First thoughts: Business as usual

*** Business as usual: We're soon coming up on the one-year anniversary of Barack Obama's presidential win. And one of the messages he used during the two-year campaign -- with much success -- was that he stood for changing the ways of Washington. But a year later, according to the latest NBC/WSJ poll, Washington is about as unpopular as it ever was. In the survey, just 23% say they trust government, which is the lowest number on this question in 12 years. What’s more, nearly half of respondents (46%) support building an independent political party to compete with the Democrats and Republicans. And nearly six in 10 (57%) blame both Ds and Rs for the partisanship in Washington; 24% blame only the Republicans and 17% blame the Democrats. “I was hoping that business as usual was going to stop with the Obama administration,” said poll respondent Brian Gross of Poolesville, MD, “and so far I just haven’t seen that.” As we’ve asked before: Does the president need to do something symbolic to show he's trying to change the D.C. culture? Maybe veto a bill with earmarks?

*** Obama, The Man vs. Obama, The President: President Obama hasn’t been immune to this anger at Washington, although he remains the most popular politician in the poll. His job-approval rating remains at 51% for a third-straight survey, 56% have a favorable view of him, and a combined 74% say they like him personally. Indeed, our poll -- which measured the president on 16 different attributes -- makes it clear that the public likes Obama the man much more than Obama the president. His high scores on personal qualities (such as being easygoing and likeable, being inspirational and exciting, improving America’s image around the world, etc.) averaged in the low 60s. But his grades on professional attributes (being a good commander-in-chief, uniting the country, changing business as usual in Washington, and achieving his goals) averaged in the low 40s. In fact, just 38% gave him high marks for uniting the country, which is a 32-point drop (!!!) from our January 2009 poll. To borrow that line from the ‘80s, “Where’s the beef?” The potentially good news here for Obama is that he has time to boost his professional scores, especially if/when health care passes.

*** A tipping point? But it's as if Obama is at a tipping point right now. So far, his personal ratings have held up, and the public has only taken it out on him professionally. The more pessimistic the country gets the more likely he'll see erosion on those personal qualities. Then again, his strong personal ratings give him some latitude and provide an opportunity to improve the professional scores. A signed health care bill, a decision on Afghanistan, progress on the jobs front are all events that could move the numbers. Another thing: If you were trying to find words to describe our NBC/WSJ poll, you might choose “unstable stability.” The numbers are pretty stable, but the public is feeling anything but…

*** Time to resurrect that dog food metaphor? While impressions of Obama’s professional performance are mixed, the same can’t be said of the Republican Party at large. Put simply, the GOP’s brand is still a mess. According to the poll, just 25% have a positive opinion of the party (compared with 42% for the Dem Party), which ties the GOP's low-water mark in the survey and which is a worse score than it ever had during the Bush presidency. (Honest question: Can the party still blame Bush for their problems if their numbers have gotten lower since he left the scene?) In addition, only 23% approve of the way in which congressional Republicans have handled health care (compared with 43% for Obama). And looking ahead to the 2010 midterms, 46% prefer a Democratic-controlled Congress, versus 38% who want a GOP-controlled Congress. Last month, Dems held a 43%-40% advantage. Also, don’t miss this: Despite being out of office and (relatively) out of the news, Sarah Palin’s fav/unfav in our poll has dropped from 32%-43% in July to 27%-46% now. In fact, her numbers now are nearly identical to Nancy Pelosi’s (26%-42%). By the way, both Palin and Pelosi are more popular than the Republican Party.

*** On Afghanistan: Today’s big headlines are out of Afghanistan, where NBC’s Brian Williams has been reporting from for past couple of days. One, October has been the deadliest month for U.S. troops in the country. Two, several U.N. workers were killed in Kabul after an early morning attack by the Taliban. So what are Americans views on Afghanistan? Per our poll, by a 47%-44% margin, respondents support increasing the troop level there, which is a reversal from last month, when 51% opposed an increase and 44% supported it. Also, as Republicans criticize Obama for waiting to announce his troop decision -- Dick Cheney recently said the president was “dithering” -- almost six in 10 (58%) say they support delaying a decision until after Afghanistan’s run-off election on Nov. 7. And when presented with four different approaches to Afghanistan, the most acceptable (at 55%) was sending 10,000 more troops to the country, while the least acceptable (at 43%) was Gen. McChrystal’s recommendation of 40,000 more troops. To put it another way, it's more acceptable to Americans to send more troops (10,00 in this case) than not sending ANY more troops. This finding also was noteworthy: 62% said they had more confidence in the generals on the ground to make the right decisions on military strategy, versus 25% who said they had more confidence in the president.

