from NBC's Athena Jones
President Obama's
lunch with business leaders today is intended for him "to hear directly from the private sector about key issues including the health of the financial sector, health insurance reform, climate change policy and job creation." The White House also confirms the attendence of the following CEOs:  Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com; Lew Hay, Florida Power & Light; Antonio Perez, Eastman Kodak; and Irene Rosenfeld, Kraft.

Did Obama order the Leather sandwich? He's been sticking his foot so much in his mouth lately, you have to figure he likes the taste.
Another photo-op! Will frames be provided this time? Kodak film will be used of course - don't want to make that faux paus with Perez sitting there . . .
Mr President, ask them about the Public Option

Explain to them the advantages of having something COMPETE with private Health Insurance companies

Tell them it will LOWER their health care bills !!

------------------------------------------------

Apparently, the Congressional White Caucus wants Rep, Rangel punished

But, the Congressional White caucus didn't support punishment for Speaker Gingrich or Speaker DeLay when they were caught breaking the law

How about Sen David Vitter ?
He admitted a long time 'relationship' with a hooker
(Heart of gold, optional)

A couple of other hookers have said they had 'relationships' with Senator Vitter
One put daipers on his little fanny

How about Sen John Enisgn ?
He was up to his eyeballs in bribery and extortion with his play mate and her husband
Didn't HE get a standing ovation from the Senatorial White Caucus ??

Oh !
And nobody removed Sen Ted Stevens from his position when he was convicted for bribery and tax evasion

What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander

This is well modulated outrage, no ?

Here's a PLAN !!!

From Huff Post:

'...Nearly 15 Thousand Sign Petition Demanding Reid Get Tough With Filibuster-Supporting Dems

A new twist in the left versus left health care wars.

A progressive group is launching a campaign to pressure Harry Reid into getting tough with Dem Senators who support the GOP’s filibuster on health care, circulating a petition demanding Reid strip any Senators who do that of their plum committee assignments.

The petition has already collected 14,000 signatures, according to Adam Green, the co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, the group behind the effort.

Early this morning, the group blasted out an email petition to 200,000 of its members saying:

Petition to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid:

“Any Democratic senators who support a Republican attempt to block a vote on health care reform should be stripped of their leadership titles. Americans deserve a clean up-or-down vote on health care.”

A number of “centrist” Dem Senators, such as Ben Nelson and Mary Landrieu, have refused to rule out supporting the GOP’s filibuster on health care.

The idea behind this latest pressure campaign is to draw attention to the fact that Dem Senators queasy about the reform proposal have the option of voting to get the bill past the GOP filibuster first, then voting No on the bill later. It’s also meant to spotlight the fact that Reid has tools at his disposal to enforce party discipline if he so chooses.

The signatures will be delivered to Reid next week. No idea if they’ll be effective, but it’s certainly an intriguing effort.

Are you LISTENING Ben Nelson ??
How ablut blanche Lincoln ??

By the way-I have been missing in action because my grandaughter made her entrance into the world ten days ago.  She is beautiful-and, unfortunately, she got my kidneys.  Please keep her in your prayers, all of you, right and left.  Thank you.

Just saw this...

Can't stand your politics but I'll be sure to send one up for your granddaughter when I hit my knees tonight.
obie does not care about jobs he wants us to be like
Europe where at least half of the population to be on welfare, if employment were high it would ruin his socialist agenda!
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL:
'...I'm sorry but this is WRONG!

Charlie should do the RIGHT thing and step down!

I don't want someone chairing the 'Ways & Means' committe whose 'careless' with his personal finances... and I don't care what color he is or what party he belongs to!...'

Feisty, it's a close call
Did Gingrich step down when HE was caught violating the law ?
How about DeLay ?

Sen Vitter violated laws with his 'relationship' with hookers
Sen Ensign may have violated bribery laws during his 'relatioship'

Nobody stepped down

How about Mark Sanford ?
Dick Cheney ?
Donald Rumsfeld ?

BLAGO ?

Politicians are bullet proof
I don't know if I want to hold Democrats to a higher standard than Republicans

Look at the last campaign against ACORN
Purnish them for the crimes of a few employees

Shouldn't we do the same for Blackwater ?
How about Halliburton ?

Or (as Sen Bernie Sanders pointed out) HOW ABOUT THE LARGEST Defense contractors ??
Lockheed, General Dynamics, Boeing ??

Let's make the rule first
Then, ask everyone to follow it

Start with No Torture

RED HERRING ALERT!  RED HERRING ALERT!

All members of Congress have a legislative staff and it is their job to know exactly what is in any and all bills.  They ALL have them...even Bachmann

If you please, maybe us tiny common villagers would be able to take a look at the prose written by our elites? You know, just in case we might have an opinion on the matter. Many thanks.
It Takes A Village - To Pay For Obama Care (Sent Thursday, October 08, 2009 11:34 AM)

Rather, I'd suggest that if Michelle Bachmann and her staff are unable to understand what HRC bill says that the people of her district should find someone else who is up to the task.

