DNC to RNC: Get your mop on!

Posted: Monday, October 19, 2009 5:21 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Winston Wilde
DNC members today marched up to the doors of the RNC -- with mops in hand. The DNC members shouted "Grab a mop!' and implored RNC Chairman Michael Steele to come out and receive his delivery.

The mops were a reference to President Obama's response to his GOP critics at the DNC fundraiser in San Francisco last week. "Why don't you grab a mop? Why don't you help clean up? ... Grab a mop -- let's get to work!"

Three mops had bows on them, and were left at the front door of the building as a gift.

Obama also need to pick up a broom and sweep out all those old Bush appointees that are serving in positions thoughout his Admininstration - especially in all the environmental agencies.

Many staff (like me) who worked to elect Obama have been left sitting on the sidelines and have not been given the appointments they deserve.

First Read should do a piece on the slooooooooooooow Obama apointment process
Okay, this is Sara Palin's idea right?

It's got to be something she dreamed up, being so original.

See Palin would be a great President of the United States!

Too funny DNC!

Too funny!

You liberal dem's got to love this one. Ha Ha Ha
Obama couldn't use a mop if his life depended on it.

What an insane analogy to use coming from his expensive educated mind.

This has to seriously be a joke.
How. Stupid.
Shades of West Wing...when 'Pres.'Bartlet, with the press watching, walked up to the obstructionist (Repubs, natch) majority (?) leader's office or meeting room in the Capitol and left when he was kept waiting.
  Mop up indeed. President Obama is a real president and they left a reeeeaaal mess. Too busy figuring out what Rush and Glenn would do...
Michael Steele is a sorry, pathetic joke.  We need "real Americans" - to quote Princess Palin - like....President Barack Hussein Obama!
To clean-up the mess left behind by the Repubs it will take more than a mop - more like a 200 backhoes and 50 industrial-sized dumpsters to clean up the steaming piles of elephant waste left behind.
LoL  Did they know it was his birthday?  Thoughtful gift.

How Stupid:
You want stupid... Try delivering tee bags too Congress and the White House!
the shows about the same level of maturity the Dems and Obama have been showing for nine months now. Quit the whining Obama and do your job.  Also, man up, dude, and quit the fight with Fox. It looks so childish and unbecoming of a President. You wanted the job so damn bad now do and quit blaming everybody else!
Is this part of another Democrat musical number?
M.O.P.

Mao On Parade
Job creation.

Democrats act like 5 year olds.
Genius - pure genius. Did Steele pop his head out to say, "What up!?" to show how hip he was?
Steele's a boze, but really this is childish.
HERE I USING THE MOP

Stimulating Hypocrisy
Earlier this year, Congress passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 without a single Republican vote in the House of Representatives and with the support of only three Republicans in the Senate. This stimulus bill, which included $552 billion in spending and $275 billion in tax cuts, has provided much-needed support to state and local economies across the country. Cognizant to this fact, conservatives have jumped on the chance to personally deliver stimulus money to their cash-strapped states and districts, while conveniently brushing past their original opposition. A two-faced approach to the stimulus debate has become routine for many Republicans, with many GOP lawmakers who are standing against the stimulus in Washington, D.C., but touting it when they travel home to their constituents.

CONGRESSIONAL HYPOCRITES: Several House Republicans who opposed the Recovery Act quickly returned to their districts to tout projects that it funded. Stimulus opponent Rep. Joseph Cao (R-LA) met with New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin (D) and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood recently to solicit stimulus money for streetcar expansions and road repairs. Cao proudly boasted that he is looking "at federal monies that the state has and channeling more of that money to the district." Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) earlier this month asked for stimulus funds to be diverted into paying down the deficit rather than paying it out to states. But the same day he took credit for the construction site at Blue Grass Army Depot in Madison County, Kentucky -- a project that was funded in large part by the Recovery Act. One of the most brazen acts of hypocrisy came from House Minority Whip Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), who has repeatedly claimed that the stimulus is "failing" to create jobs. Earlier this month, Cantor appeared at a job fair in Midlothian, VA, to demonstrate how he is working on "long-term solutions that will put...Virginia workers back on the path to financial stability." But scores of jobs advertised at the jobs fair were created by the stimulus, and Chesterfield County, where the fair was being held, will receive more than $38 million in stimulus funding over the next two years.