*** On health care: The NBC/WSJ poll also shows that opinions on the health-care debate haven’t changed much over the past month. Only 38% percent believe that Obama’s health plan is a good idea, compared with 42% who said it’s a bad idea, which is virtually identical to last month's score. But what has changed -- slightly (and within the margin of error) -- is the opposition to a public option. Last month’s poll found that Americans OPPOSED it by a 48%-46% margin. But now they SUPPORT it by a 48%-42% score.

*** More pro-gay, more pro-life, and more pro-gun: Besides all these numbers, perhaps the most interesting findings in the NBC/WSJ come on a series of questions about social issues. On the one hand, the percentage of respondents believing that abortion decisions should be left to a woman and her doctor has dropped from 55% in 2007 to 51% now. On the other hand, the opposition to gay marriage also has dropped, from 62% opposed in 2004 to 49% now. And also decreasing is the public’s support for gun-control measures. In 1991, three-quarters of Americans supported banning the sale of assault weapons and semiautomatic rifles. Yet this past April, 53% favored it, and in this new poll 49% say they support the ban. So as much as we in the media and both parties try to fit Americans into neat red-blue boxes on social issues, it isn't that easy.

*** Have Republicans found their Ned Lamont? With Joe Lieberman back in the news, here’s a question we pose to folks: Has conservative Doug Hoffman in that NY-23 special congressional election become the GOP’s Ned Lamont? Well, supporting Hoffman over the more moderate GOP nominee Dede Scozzafava certainly has become a Republican litmus test of sorts for 2012, much like supporting Lamont over Lieberman was back in ’06. The only difference to us is how FAST Republican politicians like Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty have backed Hoffman. Remember that the Democratic establishment (including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama) didn’t start supporting Lamont until after he had won the Democratic nomination over Lieberman in that 2006 Senate contest. RNC Chair Michael Steele said on “Morning Joe” that he was supporting the Republican candidate in the race, Scozzafava.

*** Holding your nose while voting in NJ: In the latest Quinnipiac poll measuring the New Jersey gubernatorial contest, Jon Corzine's (D) lead over Chris Christie (R) has narrowly increased from 41%-40% to 43%-38%, but that's margin of error movement. Chris Daggett, meanwhile, remains in the low teens (13%). Now among Daggett supporters, 43% of them say Christie's their second choice, while 27% picked Corzine. Other polls have had this breakdown differently. Christie's fav/unfav is still upside down at 37%-42%; Corzine's is a tad worse, 41%-52%; and Daggett sports the ONLY net positive rating at 21%-16%. By the way, Corzine's job rating is UNDER 40 -- at 39%. The state legislature in the state has an even LOWER approval rating at 26% (will that translate to down ballot churn?) Now, here's the best explanation in this poll why Corzine's ahead. He's got a net positive rating on the question of being honest and trustworthy (46%-44%), while Christie has a net NEGATIVE rating on this question, 37%-39%.

*** Obama’s day: At 11:00 am ET, President Obama delivers the Congressional Gold Medal to former Massachusetts Sen. Edward Brooke (R). At 2:10 pm, the president signs the National Defense Authorization Act into law. And then at 6:05 pm, he delivers remarks at an event commemorating the enactment of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act.

Pat Is Right:

The struggle for HCR is not over and there is more work to be done.  Snowe, Nelson, Lincoln, Lieberman…and Bayh are being oppositional and it’s time to let them know that their tenure in the Senate could be on the line.  HCR is a defining issue for progressives and it would be a mistake for senators to vote for the healthcare industry rather than their constituents.

Conservatives, Republicans, and moderate Democrats tend to make the mistake of underestimating President Obama and the progressives. We are a tenacious group and we will persist until this battle is won.  Currently three Democratic Senators holding out, but I strongly believe a healthcare bill will be on the President’s desk by Christmas.

