Hoyer defends Obama, slams Cheney

From NBC's Luke Russert
During his weekly pen-and-pad session with Capitol Hill reporters, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) acknowledged that President Obama is still determining the objective of fighting the war in Afghanistan,

"I believe that the president is in a very considered, thoughtful careful way considering what our options are and what resources we need to accomplish our objectives," Hoyer said, "first of all what our objectives are going to be and deciding what resources we need to accomplish those objectives.”

Hoyer then asserted that NATO needs to do more in the war-torn country: “I still think it is an important objective for our NATO allies and for others in the international community; I think that it is not the United States’ burden alone. It is the burden of a lot.”

Hoyer also did not miss an opportunity to defend President Obama against comments that former Vice President Cheney recently made suggesting that the Obama administration was "dithering" on a war strategy for Afghanistan:

"Although you didn't ask me this question, I think Vice President's Cheney attack on the president as quote 'dithering,' is an extraordinary assertion coming from an administration that ignored Afghanistan essentially for seven years, did not accomplish the objectives in Afghanistan and left this administration a growing Taliban presence and strength and an al Qaeda that was very viable not only in Afghanistan but in Pakistan," Hoyer said. "So for a member of a previous administration, that played such a critical role in this, to be asserting somehow that the president is taking less time at this point in time, that George Bush took to consider the surge in Iraq I think is unfortunately unjustified."

Recently, Democrats have taken to heavily criticizing the Bush administration when the topic of Afghanistan is discussed. Hoyer’s comparison that President Obama is taking less to time formulate a strategy in Afghanistan than President Bush took to sign off on the Iraq surge demonstrates a new Democratic talking point meant to deflect criticism from the right and to tie the current situation in Afghanistan to the Bush administration.

Democrats circle the wagons well. Too bad they are trying to defend the indefensible. Obama hasn't a clue about what he doing. He's making military decisions based on politics, not on winning in Afghanistan. Failure appears to be the onlu option to the Democrats.
I'm sooo loving the FACT that for the first time in my life Democrats are telling it like it is and not rolling over to the right wing whack jobs!

It's about freakin time we give it back to the GEENOPEE!

Hey... isn't it about time for Boner to come out BLASTING again? They're becoming SO predictable you can set your watch by their antics.. lol lol lol

Tried to get this out yesterday...

As much as I loathe the organization and everything it stands for, I don’t mind that the nattering nitwits of negativity tune in for their daily dose of brainwashing!  Think of it this way… keeps them off the streets! (Well.. unless they’re organizing a tea party or something)   lol lol lol

What I do OBJECT to is them falling all over one another trying to convince anyone with an IQ > than a turnip that what’s being promoted by these shills is FACTUAL NEWS!

Earlier I reference the NON-FACTUAL story the Foxholes & Limpballs ‘ran’ with last week about President Obama’s college thesis!

Even when called out for reporting a BOLD faced LIE… they STILL insist on spinning their ‘so-called’ ‘retractions!

I think we should continue to hand feed these cretins as many BS stories as possible.  The bright side being:  1.) They would have to ACTUALLY do some WORK fact checking & 2.) If they didn’t they would CONTINUE to look like the asses they are with EVEN more egg all over their bloated white faces!!!

Since I DON’T watch the freak show channel… anyone know how many minority pundits are on their payroll?
Gee, Cheney makes a little speech, and the Democrats run around for weeks whining about it. Time for you and your party to man up Steny, maybe come up with a solution or an accomplishment once in a while rather then crying about what some mean man said about you.
Dither On Mr. President. Cheney was dithering under bed pissing in his pants because he was too afraid to come out and take a leak.
At least your dithering exemplifies your strength, resolve and ability to deliberate on complex issues.

Mr. President you have the support of America behind you, and Vice President Biden  and Senator Kerry who are not hand puppets like the the ones Cheney hand; mainly Georgie Boy.
Meanwhile, more and more US soldiers die while waiting for Obie to make up his little mind.
How ironic! After 8 years fighting in Afghanistan, we need to assess our objective there.  Just goes to show you how much Bush failed there!  Its a mid-evil country, still living in the 13th century!  I say, pull out, and let them figure out their own way.
AFGHANISTAN IS OBAMA'S WAR BUT THE CHICKEN-IN-CHIEF DOESN'T KNOW WHETHER TO FIGHT OR RUN!
