The DNC vs. RNC money race

Posted: Tuesday, October 20, 2009 3:44 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Mark Murray
The political parties today released their fundraising numbers for September and the 3rd quarter. The Republican National Committee reported raising $8.7 million in September and a combined $22.9 million for the 3rd quarter. By comparison, the Democratic National Committee reported slightly more than $8 million last month and $24.2 million for the quarter.

So the RNC had the best month, and the DNC had the best quarter. In fact, the DNC says that this is the first quarter they've outraised the RNC since 2004. Of course, it helps having an incumbent president raising money for you, as he's doing tonight.

Good see Obama doing what he does best, campaigning. He sure isn't much of a President though.
The Democrats would be way ahead of the Republicans in fund raising if they got a dollar for everytime they blamed Bush for something.
Steny, what about bin Laden? Barack won't tell us where he is, will you? Jolynn Michaels, East Texas (Sent Tuesday, October 20, 2009 3:11 PM

Yep - Obomba in perpetual campaign mode while our country goes down the tubes and more and more people are unemployed every day.
QUICK!

Trial Lawyers, open your checkbooks and donate another $200 MILLION to the DNC just like you dis last year.

QUICK!

Trade Unions, get your syndicate controlled bosses to write the DNC laundered checks so you can remain THE largest DNC contributor.

QUICK!

Ask Raj Rajaratnam to donate some more money to the DNC before he is sent to jail along with Madoff or before he flees the country and needs a presidental pardon like Marc Rich!
If this deal goes through to give the corporations the same right as a human being i want them treated like one as well which means:

If they kill someone through their product i want it ruled a homicide and have the company executed.

They have to stick to the individual campaign donation regulations. (2300 max?)

I think both parties should direct all monies raised for the next 100 years to be payments on the national debt.

The RNC chairman Michael Steele, he's doing a heck of a job.

'...Only 20 percent of respondents identified themselves as Republicans -- the lowest number since 1983...'

You can fool ALL OF THE PEOPLE some of the Time
And 20% of the People ALL OF THE TIME.....

From Huff Post:

'...Post Poll: Only 20% Identify As Republicans, Lowest Since 1983

Reporting on the new ABC/Washington Post poll has mostly focused on support for a public health care option. But the poll also shows that, while Republicans have succeeded in stonewalling Democratic initiatives in Congress, they have not managed to rebuild their party.

Only 20 percent of respondents identified themselves as Republicans -- the lowest number since 1983.

"These numbers, coming roughly one year before the 2010 midterm elections, show that any celebration on the GOP's behalf is premature as the party has yet to convince most voters that it can be a viable alternative to Democratic control in Washington today," wrote Chris Cillizza.

George Stephanopoulos adds:

Only 19% trust Republicans in Congress to make the right decisions for the country's future -- compared to 49% trust in Obama. In addition, President Obama outpaces his fellow Democrats on the Hill -- by 15 points -- in this measure, providing some ammunition to the perpetual White House argument to Democratic members that their political success is inextricably linked to the president's. And unlike other recent polls, ABC-Post give Democrats a 51-39 edge in the generic Congressional ballot.
Of course, the poll also has some troubling news for President Obama. Among Democrats, strong approval of the president's handling of health care has dropped 15 percentage points since mid-September...'

Yeah !!
In 2010 the American People will EMBRACE# Tea Baggers and Ditto Heads  ;-D

RIGHT !!!

Cause they make SO MUCH SENSE    LOL
The fact the the RNC isn't raising more money should bring pause and concern to republicans who are expecting to win back the house in 2010.  Remember that the enthusiasm felt by democrats was matched with record setting fund raising in 2008.
*********************************************************
Also, since the Robber Barons have the most money, especially the war profiteers’; Halliburton/KBR, Lockheed Martin just to name to name 2 they would have more money.
However, the reality is polls show they still are losing.
Hey, RNC-  I'll give ya a buck-three-eighty if you promise to run Palin/Limbaugh in '12!
Keep it up Dems - we can never forget the damage of the past administration - and we must never let anyone else forget either. Not in 2010, 2012 or beyond.

The Repubs are gonna cry about Obama "campaigning and raising money" when he shoud be at work - yada, yada, yada - These same people were pleased GWB took 40% of his time in office away on vacations on his fake ranch in Crawford and never said a peep about his negligence regarding 9/11 & Katrina - never ever will I lose sight of what it means to have a Republican in power.
So, where does this money come from?  If they can raise all this money why don't they put it towards the national debt?  Seems to be that mainstreet America is still struggling but the RNC and DNC are getting plenty of money for their respective parties.  Very Frustrating!!!!
The DNC will need all the money they can get when they get their clocks cleaned from the upcoming elections to pay off all of their collective debt.  At least they can honestly be able to say that they would be doing something to lessen the Obama inspired recession.