I often talk about the importance of leadership. I miss Senator Kennedy and as yet there is no one to fill his shoes.
So, Harry Reid, what have you got for a Plan B?
Regarding Health Care Reform, I'm for the "Public Option Consumer Protection Competitive Opt-In/Opt-Out Co-op Plan". I like it's simplicity.
Why hasn't MoveOn and HuffingtonPost ran threating and intimidation campaigns ads against Lieberman yet? Why should I keep sending them my money if they don't rough up these stupid Democrats voting against ObamaCare?
Morsels & Tidbits;

Listening to BobbleHead Bush talk about being motivated is about as crazeee as going hunting with Dickhead Cheney!

Nice to see the Palin/Johnston family feud continues.  Ol Levi literally dodged the bullet on getting sucked into that soap opera with a ring through his nose!  Klondike Barbie better watch herself…Levi knows where the ‘bodies’ are buried…  lol lol lol

To the righties who still BELIEVE she stands a chance of EVER being POTUS… well there’s medication to help with that!  Personally I would LOVE to see her run & have Michele Bachmann as her running mate = Bible Spice/Scary Spice 2012!

And what is going on with Chris Matthews???  Is it me or is Tweety turning into Morning Joke lite? I mean come on… he’s got Chucky T & Patsy B on discussing the NBC/WSJ poll results???  And we bitch about FAUX not being fair & balanced!

Speaking of Morning Joke… That Mika Mouse SURE is a ‘journalist’ now isn’t she?  Nice touch there Mike – proudly displaying your new ‘CFM’ shoes for all to see… lol lol lol!

With any luck President Obama will end world hunger today, however the GEENOPEE still won’t have a positive thing to say!

Oh well… we’re off to another day of keeping the right wing whack jobs at bay!
The Democrats don't want to debate the Stimulus plan, the mega-trillion dollar budget plan, deficit spending, global warming (just try to ask AlGore something), Crap&Trade, and now the Health Care legislation. The Democrats don't want to talk to the Republicans, the Blue Dogs, the people at town hall meetings, the people at Tea Parties, or Fox News. The Democrats do want to talk to terrorists, dictators, Iranian leaders, socialists, and any media outlet that puts out their propaganda unfiltered. Quite the bunch those Democrats.
Watched Bill O'Reilly last night. He had on some politics, some kind of trivia/funny game with two other Fox hosts, and talked about news of the day that wasn't about politics. For the political portion, O'Reilly also had on two hardcore Democrats, one being NY Rep Anthony Weiner. He had a civil discussion with them, and didn't have any "gotcha-questions" for them. A straight up interview.

Watched the replay of Olbermann's show later on. It was 100% hard left anti-Republican rhetoric and guests that were totally in the bag for the Democrats.

CNN had on Hulk Hogan.

And now you know why O'Reilly wins the rating race.
With regards to HCR, it appears the Democrats are kicking a dead rat down the road, and every time they give the rat a kick, they say "Look! It moved! It's alive!" For you retarded Dems out there, the rat is HCR.
As Obama dithers away with his little meetings, the violence in Afghanistan is now spreading to Pakistan. Pakistan has nukes Obie, and I hope you already knew that, but you probably forgot, what with all the time you're spending on your golf game. Obama better get his rear in gear, and quick, if there is any chance for McCrystal and company to have any chance of saving those two countries
Where's my $250 check!!
Yes, it has been almost a year since Obama was elected and Conservationist for Obama are asking the question, "Where are the Obama Environmental Appointments?"  Hundreds of Bush appointments remain in federal environmental agencies across the government.  It is not helping in moving forward positive environmental policies.  Read the full statement from the Copnservationists for Obama at the link below.

Health Care Reform, meet Social Security Reform. Enjoy each other on the scrape heap of political failures.
GREAT JOB BARACK- GMAC falters again and thanks to your Cash=For=Clunkers corporate welfare, now the Japanese and Korean carbuilders are raking in the dollars!

"GMAC seeking third bailout - report
U.S. Treasury likely to inject another $2.8 billion to $5.6 billion in troubled lender, Wall Street Journal says.
CNN Money October 28, 2009
NEW YORK- GMAC Financial Services is seeking a third round of bailout funds from the U.S. Treasury Department, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

Talks over a fresh lifeline are at an advanced stage and the U.S. government could provide an additional $2.8 billion to $5.6 billion to the lender, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
The U.S. has already injected $12.5 billion in the lender since December 2008 and owns a 35.4% stake in the firm, which is the primary lender to customers of General Motors and Chrysler."

"Honda nearly triples profit outlook: Automaker lifts annual forecasts well above expectations after getting a sales boost from schemes like Cash for Clunkers.