HYPOCRITICAL GOVERNORS: Republican governors lined up to attack the Recovery Act and oppose its passage as well. Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA), said if he was still a member of Congress he would've voted against the stimulus and wrote an op-ed in Politico lambasting the Recovery Act's effect, calling it the "stimulus that has not stimulated." Yet the very next day, he appeared with constituents in Louisiana to present a jumbo-sized check of federal grant money authorized under the Recovery Act to residents of Vernon Parish. He later toured the state in a "Louisiana Working" tour, handing out millions of dollars of stimulus money while simultaneously attacking "Washington Spending." Similarly, Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC) wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal last year titled "Don't Bail Out My State," proudly boasting about being the only governor to travel to Washington to lobby against the stimulus package. Yet after the legislation was passed, Sanford changed his mind and told reporters that being against the Recovery Act "doesn't preclude taking the money." In April, Sanford became the last governor to seek economic recovery funds.

THE STIMULUS IS WORKING: The Council of Economic Advisers, in a report released earlier this month, called the Recovery Act the "boldest countercyclical fiscal stimulus in American history" and concluded that the stimulus added nearly 500,000 jobs to the economy in the second quarter of 2009 that would not have been there without it. Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME), one of the few Republicans who voted in favor of the stimulus, noted last March that even "those who were opposed to the stimulus spending will see some of the projects that are underway in their communities as they've initiated." Snowe said she believes that the effect of the spending has been to create an "amazing" number of projects in her home state. Many conservatives who opposed the stimulus or the idea of Keynesian spending in general have started to line up to defend the Recovery Act. On Aug. 7, Douglas Holtz-Eakin, who served as Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) chief economic adviser during his 2008 campaign, told reporters that "no one would argue that the stimulus has done nothing." Three days later, Niall Ferguson of the conservative Hoover Institution said the Recovery Act "has clearly made a significant contribution to stabilizing the US economy

Sarah Palin... better than bush....
What a campaign slogan
Their guy made the mess and they supported him. Now it is time to clean up the mess and the adults are there to clean it up for the kids who made the mess. Asking them to help clean up is reasonable. Being obstructionist just makes the problem worse and whether the next pres is Dem or Rep it would be worse if they don't grab a mop. So it is best to just grab a mop GOPers and start swabbing.

Bloomberg dodges questions about campaign stoking racial fears

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg dodged questions Monday about whether comments from former Mayor Rudy Giuliani made at weekend campaign events on his behalf were intended to ignite racial controversy.

Giuliani warned Sunday that crime rates could skyrocket if Bloomberg doesn't win re-election---Bloomberg's main opponent is the African-American Democratic nominee and city controller Bill Thompson.

“I worried daily that the city might be turned back to the way it was before 1993 -- and you know exactly what I'm talking about,” the New York Post said Giuliani told a crowd of ultra-Orthodox Jews at an event sponsored by Brooklyn's Bourough Park Jewish Community Council. "This community remembers the fears, the worries and the crimes -- and the great fear of going out at night and walking the streets."

During the year referenced by Giuliani, New York had it's first and only black mayor---David Dinkins--was in office. Dinkins was mayor from 1990 to 1993. City Councilman Bill de Blasio, a Democrat running for Public Advocate, said he was "appalled" by the Giuliani comments.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Giuliani’s comments verge on race-baiting,” he said per the New York Times. “Bloomberg should disavow those comments and show that he doesn’t buy into that kind of rhetoric.”

Bloomberg himself hinted that New York could go the way of Detroit.

“We all know that cities have gone through great boom times and then turned around and collapsed. Take a look at Detroit,” he said. “I think that was really because of economics as opposed to some other things. But Detroit went from a city where it was a great city with lots of good-paying jobs to a city that’s basically holding on for dear life.”

