Obama agenda: Business and politics

"The president's politicking on Friday begins in Cambridge, Mass., with a quick 'official' event at MIT to challenge the nation to lead the global economy in clean energy," the AP's Elliott writes. "That appearance significantly brings down the cost of flying the president to fundraisers designed to raise money for two politically anemic Democrats, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut." Obama's expected to bring in $1 million for Dodd.

The White House responded to Dick Cheney's charges of "dithering" on Afghanistan. Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs called Cheney's shot "curious" since "the vice president was for seven years not focused on Afghanistan. "Even more curious," Gibbs went on, "given the fact that an increase in troops [for Afghanistan] sat on desks in this White House, including the vice president's, for more than eight months."

Dear Mr. President,

Again, I ask, where is the Constitutional authority for the government to set wages at the bailed out firms? To those who said ‘well, the gov’t owns these firms so they can do whatever they want’ is not entirely true. The gov’t is a majority shareholder in AIG, Citi and GM and they have a large ownership position but they are not the sole owner. These are still publicly traded firms with charters; they are not private firms and they are not the sole proprietorships of Barack H. Obama.

I am as infuriated as anyone about the huge salaries of bailed out bankers, brokers and industrialists who failed to manage their businesses properly and required taxpayer bailouts. There must be accountability and punishment for their misdeeds but NOT one that circumvents the law or oversteps the bounds of the US Constitution. Calls for dictating wages and prices may play well politically to blue-collar Charlies who feel this is some form of swift justice, but it is not. It simply perpetuates class warfare and untrammeled government which are far worse than out-of-control private enterprise.

Where was the executive pay outrage from the Left when the University of Chicago Hospitals laid off over 500 workers in February 2009, shortly after the election? Many of the discharged workers were Teamster and SEIU union members, while earlier in January 2009, Michelle Obama quietly left her $327,000/year superfluous VP job at the U of C Hospitals. There was very little coverage of that event. The unions served their purpose to advance the election of Barack Obama, now they are thrown away like rags.

Mr. President, America is still losing the War on Poverty-  “10/23/09  Data from the Census Bureau, released in September, show that during the first year of the recession, incomes fell farther and poverty leaped higher than during almost any other time in a generation. In 2008, U.S. median income fell to $50,303 from $52,163 in 2007. That 3.6% decline is the largest one-year drop since records begin. The poverty rate increased to 13.2% from 12.5%, meaning the recession has brought 2.6 million more Americans into poverty.” This is from the US Census Bureau, not Fox News or Drudge Report. The US Census Bureau- the very same Bureau who would have enlisted the help of ACORN in the next census. Maybe the “facts” would have turned out more favorably if ACORN did the calculations.

Current statistics on rising unemployment, foreclosures and business bankruptcies are very disconcerting to the devotees of the Obama agenda, but these numbers come from government statistical agencies, not right-leaning news commentators or encrypted shortwave broadcasts from the Montana Militia. The standard response from the supporters of the Obama Administration is to increase their vulgarity and ad hominem attacks against former President Bush or any press outlet not in sympathy with Barack Obama. So much for freedom of the press and as I have said many times, the Left will continue to surrender more freedoms for the warm, fuzzy protections of cradle-to-grave socialism.

So sad Raj Rajaratnam is in the slammer, he could have kicked in some bucks. I notice MSNBC glossed over his arrest with no follow up story. Wonder why? Only FOX has politically motivated news editing.

Raj Rajaratnam Big Democratic Booster Arrested
The Democrats have lost another source of political funding. It turns out arrested hedge fund manager Raj Rajaratnam -- charged in a $20 million insider trading case -- has given big to the party in power.
Here are his largest cumulative contributions this decade, according to data from OpenSecrets:
• $26,700 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
• $26,200 to the Democratic National Committee Services Corp.
• $11,100 to Hillary Clinton
• $10,000 to the New Jersey Democratic State Committee
• $4,600 to Barack Obama
• $2,000 to Charles Schumer
A Sri Lankan native, Rajaratnam gave more than $3.5 million to the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO), whose assets were frozen by the U.S. Treasury Department in Nov. 2007 because of its alleged ties to the Tamil Tigers. ABC also notes that Ranjithan's home was raided by the FBI in 2006 because of his ties to TRO.