CNN Money October 27, 2009

TOKYO (Reuters) -- Honda Motor Co. nearly tripled its annual profit forecasts and more upside may be ahead, with the company taking a conservative view on the yen and with the effect of easing government incentives unknown.

Sales by the maker of Honda Civic cars have also turned up thanks to government sales incentives such as the United States' cash-for-clunkers program."
Florida Representitive Alan Grayson is a hero, a true Patriot. He says what Democrats believe. He says what is important to the Democrats. He has a earthy way of getting to the lowest common denominator people of the country, the far leftwing leftist socialists, and he has made a real connection with them. It doesn't take much thinking to appreciate Mr. Grayson, and the leftwing of the country has responded positively to his comments.

Thank you Alan Grayson! Thank you for being there for the ignorant people of the country!
In a Peanut Shell ~ the more things "change," the more they stay the same edition:

*Washington still doesn't work.

*Poppies are still the emblem of war.

*Joe Lieberman ... still crazy after all these years.

*The river of republican wisdom still flows through Hades.

Five cents, please.

Vermont Girl (from yesterday)

You make litle sense. Seems that you'd be more contructive cleaning house or something else peculiar to you.
Obama declares H1N1 outbreak a national emergency!

Maybe if enough Americans die from H1N1 Obie will win the Nobel Prize in Medicine for at least trying!
Of course the Republicans will poll low, every media outlet, except Fair and Balanced Fox, is in a total hate fest for the Republicans day in and day out. CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, NY Times, Wash Post, LA Times, etc., are all far left politically and are out of the main stream propaganda machines. Organizations count total positive/negative media stories for the Dems/Reps, and the stories run 4-1 against the Republicans. So it's a fraud to say the Republicans are unpopular because the Leftist media in the country forces it that way. I'm surprised it's not even lower
Mr. President, forget the polls and continue to do what you know to be best for this country and all Americans. Thank you for working so hard every day and keep swinging that mop because you are doing a fabulous job of cleaning up the mess you were left. Its a hard job, but somebody is gonna have to do it and that's why we hired you!

Response to previous stream:  It's sad that "Government Handout Babies" like yourself just want someone else to take care of you and your wallet at the expense of everyone else.
J Vest (Sent Tuesday, October 27, 2009 1:46 PM)

J. Vest, don't presume to know me or anything about me. I got my first job at 12 and haven't looked back. I've never been on Welfare nor received food stamps but thank God that if Americans are in need of such a hand up (not a handout) then more power to them. It is about time that the Rethugs in Congress understand that their obstinance is costing lives and treasure by not supporting HCR. The insurance companies are lining the pockets of both Dems and Rethugs in Congress and that has to stop. All Americans need affordable heathcare, which is not a handout in any shape or form. I'm ashamed that you think so.
I often talk about the importance of leadership. I miss Senator Kennedy and as yet there is no one to fill his shoes.

Ron Indiana

Maybe they can have him stuffed and roll him around the Senate floor. Ted would still be more dynamic then Reid is.
If people are tired of both political parties and think that neither has anything to offer, then they only have themselves to blame.  It is the voters who continue to put these same politicians back in office time and time again.  The attitude seems to be, "We need to throw all the bums out...but not the one representing MY district/state!"  Getting elected to the House is about as close to a lifetime appointment as there is outside the Supreme Court, and the turnover margin in the Senate is only slightly higher.  If the public is really mad at the current political situation, they need to say so at the ballot box time and time again, not just in some anonymous poll.
President Obama gonna throw out the first pitch at the World Series? He'd win the Cy Young award [best pitcher in baseball] if he did!
Also, don’t miss this: Despite being out of office and (relatively) out of the news, Sarah Palin’s fav/unfav in our poll has dropped from 32%-43% in July to 27%-46% now.

-------------------------------------------------

That's what happens when you QUIT, I guess.
FR: Last month’s poll found that Americans OPPOSED it by a 48%-46% margin. But now they SUPPORT it by a 48%-42% score.
-----------------------------------------------------

Most of the other polls have shown a solid majority behind a public option for months. I guess it's a matter of how the question is worded.

BTW: Nancy Pelosi's has been completely vindicated: the CIA lies all the time to Congress and everybody else.

But the revelation that the CIA has had the drug lord brother of Afghanistan's president on its payroll for years. The CIA has been on both sides of the War on Drugs ever since they supported the Nicaraguan "Contras" against the Sandinista government back in the '80s, and the Contras financed their rightwing guerrila war with the illicit drug trade in the United States.
Obama was for the Public Option, before he was against it, then was for it, then was against it again. Now, today, he's for it.

