Gore-backed group gears up

From NBC's Kelly Paice
As supporters wage their uphill campaign to pass an energy/climate change bill in the Senate, the Al Gore-backed group Alliance for Climate Protection today launched what it's calling an online, field and advertising "Repower America" campaign to get the legislation through Congress.

In a conference call with reporters, Maggie Fox, the alliance's president and CEO, explained that the organization was "launched in late 2006 by ... Gore with the idea of building a movement of showing urgency" for the need of a clean energy environment and "turning it into an opportunity."

Fox said that this new effort launched today includes an integrated campaign featuring two TV ads and an interactive wall on its Web site showing "the incredible, fierce, and growing support of the movement and action on a clean energy economy this year." More than 11,000 people have posted on the organization's "Repower Wall," which provides a forum for diverse voices -- including Americans across the country, business leaders, and faith-based activists -- to discuss how to move America into a clean energy mindset.

Fox described the campaign so far "a hub, an aggregator, and an amplifier" for the clean energy movement.

Rev. Richard Cizik, president of the New Evangelicals and a voice for the Repower America campaign, reiterated that climate change is a global issue, and said that in meeting with religious leaders across the world that there is a common belief in protecting our environment. "They all say, as people of different religions, that this is what their holy book calls us all to do." David Boundy, Repower America's campaign manager, stated that the purpose of the campaign is to "combat the notion that change cannot be made in this country."

Another supporter of the Repower America campaign, Exelon Corporation Executive Vice President Elizabeth Moler expressed her corporation's strong support for passage of climate change legislation as soon as possible. Moler said that Exelon was "very gratified" with the House when it passed its energy/climate change bill in June. But she understands "that it's an uphill battle in the Senate," where moderate Democrats and Republicans pose a threat in supporting less ambitious climate legislation. However, Fox said that Sens. John Kerry (D-MA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) represent the organization's perspective and are "working to move legislation this year or at least put together a package that bounces into next year."

I'm thinking maybe new implants.
New implants, and some new tops that really expose the old cleavage a little more.
Thinks I'd get of Fox and Friends???
"Repower America" campaign to get the legislation through Congress.

I hope so.  But the fringe, lunatic "dopes of Nope" who listen to Fox Noise, Rush Limp balls (the blurting, hateful, lying, idiotic chatter box), Cone head Glenn Beck, and agree what they say and do are  surrounded  right now with pollution ; you can cut it with a knife.
It's those war profiteers and the ASTROTURFERS (who are front men to plant lies in feeble minds to gouge this economy with astronomical insurance and oil and coal prices), labor, ACORN, Rotten foods, lethal drugs, living wage, Tea Partys etc. See you tube video Rachel Maddow Takes On Controversial P.R. AL GORE???????? Seriously, give me a break! He's the ultimate loser. An angry old man.

DEARBORN, Mich. - Ford, the only Detroit automaker to dodge direct government aid and bankruptcy court, surprised investors with net income of nearly $1 billion in the third quarter and forecast a "solidly profitable" 2011.

Let's see. It was GM and Chrysler that took all the money and are still in big trouble right?

Proof that government hand outs often keep people in need, in need of the government to provide solutions.

Wasn't it Barack Obama who said this was something only the government could fix? Barack Obama our President?

People that think the free money government handouts are the way to go are living proof of the consequences.
GO AWAY, AL GORE !!
You're the BIGGEST PHONEY in America

did you ever find Man-Bear-Pig ??
It's in the same place that all those WMDs are !!

What ever happened to all those 'high paying new jobs' that NAFTA was gonna bring us ??

'...Republicans continue to see the war in Afghanistan as an issue they can use to their advantage politically. Many Republicans believe that each day that Obama does not announce a clear, comprehensive war strategy is a day in which they have won the spin war on the issue...'

BINGO !!
That's ALL this is
SPIN

Does ANYBODY think the republicans really care about finding al Queda and stabilizing Afghanistan ?