The Village Voice noted that Detroit has had black mayors since 1974 and the New York Observer quoted Giuliani biographer and historian Fred Siegel as saying the Bloomberg comments were "indefensible."
I give up.  HOW stupid?
So the racist democrats trying to make  a Black man do thier house cleaning.. Total racist pigs in the DNC
This has got to be one of the most juvenile administrations this country has ever had including the president and his wife. His children are more mature then he is. This president never gets out of campaign mode. He is to busy trying to be popular he needs to start caring about our Country an the People who live here legally instead of himself. He needs to use his mop and mop out all the corrupt and radical people who surround him as advisers and to mop up the mess he has put this Country in. Bush is gone it is now his administration and he needs to start owning up to it instead of shifting blame to Bush and The RNC. The democrats do not want any suggestions from the RNC they have shut them out this is totally a partisan administration and I do not need Fox news to to see this I already saw it during his campaign for the presidency Obama is like a spoiled child he throws a tantrum if he does not get his way or sicks his dogs on those who oppose him and will do anything to even destroy innocent people to get what he wants. He is pathetic I really worry for these United States of America Land Of the Free as long as you do not critique Obama or his administration you are a good American and possibly may stay free under Fascist rule as free as Fascist rule allows which is not much.
Wot the hades is this about?  Nevermind, I have my pet unicorns to feed.
George Bush and the Republicans left this country with a huge mess - a massive deficit, two wars, on the verge of a Great Depression. Now they refuse to help clean up the mess that they created. Why don't you Republicans grab a mop? Quit whining and grab a mop!
They need to make clear who created the mess.

It should be, "grab a mop and help mop up the mess you made of this nation". Deregulation that created companies too big to fail, screwing the seniors by trying to privatize Medicare while simultaneous shifting our tax dollars to the insurance companies and raising the deficit with the paid for Bush tax cuts that encouraged corporations to send American jobs overseas.
I love it. But they should have hired dancers and done a Fred Astair number for the press.
They already help to clean ACORN?
I get the point of it...but this was a little silly. Reminds me of a scene in "O' Brother Where Art Thou"...

Gonna grab the broom of RE-from and sweeyep dis state CLEAN!

Seriously, this is the first time I've thought the slogans crossed over into silliness.
Instead of worrying about stupid mops why don't you ask the questions about his staff.  Mao admirers in the White House!  No reporting at MSNBC as usual.
Funny, true.  But I do not want to see my President and my party wasting time with silly stunts and even sillier shenanigans.  Remember: what goes around, comes around and those evil minds can come up with more goofy and dangerous acts to one-up the mops.  We have lots of work to do.  Don't even give those republican clowns the time of day.  They do not exist in the real world. Please don't parlay this moment in history into a wee wee game.
"Obama couldn't use a mop if his life depended on it"
I think that if I were going to have someone mop my floors it would be Obama over born with a silver spoon in his mouth GWB. Of course not being able to mop is just another negative found to trash Obama. What a shame the right is so focused on the negative
Another useless article by the pied pipers news flunkies...

HOW ABOUT REPORTING ON ANITA DUNN!!!!!!!!

This Administration is terrified of Fox News.
They (Fox) appear to be the only ones telling it like it is, and this administration is afraid "We the people will find out their hidden agenda".
Has anyone who searches for the (true) news wondered why NONE OF THE SO CALLED MAINSTREAM MEDIA (including this rag) have not reported the latest Anita Dunn scandal.
She has been caught on Video. President Obama's White House Director of Communications, Anita Dunn, is trying to say her graduation speech praising the late Chinese communist dictator Mao Zedong was all "tongue in cheek." Really?
She says in the clip that the communist leader, the worst mass murderer in human history, besides Stalin, is who she "turns to most."

O= One
B= Bad
A= ARSE
M= Mistake
A= America

Where does Obama find these people? Unfortunately, prestigious universities are turning them out by the thousands.

What a bunch of leftist adolescents squeezing their pimples while America sinks.
Why doesn't Obama heed his own advice? Oh forgot, he brought all the dirt bags with him when he moved to Washington!
unlike some of the comments here; i like it! their party created most of this mess, so being the party of family values "you made the mess, now you clean it up."

the bush tax cuts to the wealthy, even if left to expire on schedule, will have cost this nation's government and thus the american taxpayers, over ten years, $3.9 trillion. during this same time, between 3/2001 to 12/2007 the american worker experienced the weakest job and income growth in the post-war era.