Now that's leadership.
I can do something called a 'veto' if I don't like a bill? Really? Go on!
FR: "just 38% gave [Obama] high marks for uniting the country, which is a 32-point drop (!!!) from our January 2009 poll."

And is anyone surprised by this?  These are sad days for America.  The unprecedented intervention by the Treasury and the Federal Reserve into pay decisions traditionally left to corporate boards and shareholders should be cause for alarm for anyone who holds freedom dear.  And the re-emergence of the public option as a big step on the road to a full government takeover of our health care does the same.  Whatever happened to life, liberty and a pursuit of happiness unimpeded by the iron hand of government?  Those ideals are being hijacked by a leftist ideology that prefers the ‘wisdom’ of central planners to the true wisdom of free thinking Americans.  So who’s next on the pay cut list?  And what’s next on the government takeover list?  Is there any corner of America that’s safe from the interference of today’s government into our lives?

Oops, that remark could land someone on Obama’s enemies list.  So be it, Mr. President.  Because you surely do not stand for the America I grew up in.  You surely do not stand for the America that enabled countless millions of us to thrive and prosper.  You surely do not stand for the America that cherishes freedom without bounds and accomplishment without predetermined outcome.  No, sir, you stand for a mediocrity by czarist fiat that will diminish us all.  You stand for taking from those with ability and giving to those without.  You stand for a playing field where the motivation to excel is eroded by a government that picks the winners and the losers.  So, it should come as no surpise to anyone that your poll numbers are in the tank.

America is an idea, an idea of equality of opportunity that enables and encourages exceptional achievement. But today that idea is under assault by a government pursuing social policies that could remake us into an uninspired nation of the ordinary.  Is that the kind of ‘change’ the country voted for?  Is that the kind of America we want to bequeath to the future?

The answer isn’t just no, it’s hell no. Because we the people give meaning to the idea that is America, not the government that is beholding to us.  And so long as there are free thinking citizens among us, that idea will not fade nor will our opposition to the failed ideology that seeks to besmirch it.  So keep your enemies lists if you must, Mr. President. But you can’t ignore us and your shills can’t succeed in smearing or demonizing us.  Because we’re here to stay, and we’re here to preserve the idea that is America. We are a tenacious group and we will persist until this battle is won. Get used to it.

The catholic church and it's Bishop is pulling every lie & every trick in the book to pass a referendum in Maine against gay marrige rights. Nat. Public Radio even had to pull it's 30 sec. lying ads. from the airways. These people & the Mormans are trying to push their religious beliefs on everyone else & will lie, cheat and steal & every other evil trick they have in their evil book.
So last night and this morning I called my doctor and every CVS, Walgreens and Jewel/Osco looking for the SEASONAL flu shot.... Nobody has it and don't know when they will get more...
They either ran out or never had it in the first place...it's not even November yet. Business as usual is right.
I know nobody cares but I'm getting tired of all this hoopla and horsecrud. Compromise has been offered to both sides on numerous ocassion and in many forms. What is wrong with opt in/out. Kicks it back to state making it a local issue. That should make the States Right's crowd happy. Let's them make sure it isn't an unfunded mandate like NCLB. P.O. is to be funded thru premiums and credits anyway to make it deficit neutral. Low income is going to get credits to buy insurence any way whether it is for public or private. Seems to me that the only thing that will happen other than p!ssing some of the folks off if thier leaders opt out it is only going to raise the premiums on the folks that opt in. I know that the devil is in the details but for gosh sakes folks we've got to get something in place so we have some details to work on. This form of government was predicated on the concept that folks would at some point set down and work for the common good. Our leaders have taken way to long with this and it is true that many other changes that need to be made haven't because in the absence of forward progress on both sides we have to keep some things in place so at least somebody is answering the phone when it rings even if you don't like the message when it plays.AWOL since Friday anybody hear from No Jo.
I don't know about any of you, but we got our health-care bills for next year and they have actually doubled from last year, just as the insurance companies said they would.  This is why a public option would be a good idea, so that we could shop around and make a better deal.
This war stops now. Call that undertaker, he owes me a service.

What a Guy

Changing Washington's almost two decades of embedded partisanship cannot happen in one year.  The GOP has dug in the heels in opposition to any and all things Obama which then makes the democrats dig in as well.