They're just playing political games

Just like on Health Care and the Economy

'America First' ???
NOT EVEN CLOSE

Republicans give DEMAGOUGERY a BAD NAME
Has anyone seen a hurricane around here lately? A tropical storm? Has it gotten a little windy somewhere? Little bit rainy maybe? It snowed in Denver the other day you say? That doesn't help, remember we're talking about Global Warming, not Global Cooling? Anything? Nothing? Darn!
We must believe in Mr. Gore. He won a Nobel you recall. The man is smart, knows his business, and is not an alarmist.
Just how much money does Soros's have?
Just follow the health care reform model, Al.  Give away the store right from the start, and everything should work out just fine.

Now excuse me while I call my broker and invest in a little oil company stock ... right after I buy into a few health care insurance companies.  Seems the economy is finally starting to look up.
Follow the money. Al Gore stands to make millions if the proposed climate bill legislation passes. Al Gore is nothing more than a slimy environment profiteer. Newsflash everyone. The people at the top of our political food chain care nothing about the environment. This so called climate issue is just a perfect vehicle to create new goverment revenue streams to enrich the already super-rich.
Last week, someone challenged a comment I made about renewable energy and it's potential economic impact.  In the QC Times, there was an article about a company in Davenport, Lafarge, which makes cement.  They invested $6 million dollars and now have a system which burns others' trash to fuel their kiln.  The raw materials are wastes created by other eastern Iowa and western Illinois industries.  Already this year, the company has deverted 15,000 tons of material from the landfill, and saved the other industries money in disposal fees.  Lafarge will reduce their coal consumption by 35,000 tons by year end.  In 2006, renewable fuel used by this company was 7.5%, it is now 25%.  The company takes a waste product that isn't necessarily recyclable by traditional means and gets value from it.

Yep. He's also the self-proclaimed founding father of the internet.
Al Gore has deceived us!
Al Gore came out on top after he was robbed of the 2000 election by Bush's little bro in Florida and the rest of the Rovian Gang!!

Academy Award, Nobel Peace Prize for Al Gore!! Hiding away in Dallas for Dubya, who left office disgraced, having destroyed his Party, and responsible for the greatest economic collapse since the Great Depression!!

Yeah, I think Al Gore's doing well!! Al Gore is sitting at the top of the world and Bush is in the toilet, where he should be!!

How'd stealing that election work out for you, Dumbya, Jeb?!?!

Why did you fail mention that Ford states that their Large revenue quarter is greatly attributed to the "clunkers" program? I mean seriously, it's the second sentance after the headline.

Selective facts much?
Oh, Marcus, one more thing:

The US Taxpayers did not 'GIVE' GM or Chrysler ANYTHING. These are loans, which will be paid back, with interest.

Now I know if GM and / or Chrysler fail that you will be able to take a 'win' home to your party. But if they succeed, the american taxpayer will actually see a profit out of this mess of a situation; So pick your win (or loss) carefully.
Picture this:

Al Gore and Barack Obama get together to discuss their Nobel Peace Prizes and discuss who deserved theirs the most for doing nothing.

A great knee slapper for a SNL comedy sketch! Hey throw Letterboy in trying to seduce some of the female staffers! Hillarious! LOL!
Obama must stand tall and do as he promised and do right by our military; if he sends as much as ONE troop to Afghanistan, this DOES become his war

Guess Obama owns the war. How did you miss this out in La La Land. Must be that Palin journalism degree you brag about. Talk about a lunatic wingnut. You will be wanting to lend money to unemployed houses next.
So Al Gore wants Climate Change Bills to pass...wow , I wonder why?  could it be because he is hiding a lot of money in some green start up companies that he wants the Government to fund?  isn't he a partner/friends with some small companies from outside the United States that got funds from the U.S. Stimulus Bill to build green cars that cost 100,000 dollars each?  Lining his pockets off the American taxpayers and the Liberals buy it all the time.  I wonder how much Soros and Gore and other libs have tied up in the Global Warming scams and how much they will reap once they get this new turkey of a Bill passed?
I'm totally impressed with these folks gettin' all fired up over the climate change, green technology etc. Oh yeah I also see that Big Al is an investor in the green car company "Fisker" that plans to build a ninety thousand dollar plug in electric car. The seed money of $369 million comes from you and I and of course we guarantee it. This venture is a guaranteed loser because 1) we do not need another car comapny at this point in time and 2) At 90 K how many cars  will they actually sell. The untra greenies are notoriously cheap and will spend a lot of time bitchin' about green issues but will not belly up to the bar to pay for one of these white elephants. Most impportantly all this greenie activity in the US will be for naught as the Chinese and Indians continue to grow their economies and continue to flip the bird at the weenie greenies. Just watch the money trail to see Big All grab a bundle on this boondoggle.
Marcus D.  Try paying attention to economics and economists.  Obviously logic escapes some.  The Government had to bail out the banking institutions who caused this mess or risk total economic collapse; part of that collapse of banks hurt American automakers greatly--we can do without new cars, trucks, or vacations but we cannot do without necessities.  The collapse of GM and Chrysler would have meant the loss of millions of middle class jobs.  You think unemployment is bad now, add those jobs plus the trickle down job losses of suppliers, parts makers, car dealerships, and the list goes on.  Bailouts to prevent a second depression were a necessary step.