Wouldn't it be great if Real news networks started to not give air time to ex VP's, who are trying to change history with there constant slam fests, designed to distract from the real truth about inept the Cowboy club was. From there Texas two step they did when they had Bin Laudin in the box and decided to take a powder, see Little and Dick had other plans, like Cheney had other plans when it came time to fdight for his country, another powder,% times he powdered up,instead of being a man he chose to hide.Something he did for eight years, hide like a chickenhawk that he is.The Busaney admin will not be treated to well be history, see these guys that write history books are not swayed by non=sense, they stick to the facts, and those facts will show how bad these clowns F=ed up.
What's "curious" is Obie's inability to get anything done and then he tries to cover that up with the worn out excuse of blaming everyone else except himself.
HEADLINE = NO OBAMA IN 2012.

Barack Obama sees worst poll rating drop in 50 years
The decline in Barack Obama's popularity since July has been the steepest of any president at the same stage of his first term for more than 50 years.

Barack Obama's popularity has fallen steeply since being elected last year Photo: AFP Gallup recorded an average daily approval rating of 53 per cent for Mr Obama for the third quarter of the year, a sharp drop from the 62 per cent he recorded from April.

His current approval rating – hovering just above the level that would make re-election an uphill struggle – is close to the bottom for newly-elected president. Mr Obama entered the White House with a soaring 78 per cent approval rating.

OBAMA'S AUDACITY OF FAILURE!
How you gonna spin THIS into your 'anti' Obama rants there righties?

If memory serves me.. the Walter Reed debacle happened under the Republican'ts WATCH!

Send our troops into the 'meat grinder' and then leave them to 'fend' for themselves when they return...

Yup you righties are SURE patriots alright!!!

Country First my a@@!!

You cannot make your case on one single part of the system not working as orginally intended (ie Walter Reed)...

No chance this is passed off on Bush...OR Obama...This goes back decades...

Our veterans have been treated like excrement for years...PLUS the fact, 'Feisty', that the state of Illinois has been last (read 50th) on the list for VA benefits for a long time...Under a Democratic leadership...

But look for decades before that...No matter the party in charge...

No more "Soldiers and dogs keep off the grass"...

Either send the troops necessary, or bring them all home and close our borders...
Obama spends 25 hours of his time for the Olympics. 25 minutes for his commander in Afghanistan. Obama spends half his time the last two weeks campaigning. He spends a few hours trying to figure out how to weasel his way out of Afghanistan.

Obama - The Wrong Priority.

---------------------------------------------

On the matter of Afghanistan, the Bush Administration voted "Present"!
Of all the gall.  A request for more troops set on his and W's desk for eight months and they left it for President Obama to handle.  The hypocrosiy is simply stunning.  Since he was too busy making money in Iraq and his company doing shoddy work, he really has some nerve.  Go back to where you were hiding Shooter and shoot yourself in the foot.  It's pretty bad when even Pat Buchanan says it is valid critisism of Cheney and all Republicans to say they took their eyes off the ball and now want it done immediately if not sooner.  Even Mika mouse was up in arms over Cheney.  It's sad really for this man to make all these accusations and not once take responsibility for the mess he created and left for someone else.  I have an idea, when Shooter speaks, how about ignoring it. Please do not give that man any credence by publishing the nonsense he spews.
Nancy Pelosi repeated that the House health-care legislation WILL have a public option in it, while in the Senate Olympia Snowe and a bipartisan group of centrist senators is poised to stop the healthcare reform bill from even coming to the Senate floor if it contains the public option.
So let me see if I get this right, the bill WON’T pass if it DOES NOT have a public option and the bill WON’T pas s if it DOES have a public option.  Sounds to me like the Democrats are right on target...., right on target for getting nowhere!
The Democrats are pushing a whole cart full of lies.
1. If they tax the insurance companies, the insurance companies WILL pass on the increase to the customers in the form of higher rates.
2. If they tax business and their employees who already have insurance (thus taxing existing health-care benefits), the businesses WILL either reduce employee salaries to make up the difference, or the businesses WILL stop offering insurance to their employee’s altogether.  Either way the businesses will not allow the issue to cut into their bottom line, they will not allow it to cost them more money.
3. Whatever kind of final bill they come up with, IF it passes, IT WILL cause the cost of insurance to go up, not down, IT WILL INCREASE the size of the deficit, NOT DECREASE IT, and a lot of business WILL stop offering insurance to their employees so that the business no longer have to absorb that cost and the employees WILL have to turn to the government, which WILL drive up the cost of the heath-care plan.
The Democrats and the Obama administration are trying to push a bill through just so they can say they did it, period.  I say let them do it, the more they lie (which is what politicians do best) to the American people, the more it will come back and slap them in the face come next November, and they WILL get exactly what they deserve, their asses booted  right out of their cushy Washington jobs.
How on earth can Dick Cheney accuse anyone else of "dithering" on Afghanistan?  He and his buddy King George dithered on Afghanistan for seven years.  Despite his recent claim that they would have responded if someone had told them we needed more troops there, when they got THIS report from Condoleezza Rice AND their own general on what it would take to finish the job ...

