Obama agenda: Admonishing Karzai

“President Obama on Monday admonished President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan that he must take on what American officials have said he avoided during his first term: the rampant corruption and drug trade that have fueled the resurgence of the Taliban,” the New York Times front-pages. “What he is seeking, Mr. Obama told reporters … , is ‘a sense on the part of President Karzai that, after some difficult years in which there has been some drift, that in fact he’s going to move boldly and forcefully forward and take advantage of the international community’s interest in his country to initiate reforms internally. That has to be one of our highest priorities.’”

The Hill notes the record number of lobbyists who’ve quit since Obama’s taken office: “The giant spike in resignations came just after the Obama administration instituted strict new rules on lobbyist activity. The White House banned employees from receiving gifts from lobbyists and announced that any lobbyist hired by the executive branch could not work on the same issues on which he or she lobbied.” (Over 1,400 lobbyists ‘deregistered’ with Congress in the second quarter of 2009, according to a study conducted jointly by the Center for Responsive Politics (CRP) and OMB Watch. Typically, only a few hundred lobbyists quit each quarter.)”

More: “But the study's authors warn that not all of the deregistered lobbyists may actually be out of business. ‘At the federal level, many people working in the lobbying industry are not registered lobbyists, instead adopting titles such as 'senior adviser' or other executive monikers, thereby avoiding federal disclosure requirements under the Lobbying Disclosure Act,’ CRP and OMB Watch said in a statement.”

And a good portion of those deregistered are probably now called "czar."
Shouldn't he stop pointing fingers?  When he points one at someone else, there are three times as many fingers pointing back at him.  Acorn registering dead people, his source for community organizing proving to be engaged in illegal activities suggests corruption at a very basic level.

If only Obama would only practice what he preaches to other countries about government corruption. I am an American or whats left of it and I can honestly say I know of no other country that is more corrupt than ours which is corupt from the top to the bottom the only difference is we don't openly kill our citizens like the others do at this time.
Still this is a tricky situation and no matter what our troop will be in harms way this terrain and the weather would put us at a stand still and the only people who know how to navigate are the goat herders who will sneak up and around our camps when visibilty is low and make thing;s worser but we should move our troo to higher ground for now then wait out Karzi for he should know something on these folk's who really are some type of kin to him and those around so if troop are going to be needed send them with a new mission leaving in March 2010. In the present we can disrupte them by burning those dope feild's and striking those mountains with missle's the fire will bring them out and them missles will knock them out while the drones will keep them out no troop's really needed yet.
RE: delaying a decision on Afghanistan...again!
I am beginning to believe that President Obama is delaying a deciaion on Afghanistan to avoid offending liberal House Democrats he needs for health care reform. Until HCR is passed or dies on life support, I believe the President will keep coming up with excuses for delaying his decision...and having his press secretary keep saying, "the decision should be coming in a few weeks" - yeah, we have heard that since early September.