The Obama as president poll numbers reflect the bad economy.  America is often cynical, we see bailed out banks deciding that millions in bonus packages is reasonable while the taxpayers see it as a slap in the face; job losses caused by these banking/investment firms; we are bankrupt and weary from two wars and the CIC is the most likely person to notice our frustrations.  The fact that Obama as a person remains popular means that once the economy starts moving again, the Obama as CIC number will improve.

25% have a positive opinion of the GOP yet they continue down the road of NO NO NO obstruction and they continue moving to the far right.  Wake up Mitch McConnell, Boehner, Cantor, et al, you are not helping your party by being negative regarding every issue.  No doubt losing for the party that was determined to be a permanent majority has been a low blow to the ego, it is only natural that they cling to what they think gave them power.

Last night I was thinking about Lieberman and decided that he is in need of some TLC.  He marginalized himself within the democratic party and every now and then feels the need for attention--and he got it.  I think he needs reminding by Reid and others that he owes Pres Obama for maintaining his chairmanship.  My other thought about Lieberman was to wonder how much money he received from Aetna, United Health Group, and Wellpoint for his vote.  Interesting point on MSNBC that when Reid announced the opt-out public option, stocks for these 3 companies fell; yesterday, after Joe's statement, the stocks rose.  Hmmm.  Need any more clues as to why a robust public option is important.

When the Marine resigned from the State Department, his comments reminded me of John Kerry's and Vietnam.  MSNBC reported that the administration was aware of his plans for about a month and State Dept officials tried to change his mind.  That made me wonder if this man's assessment of the situation has resulted in Pres Obama's team re-evaluating McChrystal's report and questioning it.  Let's face it, the Generals on the ground will always look to win and their views reflect "winning" as opposed to what might be best.  I trust what the generals on the ground say but I also realize that the military's goal is often winning the war not whether or not the war is worth winning.  Still have mixed feelings about Afghanistan mostly because of the failures of Bush/Cheney to actually try winning.  Time is no longer on our side.

Joe Lieberman is going to write a book soon.
He's going to call it, are you ready-  Goin' Rogue.
What?  It's a SCAM??
Well, not any more, because I proclaim it to be true!
And I'm the great, all-knowing......
"he used during the two-year campaign -- with much success -- was that he stood for changing the ways of Washington;" and that he has not, is his fault?

time and time again, president obama has reached out to the congressional gop, meeting with their caucus, having them to the white house, acknowledging them in his hopes to work with them on health care reform or praising them for their support on his economic recovery bill.

first, it began with rush's followed quickly by the gop, "we want him to fail." then the long litany of racist, bigoted rants including accusing him of everything from socialist, to fascist to communist to palling around with dictators, birthers, death panels, free tax-payer funded health care to any illegal willing to cross the border, concentration camps for our kids, the list goes on and on.

each of these politically motivated propaganda and ratings and advertising dollars were aired and enabled by the msm over and over so one did not have to listen to rush or fox to know them, hear them, listen to them being discussed ad nauseum.

interesting, with all your reporting of multiple questions in your nbc/wall street poll; did you ask any question pertaining to respondents opinion of your responsibility for the mood of the country?

OK, lefties - I hope you're all sitting down because I actually have a compliment for Obie.  I heard on the radio this morning that he was giving our soldiers a 3.5% pay increase.  Bravo!  Anything to support our troops that bravely fight for us!!

(now, about those jobs for the rest of us.....)
"But a year later, according to the latest NBC/WSJ poll, Washington is about as unpopular as it ever was."

Gosh, maybe that's why Presidents have four-year terms.

Can you say "duh"?
FR: "just 38% gave [Obama] high marks for uniting the country, which is a 32-point drop (!!!) from our January 2009 poll."

The country? Obama can't even unite his own party.
Where's all the jobs Obama promised last summer?
Deeds will not win in Va., but it has nothing to do with President Obama. It has everything to do with Deeds. He is a weak candidate

I agree Ron.  Deeds is a weak sister.  But credit must be given where it's due, and Bob McDonnell is a good candidate who has run a positive, issues-focused campaign.   He'd be a formidable foe against any Democrat.
Rush himself proclaims to be right only 99.8% of the time.
Damn, nobody's perfect.

Obie's never been right in his life. He's lived one big lie and that's all he knows.

Elected by fools.