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/07/world/europe/07diplo.html

... they responded in typical fashion by tucking their tails neatly between their legs and abandoning the problem for the next administration to deal with.

No one should ever take this dithering idiot seriously, ever again.
Seriously - the more Dick Cheney talk the more he discredit himself (not to implicate he had any).

It's obvious Dick Cheney is trying to do two things -

1.) Cater to his ever diminishing base.

2.) Save face - as history will prove he and George Bush to be the biggest Presidential failures of our time.

But, his arrogance doesn’t allow him to see that he would be better off doing the same thing his former boss is doing – laying low and keeping quite.

He does more harm to himself; continues to confirm to U.S. how much of a numb skull and self centered, egotistic jerk he is and will always be.

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA
The US generally leads the world in technology and the cutting edge of every good thing. Unfortunately we have fallen behind other countries in the advocacy and production of clean energy. Brazil, for example, is leaps and bounds ahead of us as they have shed their need for foreign oil and now are energy self sufficient. Throughout Europe there are factories building wind turbines and huge factories in Singapore and other Far Eastern countries are building everything from wave motion energy machines, to wind turbines,to solar panels and more. This is how we put Americans to work. Clean energy.
To those of you who post irrational comments that 9 months of this Presidency outweigh the action/inaction and stupidity of the cheney/bush administration for 8 years on the economy, wars, foreign policy, race relations, etc I beg of you to seek some professional help.  No matter how many hateful, insane, ugly ways you, FOX and they (GOP'ers) say it, they ARE to blame for this mess our country and the world are now in, and we all should remember that. Voters in future races should look for more reasonable, honest, and civilized leaders to represent us so that we, and our children, can try to live with some measure of peace in the future. I am one senior citizen who is tired of all the fighting that we are doing with each other, afterall, we are all Americans!
WHERE HAS OBAMA'S STIMULUS GONE?

WASHINGTON — A top White House economist says spending from the $787 billion economic stimulus has already had its biggest impact on economic growth and will likely not contribute to significant expansion next year.
I have to agree.  Where was the Bush/Cheney administration?  They truely lost the ball on this one.  We could have been out of Afghanistan, or closer to it, if the previous administration had gotten its act together and not gone into Iraq with little foresight.  Did Bush make some remark about not caring where Bin Laden was during the early days of the Iraq conflict?  I thought that I had a short attention span.
I think that Obama will cause a lot of disappointment and people will re-think his reelection.
I think its a good idea what Obama has planned on going to MIT to challenge the nation to lead the global economy in clean energy. It will also decrease the cost of flying, which is also an advantage.
The Obama administration on Thursday tried to make "pay czar" Kenneth Feinberg available for interviews to every member of the White House pool except Fox News. But the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV networks decided that none of their reporters would interview Feinberg unless Fox News was included.

I think it is pathetic that your news organization does not have anything about this Obama travesty anywhere on your web site.  This is REAL news that THE PEOPLE have a right to know what the current administration is trying to get away with....shame on you!
I agree with the White House on the comments from the WORST Vice President to stain the office about Afghanistan. Where the hell was he during the 7 1/2 years since the 9/11 attacks that happened on HIS watch?
I'll answer that one - he was diverting attention from Bin Laden and Afghanistan to go to war with Iraq on false 'intelligence', lying at every opportunity about the Bush administration's dispicable reasons for damaging America's reputation throughout the world.
After all-it's not what we think about the Iraq war, it's what the Arabic world thinks of America and how that view puts Americans safety at risk. In effect Cheney's policies put us all in a heightened risk of attack. Thanks for NOTHING Dick!
Speaking of Cheney. Have any of the Patriot Act "horror stories" come true? Here is an update. From the LA Times today, Oct. 23, 2009:

Wow... no comment on the White House trying to exclude a major news organization from an interview with the Pay Czar?  Congratulations for the other players sticking together to not allow it.  This seems like major news to me... and of great interest to all media outlets as a whole.  Why does MSNBC not cover this?  I had to find the story on another newtork.
