Many folks on the right are crying foul about how Rush Limbaugh was treated during his short-lived bid to buy the St. Louis Rams. Just askin' though, is this a case of what goes around, comes around. Guilt by association, being a victim of twisted facts and name-calling? Doesn't make it right what happened to Rush but...

wear a sheet and you're bound to get dirty.
My brother likes to listen to Rush Limbaugh. One day, he was working on something at home, when suddenly, mid-rant, he heard the channel change to a bluegrass station. Turning to look at the radio, he saw his baby daughter had CRAWLED to the radio and flipped the dial herself. She was sitting there with a big grin on her face. THat pretty much sums up how women feel about Rush, even baby girls, and, you know, if women don't like you, then the universe doesn't like you.
Oh please righties, you can't defend the racist remarks of rush limpballs, especially the one where he said slavery had its good side. Come on, go ahead and try and defend it, we're waiting...........................(sound of crickets chirping)
Rush Limbaugh - #1 on Obama's enemies list, in front of Iran, Afghanistan, and Syria. Fox News was a very close second.
10/15/09 WASHINGTON (AP) -- The number of households caught up in the foreclosure crisis rose more than 5 percent from summer to fall as a federal effort to assist struggling borrowers was overwhelmed by a flood of defaults among people who lost their jobs.
The foreclosure crisis affected nearly 938,000 properties in the July-September quarter, compared with about 890,000 in the prior three months, according to a report released Thursday by RealtyTrac Inc. That puts foreclosure-related filings on a pace to hit about 3.5 million this year, up from more than 2.3 million last year.
Unemployment is the main reason homeowners are falling into trouble. While the economy is likely out of recession, the unemployment rate -- now at a 26-year high of 9.8 percent -- isn't expected to peak until the middle of next year.

10/15/09 VIENNA (AP) -- Oil prices reached a fresh one-year high above $75 a barrel Thursday, boosted by a weaker U.S. dollar. Benchmark crude for November delivery was up 2 cents to $75.20 by midday in European electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Earlier it reached $75.96, the highest since October 2008. The contract added $1.03 to settle at $75.18 on Wednesday.
I thought high oil prices were due to Bush and his oil buddies. What is the excuse now? And where is our Energy Rebate Check from the windfall profit tax on Big Oil that Obama promised while campaigning?
10/15/09 US Dept of Labor-On a seasonally adjusted basis, the CPI-U increased 0.2 percent in September after rising 0.4 percent in August. The index for all items less food and energy increased 0.2 percent in September after increasing 0.1 percent in August.
CPI increases by 0.2% but there is no COLA for Social Security recipients. Boy if the Republicans did that you lefties would be screaming. Where is Obama and the Dems compassion for the poor? It’s just a sham to get elected!
U-6 Total unemployed, plus all marginally attached workers, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all marginally attached workers:
Sept 2008 10.6%
Sept 2009 17.0%

Unemployment continues to RISE under Obama, by almost 7%. I thought he said unemployment won’t go over 7% if he got his Stimulus Package, maybe he lied and really meant it would not INCREASE by more than 7%. Don’t worry, it WILL go higher!

Come on you perennial MSNBC Obama cheerleaders, scream your anti-Bush insults and schoolyard name calling of the Republicans if it helps you get over the fact Obama is nothing but a cardboard cutout. No substance, no accomplishments, all vapor and lies.

As you Dems so like to gloat YOU WON, YOU WON. OK, now with your Democrat controlled Congress and far left President in office for 10 months (not even counting the phony  “Office of the President Elect” scam that cost millions) where are the jobs?

Why is Gitmo still open?
Why is the Afghan War getting worse?
Where is the end of the Iraq War?
Where are the Saturn and Pontiac workers and dealers going to find jobs?
Another Cash-for-Clunkers boost to the Emperor of Japan?
Why is unemployment rising over 17.0%
Where were the 600,000 new jobs this summer?
Where is the Energy Rebate Check?
Where are the “green energy” and renewable fuels programs?
Why are there almost 500 homicides a year in Chicago alone?
Where are the foreclosure moratoriums? Foreclosures are rising.
Iran is getting the a-bomb and intermediate range missiles. Who will stop them?
Mexican drug gangs infiltrate the southwest US. Where is the response?
An estimated 12 to 17 million illegal aliens reside in the US. Why are they still here?

