent, dazzling, powerful and moral woman that is a conservative.

Oh and feisty and anita, before you complain and start mouthing about her being stupid, just what state are you two governor of????????????
The foxy brunette known as Sarah Palin has shown a lot of class in holding back from nailing Letterman to the wall.

The libs make a big deal about the extortion because having sex with staff isn't a big deal. It wasn't with Clinton and it wasn't with Edwards. It's what they do.
Hammer Time - "Panic time for the Democrats. Republicans are gaining traction, and Obama is failing at every turn."
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Please keep thinking you've got us by the short hairs.
Palin didn't cause 10% unemployment, Palin didn't say she's win the war in Afghanistan and then run and hide when she had to do so, Palin didn't say she would spend a trillion dollars to fix the economy and then waste it on party politics, Palin didn't work for ACORN, Palin didn't say she would socialize health care and nationalize the banks, the automakers, Palin doesn't kiss the butts of the unions, and Palin would not pick a nitwit like Biden to be VP.

Palin looks pretty good when compared to Obama. I know, I know, setting the bar fairly low for her.
Its always going to be the same 20-25 million hardcore republicans buying her book or watching rushthedruggie or listening to anything on faux news.

Too bad we can't shoo them into a few states and let them have their own little fascist nation like they really want.
Hey Anita...

Welcome back! We've been looking for Eric and then you disappeared too... I was beginning to wonder...

Good to hear from ya!
I thought it was Rethuglicans who were Illiterate.  Palin's book is going to be an expensive TP.
As for Billy Clintons best seller, it's used as door dtop in most liberal homes.

Ha, ha, ha, but you bought it didn't you! It's all about the Benjamin’s!
"Catastrophic"??
Hell, I think she SHOULD run!
Then, Obama could screw up at least HALF as bad as his predecessor, and STILL win a 2nd term.
You go, Snarky Mom!!
Oh yeah, we Dems are panicing! Fraking out. Repubs are lying, humiliating themsleves, digging in their heels at any kind of progress, protecting their healthcare moneypots from ANY heatlthcare reform AND getting exposed for it - and WE'RE panicing.

Bring it on! We're laughing all the way to 2012.
I would like a list of books she's read in the last 12 months....anyone...anyone......
