GOP watch: Palin to do Oprah

"Sarah Palin is going to sit down with Oprah Winfrey,” the AP reports. “Harpo Productions announced Tuesday that the former governor of Alaska and Republican vice presidential candidate will appear on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ on Monday, Nov. 16. According to Harpo, the interview will be Palin’s first about her new book, ‘Going Rogue: An American Life,’ and it will be the first time Palin and Winfrey will meet.”

"Some Republicans are worried that just opposing Democratic initiatives instead of offering alternatives will put the party in an untenable political position in the 2010 election," The Hill's Wilson writes. Check out this quote from Republican congressman Dana Rohrabacher, of California: “Unfortunately, I see a lot of Republicans simply involved in political games.”  More: “The Republican leadership in the House right now is constantly trying to play a political game to get a headline, and I don’t think that is going to take us anywhere.”

: Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will join Oprah on November 16th to discuss her new book, "Going Rogue".

Welcome to the spin zone: "Republicans believe their war against President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul drive will be buttressed by two events mostly outside the president’s control: the election of a Republican governor of Virginia and the unavoidable necessity of raising the debt limit… And Republican Congressional sources talk as if they already have the Virginia gubernatorial contest locked up. They stand ready to use a GOP victory in a moderate state carried by Obama to spook moderate Democrats whose support for health care reform is not a sure bet." (And so New Jersey no longer matters, eh?)

"South Carolina Republicans found an unfortunate way to praise their U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint, extolling how, like wealthy Jews, the senator is 'watching our nation's pennies,'" the New York Daily News notes. "That description came in an op-ed over the weekend written for The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg by a pair of county GOP chairmen, Edwin Merwin and James Ullmer. The chairmen’s opinion piece was first flagged online by the liberal TPM.com.

What they said: "There is a saying that the Jews who are wealthy got that way not by watching dollars, but instead by taking care of the pennies and the dollars taking care of themselves… By not using earmarks to fund projects for South Carolina and instead using actual bills, DeMint is watching our nation’s pennies and trying to preserve our country's wealth and our economy's viability to give all an opportunity to succeed."

It's all about the book sales...
Palin hatefest to begin in 3, . . , 2, . . . 1 . .
OBAMA APPROVAL KEEPS ON SINKING!

RASMUSSEN: Obama Ratings Sinking Again; Approval Index Nears All-Time Low...

CNN Poll: Half the country disagrees with Obama on issues...

THE GILD IS OFF THE LILY.

THE REAL OBAMA HAUNTS THE ADMINISTRATION.
Will Oprah ask why Sarah Palin quit?

Will Oprah be making a huge donation to Alaska Special Olpymics since Sarah Palin cut the budget?

Will Oprah ask how Sarah Palin can advocate that schools should teach abstinence only when it appears she could not adequately teach it in her own home?
Palin's doing the Oprah show?  Cool.
Has Rush approved this, though??

BTW Circus.... IF she's proven herself to be an idiot, no one is supposed to bring it up?  It's hatred, instead of a simple observation??

Also- speaking of 'hatefests in 3...2...1...', have you been following all the Obama posts on each and every First Read thread every day, regardless of the original story line??
You really want to go there?
Palin- the prime distraction from Obama's failure to reverse unemployment, housing price drops, rising foreclosures, business failures, ending Iraq and Afghan Wars, produce meaningful HCR, create 600,000 jobs by the summer of 2009, lower energy prices (oil now $80 bbl and premium gas back near $3/gal), Pontiac and Saturn closing but Asian carmakers make out like bandits in Cash For Clunkers!

Time for another vacation Barack. Take the whole fam. Fly Air Force One. The only way to fly!

Send me the bill.
Of course it's about book sales.  Oprah won't ask a single interesting question and will smile blankly while Gov Palin rambles off cliched folksy non-answeres about blah blah and tries to wink her way through the appearance.

Of course Oprah also promotes Suzanne Sommers and other quack-medicine therapies so being a sell-out isn't that new.

Question - the title of Governer is often used as an honorific when refering to former Governers no longer in office.  Does that apply when the Governer QUIT??
I don't have a crystal ball, so I can't predict how the elections will turn out. But beware republicans, you can't beat something with nothing. The constant "No" coming from the right is starting to bring attention to the fact that the righties have nothing, other than no. Just would like to remind everyone from early on in the year that the righties squawked about the budget, and would soon come out with the republican alternative, we are still waiting...............(sounds of crickets chirping)
Come on righties, offer something as an alternative instead of just trying to obstruct, we are all watching and paying attention.
Ya gotta love those South Carolina republican party. They have the Governor who goes AWOL from his job,so he can meet his soul mate in Argentina, over the Fathers day weekend, and cries for mercy,he didn't mean to harm anyone. Then we have Joe Wilson,a fine son of the confederates, who fought to keep the rebel flag flying in his state house. And Old Joe just couldn't pass the chance to show his disrespect of the president on the floor of congress. And now we have Edwin Merwin and James Ullmer writing opp eds about there hero DeMint, and how conservative he is and making a Racist comment about how he counts his pennys like Jews count there's.I hope people finally see what these people are really like, and the hate they have for any group that is not LIKE them. This State has one of  the worst education system in the country, and it shows everytime one of these Racist shows there true colors. And who could care less what Failin is doing, the woman is a Money grubber trying to cash in on her 5 min of fame.I hope Oprah keeps it simple,so the Ex Governor won't get to confused.
I hope that Palin shows what kind of thinker she is.  I think that Palin's previous interviews were terrible.  They show someone who doesn't really knows little and thinks about as much.  I wonder if Palin can show that she is more than an ideologue and quiter.  It is a chance for her to show something more.  I don't think that this is going to happen, but miracles never cease.

Sarah, this is a bad move unless you've got some
thoughtful and tasteful put-downs for Obama, knowing that he will be watching you on the Queen of Chicago, Obama being king of the City, pushing Springer aside.

Oprah is so Obie-prone that they might have as well be joined at the hip. Oprah has never ever endorsed a single candidate until Obie came along, postured and polished, to "rescue" America. That will tell you a little something about her.

Good luck and love .. and have a bit of an attitude.
But don't bring up her dress size.

Full Moon
Bad Moon
Moon Dawg ... and the rest.
Will Pete in Albany keep showing his stupidity? He obviously doesn't remember telling us about his mistakes. Hypocrite.

The Audacity of Hope?
If you can't use logic and common sense scare the crap out of them. That is what the GOP is all about these days. Obviously their ideas are not popular any more and so instead of changing with the times and mood of the country they dig in and try to scare people. It worked in the past but people are wise to this now and they merely look ridiculous and even silly when they use boogy men terrorists or "you'll pay more taxes" over and over again. It is like what Josef Goebbles, Hitlers propaganda minister said, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

More recently we saw this from people like Rumsfeld, Cheney and Ashcroft. Their supporters continue this belief and it will eventually destroy them as it helped destroy the Nazis.

Finally, it is interesting that Palin is going Oprah's show. Ms. Winfrey will ask tough questions and we'll see how sinister sister Sarah answers them. And I won't be wasting my money on Palin's book (obviously written by a ghost writer).
I CAN'T WAIT!!! I am  starting to pop my popcorn now! I will record this!!  This will be gold!!