FR--Many folks on the right are crying foul about how Rush Limbaugh was treated during his short-lived bid to buy the St. Louis Rams. But nothing. He deserved what he got. All money isn't good money. His "mouth" is what got his ass in trouble, it's just that simple. He's disgusting.
Payback is a real b***h isn't it? the NFL is about selling a product to a wide audience not a narrow niche like Rush occupies. Plus his own words have come back to bite him in that rather large posterior.
I really do not care if Rush gets a team or not.  The injustice in this all is that he was thrashed by quotes he never said.  Rush speaks his mind unfiltered but he never slanders, demeans, or lies about people.  If you listen to his show, he always plays the first hand source of something said, he never says, "I heard from X, Y, and Z, this from X."

Last, someone over at MSNBC, please ensure that Chris Matthews gets his Xanax, please.
PLEASE GIVE US A BREAK!!!!!
Don't even try to make a story about this. the guy is a drug addicted fat blow hole.
Hey the comish would have to put him under the leagues substance abuse policy if he bought the team.
remember he has a history of drug abuse.
Doesn't make it right? The guy is an unabashed racist, proven by his actual statements many times over. He deserved every second of bad press he got in trying to by a football team. Glad the group came to their senses.
Are you serious - foul?  Damn straight - what goes around, comes around.  Idiotic comments have consequences and this is it.  You simply cannot make the statements he has made and then want to OWN a football team - a sport which is predominantly men of color.  I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to be associated with this man.  He is simply to divisive and lacking in common decency. There is no reason to cry foul.  The lack of understanding of those who are crying foul is simply stunning.
The Rightwingers are complaining Limbaugh was treated badly, tsk, tsk, tooo bad. Why does't Limbaugh learn to keep his stupid, bigot mouth shut & stop stirring up his nutcase listers, there is enough evil in this world.
lol

Poor, poor Rush Limbaugh. . . I can't believe the NFL doesn't want to associate with a grown man who would try to turn a school bus fight into a race wedge to score political points.

Unbelievable! lol

P.S. So funny that nobody here at First Read wanted to sign their name to this post. Don't be afraid . . . Rush Limbaugh is all bark and no bite! :)
I keep hearing people make the same arguments...Rush Limbaugh has a right to be part of a group that buys the Rams.

WRONG!

Buying an NFL franchise is not like buying a new house or a new car...if you're buying a new house or a new car you can buy whatever you want so long as you can afford it.

If you want to buy an NFL franchise, the purchase must be approved by the other owners in the league and they will give their approval not based on whether or not you can afford it but if it's in the best interest of the league.

So long as Rush Limbaugh has his show, the NFL has to ask themselves how much of a drag his incendiary statements will be on the league.

Is is fair?  Probably not, but the NFL does not have to be fair...buying a team is a privilege and not a right.
Goes around comes around? I sure hope it comes around in the form of a lawsuit against the network, and all the propogandists like Shuster and his lttle chick buddy. I guess its OK that Chris Matthews said he was hoping Rush's head would be blowin up by a pellot gun. LETS HOPE MSNBC GETS A HEAVY DOSE OF KARMA.
What a nice boomer-rang effect!!!!!

to quote mr. limbaugh "LOOK WHAT I'VE STARTED"

NOW, HOW DOES IT FILL TO BE ON THE RECEIVING END OF TWISTED FACTS AND NAME CALLING??
Poor Rush,,,Pay back is a Bit@%.I can't believe he thought he could do One interview and we would all forget the crap he spews everyday. The guy is a racist,he is the leader of the racist movement, the wack jobs that we see them screaming on tv day after day.He is there King, they worship this creep, and hang on his every word. The NFL would have been his coup,he could have bragged about how many Blacks he owned when he was yucking it up with his racist friends.See Rush is a cancer,he spreads his cancer coast to coast,he is the mouth piece of the republiklans, the party leader, who the republiklans used to sell the war,and all the rest of there agenda,he is there man.The guy is a over paid loser who has to tie a steak around his neck so the dog will play with him.
Wait a minute. . . what did I miss? What I saw/heard was the Limbaugh joined a group that wanted to buy the Rams. There was an uproar because of the racist past of Limbaugh. There is no denying that past. He was on the radio & TV saying things like:

"I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark." - Rush Limbaugh

"You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray. We miss you, James. Godspeed." - Rush Limbaugh

So there are a lot of people that don't want him owning an NFL team, and there are a lot of African American NFL players that don't want to play for a racist.

I don't see how any facts were twisted or how he is a victim of anything except his hateful and sometimes racist rants.
Don't these people defend segregated country clubs on the basis of freedom of association?  That knife cuts both ways!