How much time does she need to read this thing, anyway?  We all know she's going to vote against it!
Like he's really going to pay attention to their input.  The ego knows all and sees all, too bad hor him that it's all for naught.
Just another BOBO photo op lie like the phony address to the most trusted doctors lie. The White House handed out the white coats to Doctors who were political Lieberals donors and tried to say they were reprsentative of Doctors everywhere. Another day another lie for BOBO
Mr President while eating consider this we do want the Public Option and really want you to know that everyone who voted for you expects it.In your campaigning you approached poliltics with mai Street in mind Mr.Baucus did not run for the office and should not be dictating to us what he thinks is best, people are and have been hurting for a while if you did not understand then but you do your Election became a reality by faith and this is the same substance that we are hoping that you stand on caving in willonly keep the Staus qou going against a Bill without it wipp keep the party strong, see if YOU CAVE they won't stop there and you might as well step down now see a lot is riding on this and could hurt not only future Demorcrats running for that office but if any other Afro American has the heart to run it might not be worth it, President Bush gave the Demorcratic Congress the name of the do nothing Congress which should wake some up SIR you or know member of Congress are children and those who whine should be voted out of their Chairmanship see never ever did we se when President Bush was in office did his Leader's vote against or try and curtail his Agendas, you wre a Senator and know they forgot about you knowing the backdoor deals they use so sir we are here for support and FIRED UP AND READY TO GO enough talk you are right not to rush on Afghan our troop's are in a battle area but they are not retreating so no threat is close and from that part of the Countrty it wil be hard fOR A terroist to get here with out help and from who we don't know but I do knopw this winter is coming and visiblity will be low,the terrain ruffer all we will do now by sending more troops is have them freezing, spraining ankles, damaging our equipment and just sitting that's all if we are not moving now we sure will not be in this season. So now if yoy want to draw them out burn those poppy feilds they will have to fight to protect them, those mountain bring them down see they are goat herders and they live in the hillside we don't and it will be harder fro passage not saying bring the troop home but don't go further without dedicated people from over their it's their war to now.
Sigh.  I'm tired of the President concentrating so heavily on taking counsel from those who are responsible for screwing up the economy, throwing people out of work, wrecking the environment, and creating the need for health care reform.  Perhaps a virtual mixer with ordinary folk would be in order one of these days.  I'd be happy to cater.  Here's a sample --

Yum, yum.
Another one of those days when being a fly on the lunchroom wall would be fun.  Good move because it pays to listen to as many voices as possible regarding the economy and Pres Obama knows that.

Jim, Santa Cruz.  Well stated first thought observation about President Obama and I agree completely.  It is exactly why I caucused and voted for him.

InTheMiddle,TX.  That last remark, sir or ?, was unnecessary.  You may not agree with me nor I with you but not once have you ever read a comment from me that used words like yours.  Fortunately, there are others posters from the great state of Texas who are able to disagree without foul name calling.
Who picked up the tab? Not Obie I bet. Probably didn't leave a tip either.
Obama himself did not read the HRC bill, but don’t let that be a deterrent to Feisty, Anita, MSierra, Nashville and any other of the dozen or so daily Obama cheerleaders.

The multimillionaires Jeff Immelt (General Electric/NBC) and Bill Gates (Microsoft) will give you lefties your little orange crate to bellow against "the rich" and "big business" in support of Obama, while they and their huge multinationals continue to outsource jobs to China and India and will profit mightily from "healthcare digitization" and "green energy".

But spare no expense for Barack. $1.4 million to fly Obama to Copenhagen for the Olympic bid. $50 million wasted by Mayor Daley of Chicago while 70 Chicago Transit Authority workers are laid off during a huge multimillion budget shortfall.

Rave on fools. You are being played like a violin by the ultra rich. The very people you despise!

You misunderstand. The idea is that if others actually take the time to read it, they'll vote against it too.
Rush Hudson Limbaugh.......sputter  sputter sputter.
Listening to Andrea Mitchell once again bring up the media chatter about whether or not Pres Obama is tough enough to be CIC and I wonder what good this does except provide controversy for discussion.  Excuse me, but anyone who could withstand the relentless character attacks and criticism during the two year campaign and remain focused, calm, articulate, and consistent is tough enough to deal with politicians in DC, the media and leaders of other countries.  Intelligence is a quality the president must have and the willingness to listen to all sides when making difficult decisions is crucial.  Will there be missteps or miscalculations, yes, but every president makes them.  The only president to claim no regrets was the one who had plenty to regret, Bush 43--that blank look on W's face as he tried to think is priceless.  My point is that you don't have to shout, scream, stomp your feet or wave your arms around like a fool to be tough enough for the job.

HOOAH!
I can't believe how lazy this president is - I mean, how dare he eat lunch!

Also, First Read - why do my comments criticizing Republicans as Fascits v Conservatives always get blocked - yet, people call our current POTUS a Socialist, Hitler, etc and they are always published???
MSNBC, why don't you ever post my comments. All you post is Rethug hatred!!!!
Nice bunch of ppl...who are totally removed from reality and "real life" for the average American.

Hey Sally baby.  I have a little news for ya!  It wasn't the current federal income tax rate, or federal spending that caused the unemployment problem.  Corporate welfare in the context of the tax code and allowing wall street to be turned into a casino did.  Got it?  You betcha!
There are no free lunches.  The president is trying to listen to as many people that he can.  They will all have to come to the table, to help.  No one is expecting to eat the same as they hav ate before. Everyone is going to have to share the bill, and some will have to go on a diet.
