Clinton, McAuliffe to stump for Deeds

In advance of President Obama campaigning for Creigh Deeds next week in Virginia's upcoming gubernatorial contest, Team Deeds has just announced that Bill Clinton -- along with Terry McAuliffe, whom Deeds defeated in the Dem primary -- will stump for Deeds tomorrow in Northern Virginia.

Democrats are trying to do everything they can to narrow a race that Republican Bob McDonnell is comfortably leading, according to the polls.

Terry McAuliffe is untrustworthy in my opinion.

Asked about the chances for a public option now that health care reform bills have reached the floor in both houses of Congress, McAuliffe -- an ardent supporter of expanding government-run care as part of health care reform -- said he he wouldn't bet on one being part of a final bill.

"Probably not, no," he said. "I wish we could have a public option, but I'm also a realist."

McAuliffe said he still believes a public option is the best way to fix heath care. "I think it would be more efficient, I think it would be better for business, more cost effective and you'd have a better quality of care," he said, "but you know, they've got to get a bill out."

And it won't do Deeds a bit of good.  He's toast.
To little to late I think.Apparently when Mr Deeds beat Mr McAuliffe the Democratic powers decided to let him dangle. He has not been able to get his message across in an effective manner and has not recieved the help he needs to buff it up and inspire. Somewhat diapponted seeing as how Gov Kaine is the leader and this race seems to have been written off from the beginning. The only people that are going to suffer is us Virginians in this case but I hope it doesn't fortell how things are going to develop moving forward. If so Democrats need to take a real hard look.
If the Washington Post had not endorsed Deeds in the first place we as Democrats would be ahead. Terry McAuliffe knows how to run a campaign.
It would take an act of God - and I don't mean Obama - to push this pathetic candidate over the finish line.  With just two weeks to go, Deeds time would be better spent polishing up his resume because he won't be going to the Governor's mansion.
Anyone ever notice Clinton's endorsements don't mean much? Just ask Al, John, and Hillary.