BTW, how do you keep the players clean and sober with an owner with Rush's chemical history?
The hard right that thinks that if you don't have a point the answer is to yell louder.  Mr. limbaugh isn't being discriminated against he's merely being held accountable for his actions.  Isn't that what rush would want.  Responsiblity,  he preachs that all day or is responsiblity and accountability just something he espouses for the rest of us the great unwashed masses.  Welcome to captialism and the real world Rush.   We don't live on paper or on the air what we say and do matter's and it becomes who we are whether it's true or not. Now it's time to pay the check for your behavior mr. limbaugh man-up and quit whinning...this is an opportunity to take stock of what you've sown...we'll see who the real Rush is now...
p.s. maybe you can get a wnba team. ha
"Cost of living increase witheld for the first time since 1975, as Obama calls for another round of $250 checks for 50 million seniors, vets and the disabled."

WOW! What compassion Mr. President! $250 bucks, about two weeks of grocery bills and half a tank of gas.

How do you and Michelle survive on your 2008 reported income of $2.8 million and the additional $1.4 million you just got from Alfred Nobel? Say, that $1.4 million is exactly the amount the US taxpayers spent to fly you to Denmark for the Olympic fiasco. How about paying us back?
My mom always told me that goes around, comes around. You can't have it both ways. A blind man can see what kind of man rush limbaugh is. He's clearly a racist and anybody who says he's not must have the same views he has. sean hannity always states that rush is a friend of his. I guess his disagreements with the President is the same as rush. 10% polieies, 90% racism. God bless this country, and God bless our
President.
This is so laughable.  For how many years now has Rush Limbaugh taken quotes out of context and used them against whomever was his target for the day?  He's getting a long overdue dose of his own medicine, I'd say.
Go to his website and read some of the transcripts for his rants.  Look at the outrageous photoshopped images that are plastered all over. When you see it in print it really becomes obvious just how over the top he really is.  Pat, from Boston, expressed it best last week.  Something about how when he was the biggest cheerleader for the disaster that is the Iraq war he ceased to be the "entertainer" that he likes to call himself.  He personifies all the things that the Far Right represents.   Smug, intolerant, bigoted, hypocritical, anti women, homophobic, and most telling of all, completely, hopelessly insecure.  etc. No wonder they idolize him so.
RUSH IS RIGHT

It doesn't matter how one feels about Rush Limbaugh personally. The lies that libs have made up about him and published are the basis of his lawsuits against those named individuals and the newsrags and stations that have allowed them to air. Certainly MSNBC and CNN will be sued and the word is that the case will favor Rush because their aren't tapes available to prove Rush said what was printed ... anywhere.

But this isn't about Limbaugh. It's about libs looking under rocks for the slightest hint of any racial term made by a VIP conservative white guy.
And Rush is on the top of that list.

Enter political correctness. Sharpton and Jackson have made racial statements. Still, they point the finger. The NFL has shown prejudice and cowardice toward Rush and will pay millions for that.

If nothing else, we see the hypocrisy of the liberal movement and also the now exposed hypocrisy of the NFL, who will allow players who are felons to play their sacred game but nixes the games biggest fan.
It's credibility and money that the NFL will lose.
The season goes downhill from here.

Rush is fighting back. Did anyone ever think otherwise?

Full Moon
Moon Dawg
Bad Chihuahua ... and the rest.

Given that he has had questionable statements (to put it nicely) about various players in the NFL, I don't see that he should be a part of a team management or ownership.  Has he ever apologized for those statements?

He says he is a capitalist.  The market has spoken because there was a forseen problem with returns from the team.  That is enough for me.  That should be enough for Limbaugh as well to know that he should only be making public statements on his show.
KARMA
Time for Rush to start suing all involved for using slander.
It's political. The players union does not want an outspoken conservative to own a team.

Much of it is the fact that many Americans don't understand conservatism/libertarianism. Liberalism only requires one to act emotionally. I agree that we need to help the poor. Liberals would rather cut them a check and call it good. Conservatives, believe however, that we need to help them help themselves. The adgage "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime" comes to mind. Conservatives want to create an environment where the poor can move up the economic ladder. Many of the "new rich" in the NE, who typically vote Democrat, recognize that high tax rates keep them isolated from us poor slobs trying to work up the economic ladder. They can afford these taxes, and they recognize that these rates put up a barrier between us and them. High tax rates is a disincentive to work. By the way, I did pretty well during the 1980's.

The way to help the poor is to create an environment where they may thrive. Lower regulations mean their employer can keep them employed instead of having to lay them off to pay for the new regulation. Same for tax rates. And when companies are forced to raise their prices to pass along a new tax levied upon them. Who does this impact more? The poor. Becuase they have less disposable income to pay the increase price.

The attacks on Rush are because people don't want to think. I don't know how many times I've read 'National Review' and after completing an article thought of an issue completely differently. I understand conservatism/libertarianism better now, but I still will read something either by Hayek or Von Mises and be forced to rethink how I view the world. My research on Kant and Locke is ongoing.

These are two fundamental ways to view the world.