Ted, Mid Michigan

Hope springs eternal in Michigan. GM is toast. Done. Gone. Finished. Obama paid $62 billion for it. It will never be worth that! The American Taxpayer, once again, is the biggest loser!

Thanks Barack.
Obama sent 21,000 troops to Afghanistan.  I supported that at the time and I support his war now.

Pam,

One, get off your hate of Pres Bush.  he is only disgraced in you crazed liberals view.  I look at him as someone who was strong in his beliefs and tried the best he could to follow through on them, especially in difficult times (9/11 was a terrible time for our Country as a whole and still has lasting effects now).

As for stealing the election...didn't the newspapers do an independant study and determine Bush would have still won even if they'd continued counting for 2  months or more? Most people start and stop the conversation at the SC stopping the count and forget the rest.

As for Gore and this topic.  A lot of independent scientists are debunking the Global Warming scare.  Studies have come out saying no more/less Hurricanes during the past 20 years as opposed to the 20 before that and the 20 before them.  While it seems to be getting a little warmer, studies have shown that this is a naturally occuring process that happened/s in cycles.  What I will say is anytime any government comes wanting money...look to your wallet and look to where the money goes.  Gore isn't in it for his generosity, he and his partners, G Soros and Co are looking to rake in the bucks...follow the money. In the Stimulus Bill 2 foreign companies got money to produce high end green cars costing 100,000 dollars or more?  Which regular Americans was that money spent on? Who pushed those items in the bills, yep Gore and co!

My mean comment is...don't hold up an Academy Award for Gore as something special...it is for entertainment..and for a possible hoax to drum up money for he and his rich friends (something that was blamed on Bush too was it not)

And the Nobel Peace Prize is/has been losing a lot of luster lately.  When the committee has to justify, to a lot of peoples amazement, it's latest to Obama.  And recent ones to Arafat, etc...maybe he can use it in his bathroom but proudly on his mantle i'm not so sure about.
The glacier on Kilamanjaro are melting at an alarming rate, the ice caps are melting at an alarming rate but there is no global warming, right? Listen, I have this bridge...it's a nice one...I can get if for you at a great price.
Folks, this really isn't that difficult to understand. Think of the Earth as if it were a glass of water with icecubes in it. If you add heat to the glass the ice melts, the water stays cool because of the ice melt, when the ice is gone the glass of water rises in temperature quite rapidly compared to when the ice was present and melting. We are losing our ice, when it is gone, THAT is when global warming will be undeniably evident even to the dullards who have been denying it.
Eagle1776 - do you find it as weird as me that the Global Warming is a myth crowd seemed to have gone elsewhere?

Now all they do is lob disparaging remarks at Al Gore.

Climate change is REAL. The sooner we all face that fact, the sooner we can solve the problem.
I dont think many dispute overall global warming. What is still in dispute is how much humans contribute to it and how much effect we can have to reverse it. The central question is how reliable and accurate are the computer models they use to predict climate change.  Their accuracy is only as good as the assumptions they put into it. My problem is if these models are so good predicting things that will happen 10, 20, 50, 100 years from now then why arn't our daily weather predictions more accurate?
AL GORE IS GETTING FILTY-RICH OFF HIS PHONY 'CARBON CREDITS' SELLING SCHEME.
